Buyer beware
July 13, 2012

Buyer beware - bonanza allows dishonest sellers to peddle their wares on their site. We bought a Tumi suitcase from a seller who changed names three times during the process (from Luggage4Less to Luggage Emporium to Luggage Leader). We were unable to find a way to reach the seller to initiate a return, and are now stuck with a $500+ suitcase that is way too small. We tried to get a return through bonanza and google and more -- and got stuck at the seller saying "we have a 5 day return policy." Nevermind that the seller made it impossible to identify them, let alone initiate a return within 5 days! The people at bonanza were polite, but ultimately did nothing and continue to allow this unethical seller to peddle on their site. This was a good learning experience about purchasing carefully ion the internet.

For those of us looking to sell on a site other than feeBay, keep looking. Bonanza.com is pretty good as far as ease of listing is concerned, though others are better. And, it is FREE. Where Bonanza falls horribly short is SALES. I sell lots of the same items on feeBay that go completely ignored on Bonanza. Plus, you can't do auctions - only Buy Now for those of you who prefer the auction format. Bonanza does have "Best Offer", but what does it matter when no one is looking?!?! Like eBid.net Bonanza refuses to advertise, so don't look for improved traffic as time passes. My advice is stay away. Thank God Bonanza's free so I'm not paying them for zero sales!

A great place to sell your things :) I have sold on Amazon, Ebay & Etsy. So far I think Bonanza is way better. They care more about the seller. It's easy to list things, & it's way cheaper to List items, ect. Try it out as a seller, or go to shop. It's great I Love it :)

It's a great site to sell or buy items from. Once you get the hang of it you would have fun. They have many tools to promote and interact with other sellers. Has very nice community. I buy and sell there. The site keep improving over time. I do recommend this site to discover items, also to declutter your house/apartment and turn them to cash.

Hi,
August 14, 2011

Hi,
We are an online distributor of dietary supplements and we wanted to share our positive review of Bonanza.com. We sell on several online venues, including the big ones like ebay and amazon, but Bonanza delivers a nice amount of internet exposure for very little cost. Their customer service is exceptional. Aside from that, your items will sell on there. They go submit xml feeds to google products, as well as bing and yahoo. I have had an issue or 2 with them BUT, they handled it super fast and it was resolved. The issues were more technical than anything done in error on their behalf. There fees are so reasonable, the service is great and your items will sell. Make sure you tell them MuscleLabsUSA sent ya! :)

I absolutely love this site! It is so much better than ebay. As a seller I don't feel as though they are against me. I had an issue with a buyer who was not cooperating, and they took the time to figure out what was going on and who was right. Unlike ebay, where the ruling is automatically in favor of the buyer, a human being took the time to research the problem.

They are also more personable. The lingo on the site isn't slang however I do feel as though there are actual people behind the site, and not heartless money seekers

I LOVE LOVE this site

A de-cluttered and more "personal" ebay? Maybe. It sort of borrows from Etsy and Ebay in unequal parts. But basically it's another list your item to sell where you can list almost as many items that belong in categories as Ebay (terrible sentence). There are many attractive upsides to Bonanza over Ebay: free listings (4 pictures included - although Ebay now allows 50 free listings per month), the final fee is less than Ebay by a bit (their fees page explains exactly by how much), your products are distributed via google and bing so they show up in searches, you can import listings from Ebay and Etsy as well as feedback so the transfer is minimal hassle and many other minor "perks". One thing I find slightly creepy is that they show a google map of where you are on your "booth". I prefer buyers only know my address when they WIN an item, not when they look at what I'm selling. Especially if you're just selling excess personal items like shoes, handbags and clothing and aren't a wholesaler with a generic main street address.

I've listed an item both on Bonanza and Ebay and it definitely sold a lot faster on Ebay than on Bonanza despite its search engine pandering. In fact, when I neglected to remove the listing from Bonanza and someone bought it months later, I had NO idea how to cancel the listing on Bonanza. I refunded them via PayPal but after clicking (because I think their layout is not intuitive and kind of messy) around for a few minutes I gave up and contacted their customer service, which were helpful and resolved my problem.

At this point, I'm not really sure what the point of this site is other than maybe being a bit more useful if you know how to utilize its features and fewer fees (but doesn't matter if no one's buying your things). Etsy is still far superior in terms of having more variety if you're looking for handmade. Apparently though if you're in the market for selling 1K+ Chanel bags, Bonanza has a bags section just for that purpose.
