1. Turn Back Time 5000

If you accidentally removed Uncle Harry from the family tree and forgot about it a while ago, then Turn Back Time would allow you to restore it with one click and take you back to the point just before the removal occurred. This feature was introduced in FTM 2019 and pretty much covers everything that goes along with being able to undo mistakes. Since all changes are displayed in the Turn Back Time change log, this includes all data about all types of changes that have been performed on your family tree, such as merging or syncing your family tree with Ancestry.com. The user feedback that we received indicated that we should add additional records to the change log, so we added 5000 records to Turn Back Time!

2. Connect Workspace

The Connect workspace will allow you to easily share your family tree with relatives and have them help you confirm the accuracy of the information within it. Your relatives can access your tree through the free mobile app called FTM Connect, available for both iPhone and Android. If your relatives find anything that they wish to share with you, they can create a sticky note with the Relative Hint. Because of TreeVault, their sticky note icons will now appear on your FTM tree and in the Index next to the Ancestry and FamilySearch hints. You will also be able to see how your network of relatives is helping you with this information as they continue to support you in building your family history. So it’s time to start connecting!

3. FTM Connect 2.0

Thanks to a significant upgrade of the FTM Connect app, individuals are now able to connect with their extended families through the app’s Guest Access feature. With the help of TreeVault, users are able to create invitations for family members to share their family tree with via mobile devices (tablets or smartphones). Upon accepting the invitation, users will have access to even more recorded details within their family trees from within the app, including recorded relationships, research notes and web links. 4. Easy on the Eyes

With Easy on the Eyes, you can make the areas you’re working with in your People workspace much larger so you can see them easily, until you’re finished, at which point they will shrink back down to the way they looked originally. 5. New Photo Darkroom Tools

In FTM 2017, we introduced a selection of tools for restoring photographs that were damaged, in particular photographs that have faded so badly throughout the years that they are virtually blank. We collectively called these tools Photo Darkroom. As we will detail in FTM 2024, the Photo Darkroom tools have multiplied dramatically. In addition to the basic cropping function, you now have a full range of new and enhanced repair tools that enable you to easily remove scratches and dust from your old family photographs. Like the original Photo Darkroom tools, you will always have an unchanged original copy of the photograph you are restoring.

6. Coming Soon! AlbumWALK

AlbumWALK has been describe as a “game-changer” for putting memories into photos. As the basis for our original technology patent, AlbumWALK is a free mobile application for both iOS and Android devices that enables any user to capture their memories and then embed them within a photo using our proprietary tap-talk SoundSpot technology. You can simply tap a person’s face within a photograph and then talk about that individual before selecting the next person and tapping again (and so forth).
