November 1^st, 2025, Tempe, AZ – The Seattle Ravens closed out a perfect 9-0 tournament run with a hard-fought victory over the Houston Gamblers in the 35+ Cactus Championship game in Tempe Diablo Stadium.

The Ravens earned their first-ever MSBL World Series championship after enduring well over a decade of proverbial blood, sweat, and tears.

Hey Dad! Want to have a catch? Matt asked me…How fitting!

We made our way up to the field and waited for our turn to use the field. When we finished “having a catch,” Matt met me at home plate and gave a warm and steady embrace. He told me how much I meant to him and how thankful he was for all Roseanne I have done for him.

I cried tears of joy.

The Red Sox racked up 11 hits, with Ravelo, Smith, and Danel Gonzalez collecting two apiece. Padilla and Smith each drove in two, and the defense backed them with a smooth double play.

The Braves showed fight with hits from Julio Mesa, Jose Marcano, and Nick Luni. Mesa swiped three bases, helping the Braves finish the season with their trademark hustle.

A single by leadoff hitter Jeff Newman plated a run, making it 5-3, and a stolen base and fielding error allowed another run to score, making it 5-4 with nobody out.

Carl Detert picked up the win in game two with five innings of 3-hit ball, while Fernando DaSilva grabbed the save with four innings of 5-hit relief, as the two hurlers combined to strike out 11 while only walking one.

In 2014, the Mustangs won their first national championship in the 50+ Cactus Division at the MSBL World Series in Phoenix, Arizona. Since then, we have been fortunate to win several more championships as we have aged up through the divisions.

But we would not have won our first one back in 2014, had it not been for Joe Feller gaining five victories in that tournament, three as a starter, and two in relief. Mike LaComb, manager
