B&H's website makes it easy to find what I'm looking for, I utilize the search bar to fine tune what I'm looking for. If I'm unsure of what product I need, I contact customer service for assistance.
I have a small business supporting local offices' computer and network needs. If I need something immediately, I can run up to Best Buy or Office Depot, and hope they have it. For computer builds I used to use NewEgg. But when I needed several specific pre-built systems, only B&H Video had what I was looking for. They customized the systems as I requested, and the whole process was painless.
Now they are my go-to first stop. If they don't carry something, then I go elsewhere for that item. But no store can carry everything, so that's not a dig on them.
Terrible experience with B&H. I ordered a remote flash trigger and they had two addresses on file for me, one of which I haven't lived in for years. For some reason, they defaulted to shipping to this old address. Once I noticed the error I immediately contacted B&H, who told me to use the FedEx "delivery manager" to change the delivery. When I attempted to do this, I received the following message: "Due to shipper restrictions, additional delivery options are not available for this shipment. For more information please contact the shipper." So basically, B&H tells me to contact FedEx, and FedEx tells me to contact B&H. What is especially frustrating is that I noticed the error when the package was right here in Sacramento, where I live. Yet B&H claimed they could do nothing. Thankfully I did not order something more expensive. I will never buy from this company again.

As soon as you submitted your order we responded via email by sending our "Order Confirmation" message which included the shipping address we intended to use and offered a "modify or cancel" button for you to use to correct any error.
I am sorry you overlooked both these opportunities to correct any error. We shipped to the address you provided and regret it was not corrected when the opportunity was presented to you.
The order was shipped on 01/16. By the time you contacted us on 01/18 the package was in transit and it was too late to make the sort of adjustment you wanted.

I always find what I need for my cameras. It's easy to find what I need, B&H has a great selection, and they ship it to me fast. I like that I can look at the reviews to make an informed decision.
Searching for new equipment brings up ads with used items that aren't marked as "USED" in the ad. You think you are getting marginally better deals than competitors, but don't find out it's used, except in small print of email, or when item shows up with a big "USED" across the box. Then you get to pay an exorbitant shipping and restocking fee, or just accept overpaying for a used item.

As shown with attachments, B&H's own Order Detail page does NOT show the mouse as being used. There was NOT a link to a more expensive NEW version of this mouse when I purchased. The original "ad" on B&H has conveniently "disappeared", but had nothing about being used. Representative implied I should have known it was used because all B&H used items only have "numbers" in the item #? Like that's the customer's responsibility to know!?!? When searched on Google Shopping for NEW Deathadder v2 Pro mice, B&H came up as "$15 off regular price" of $69.99, or $54.99. This was $5 lower than Amazon's NEW price of $59.99. I thought B&H was a reputable company, so I went with them for the extra $5 savings. $69.99 is a common or typical price online for this mouse.
At this point, forget it! I've paid USPS ~$10 to send it back and purchased NEW from Amazon which just lowered the NEW price to $49.99 with FREE shipping and FREE returns! Never buying from B&H again and telling anyone I know to avoid them like the plague! From reviews, selling USED as NEW is not uncommon for B&H. BYE BYE!

B&H Photo and Video has every thing a photographer needs: A large inventory, a web site that is easy to navigate and easy to use, knowledgeable staff support and a fair return policy.
My son told me he wanted a "shoulder rig with auto focus" for the DSLR he shoots movies in his film classes with. I had no idea what he was talking about, and his 19-year-old explanation left me a little less in the dark but still a bit puzzled. When I plugged "shoulder rig with auto focus" into the B&H site, however--all was revealed! They even let me narrow the search for what would work with a DSLR. Cross-indexing what I saw on their site, with what my son told me, I bought him the perfect Christmas Gift!

This behemoth of a retailer has now gotten too big. Earlier in the year they sent me a used and scratched filter as and I paid full new price. I just ordered and monitor that is meant to be color calibrated at the factory and cost over 1K they sent me a used Monitor and did not even try to make it look new. Notice the shipping label sloppy ripped then they put this box in another box also sloppy wrapped. I will be returning this and buy a new and and expect a new one. In the future I will try to buy from smaller retailers like Sammys camera and Midwest photo.

I like that I can speak to a knowledgeable person before making a purchase. They have a great inventory of used equipment.
B&H has always been high on my list of retailers to work with when buying new and used photography equipment. They carry brands ranging from niche to name brand and are often listed at great prices. It is easy to keep up to date and track their sold out supplies if needed.
B&H is my go to place for photography gear. They do a wonderful job maintaining their website with accurate product descriptions, product reviews and how to videos. They are also competitively priced and price match places like Adorama, Focus Camera, Best Buy and other major retailers. I have been extremely pleased with how well B&H ships their merchandise too. I have bought from another camera retailer on rare occasions for SD cards and an external hard drive and the other retailer did not adequately package these items and they were smashed. This has never happened with B&H.
Answer: ANy refurbished item we sell has been refurbished by the manufacturer or official US distributor, Nikon USA or Canon USA etc. Other used items are each rated on a numeric scale and we tend to be conservative so customers are not disappointed.
