It's hard to find plus size bras. I like Chantelle which is a very nice brand but they no longer sell in my size. Catherine's seems to have a large selection and variety. I want to try a few different styles and sizes because I'm not familiar with the brand. I have 6 bras in my cart and shipping is $35 (I live in the US), which I assume I won't be able to recoup if I return some of the product. After reading these reviews about their customer service, I'll abandon my shopping cart and keep on looking.
I have been a long time customer with Catherine's. I have some of the same complaints as others with order mix-ups and poor quality of clothes. However my biggest complaint right now is their payment system. I had a lost payment at the post office. As soon as I found out about it, I made a payment over the phone. That payment did not go through and I only found out about it through noticing that my credit score went down over 100 points found out the representative had used my credit card number instead of the account number. I was immediately charges $29.00 for a returned check. I called and made another by phone payment and that one did not go through either and they charged another $29.00 returned check. I had gotten nervous about the payments and made a $100 payment on line myself. It was super easy and it went through. In the mean time they lowered my credit and that caused my credit score to lower because a higher percentage of my credit with Catherine's was used. Although a talked to a couple of people who seemed to want to help me, I found that they are the kind of company who seems to shoot first and ask no questions later and heaven forbid that they admit to a mistake. Personally, I will not ever charge with them again but if you do, use your Credit Card either write a check or pay online.
I used to love Catherine's store. I was about two miles from me and I used to go in there about every three weeks and really got a lot of sales. The sales personnel were so great. Their on line store sucks. I got two blouses that were duplicate and their pants came from Jessica London division of the store and were petite but I am going to have to put a big hem in them. The material is really cheap looking. I am not sending these items back and will probably just wear the pants around the house. This is is my last order from Catherine's. It is sad but "Bye, Bye Catherines!
How I wish I had read these reviews before ordering! Besides not honoring promotions that I constantly am receiving emails for, their shipping info for international customers is false. Was offered after purchase of items "express courier - air). Paid a premium for it this service. I had not received any tracking notices and when I called was told that "we don't do air courier for international" and that the items have been delivered by ground courier. Finally received a tracking email from the courier company which showed that indeed it was being delivered by ground. Of course when I called to get a refund for the air courier premium fees, I was told that it was against company policy! Buyer beware... shop elsewhere.
Not only did I have to pay shipping for my item I had to pay shipping to return it just because I wanted it back on my card. If I had chosen their credit then it wouldn't be a charge. I took a $30 loss on an item to return it because it didn't come in on time. Be forewarned these are money hungry people. Should have looked at the reviews before I bought 😢
Placed order on June 24th and my order has still not shipped. The site says 5 to 7 days. Customer service said they could not help me. Warehouse is behind and it will be 7 to 10 days before it ships. So my items will not be here in time for vacation. I will never purchase from this company again.
I ordered my Catherine curvy jeans on eBay. They arrived fast but the jeans are not of the same quality that they were a few years ago. I sent them back because they were not described as in in the pictures. EBay paid for shipping and I hopefully will get a refund with three days after arrival. Won't buy jeans from them again.
I bought a bra. The elastic was so thin you could see through it. No support. It was way too small. I called immediately to return it and they wanted to charge me $10. Restock fees. For a $14. Item. Plu I would have to pay to send it back to them. I'll donate it to goodwill.
I ordered 3 bras, I waited almost 2 weeks for them to be delivered. When my package arrived, instead of bras I received a pair of pants. When I called customer service, I was told they would ship the bras, but they would charge my card again. And once the pants were returned they would refund my card. Um, no.this mistake was on their end. They should send me the bras and not charge me again, even if it is a temporary charge. I didn't order the pants, I don't want the pants. I will return them. I would have been satisified with an apology, told that my correct order would be sent out immediately and told that the shipping and handling would be credited back to my card. Instead, I am getting a refund for my bras, but that won't happen until they receive the pants back. This is bull$#*!. I am really disappointed in Catherines. I guess its time to close my account with them.
It is unfortunate that there is no longer any Catherine's brick and mortar store. Their online shopping is awful and you will be confused with all of the "sales"going on at one time. $27 for shipping? What? $11 for a return "processing fee"? What? And you can't cancel an order after you've placed it even though it won't ship for another 7-10 days. So your only option is to refuse delivery or return it yourself for all of these fees. Horrible, horrible. And forget about speaking with anyone who speaks good and real English as their customer service is "off shore" and they won't transfer you to anyone "on shore." I should've listened to my gut to begin with an NOT ORDERED from Catherine's. I also notice that this is now part of a larger conglomerate of stores including Woman Within which is another place you don't want to order from. Ugh...
I ordered 3 items, 2 were sent. 3rd on back order; but kept seeing ads for the item. Then they send me a notice saying my payment for the 3rd item wouldn't go through which is bull because the first two items were the same payment method. The third item that was backordered happened to be on sale when I placed the order. I think they were hoping I'd re-order it at the regular price by saying my payment failed but there is no way! This was the first time I did business with them and it will be the last! The 2 items I did receive weren't of great quality; way overpriced!
They have a plastic seam threw them out! Made in Pakistan. Why would you put a plastic seam. That would scratch someone skin don't get it.
Very slow shipping. I had to return all merchandise due to not fitting properly. Everything runs extremely large. When the items were returned, they did not give me a full refund. A month later I was charged a $18 fee. When I called to inquire about this charge they said it was their monthly fee for their rewards program that I did not sign up for. RIDICULOUS!
I received a charge from Catherine's and found out that it was for a subscription that I had no knowledge of. I called customer service and the agent canceled my subscription. I also requested that my funds be returned to my card. Waiting for that request to be filled,nothing yet. There is nothing on the website that states a charge would be debited off my card for a subscription. I decided to check the reviews and see if anyone else had this issue, and I see that I'm not the only one. If a company offers rewards be ethical and let that customer know what to expect with charges and membership. I just want my money refunded and my card number taken out of their database.
As in other complaints - I am still waiting for a refund from Jan 9 2024 and it's been 3 weeks. Called and was told the credit was issued and that was it. Asked to speak to supervisor and was hung up on. Also the bureaucracy of the purchase is really bad - I purchased from Catherines.com. Takes FOREVER to get your order once placed and the sizing is horrible! I am a 2X - but their 1X is WAY too big but the OX/XL is way too small? Makes no sense - it's just one size down.
My husband bought me a pair of boots never got them the shipped on Jan 3rd stuck in California since the 9th called was told they would arrive Jan 15th nothing called they said call back if you haven't received by 20th called then they said call back on 28th can't refund because they have been shipped they keep saying call back. They are terrible, cheat, scam they should not be able to sell look at all the unsatisfied customers it is really sad. I wont stop until i get the word out Catherines is a horrible store do not waist you time, money and effort they could care less! Thieves!
The person blamed PayPal for the it being the wrong address. However, PayPal had the right address. They refused to ship it out to the right address when it is returned. They have told me "too bad," and that I am just out the $53.98. I will never do business with them again.
My catalog said if I put code CAVFFS from the catalog that I would get free shipping if I spent $35.00. When I did that it threw me over to a page that said I had to sign up for a free trial which turns out to charging me $16.95 a month. I think this company is fraudulent. I don't ever plan on using them again, ever.
This company first time customer return policy says it's free this is only if you return the item and put it on the Catherine's card for future purchases I should have read the reviews but I'll be buying from this company ever again
I placed an order on December 17th for a coat from Catherines as a gift. I received 40% off by signing up for emails but paid $13.98 shipping. The order confirmation arrived with a "free shipping" offer if I joined their VIP program, which stated I'd receive this free shipping in the form of a rebate within 3 weeks. This language misled me to expect money back. Emailing customer service proved unhelpful with vague, inadequate responses over 11 days and 14 messages. Their online chat vanished after one attempt.
The coat was the wrong size, requiring exchange. Lacking a packing slip initially complicated this. Exchanging online meant returning through Happy Returns, getting store credit, losing my discount, and re-purchasing the product at full price as well as paying another shipping charge. Only by calling them did I finally get a paid return label to hopefully enable an equal exchange, which I was assured of. However, this exchange process also supposedly takes 3 weeks.
Today I learned the "free shipping rebate" would arrive in the form of a January 15th gift card applied to my rewards account, not money. Their documentation severly lacks clarity on this. After replying I wouldn't shop there again and that I needed this to be a monetary refund, I was denied, being told "we do not send our members money."
I find the handwritten forms and weeks-long wait for exchanges and refunds unacceptable in 2023. The limited and unsatisfactory return options through Happy Returns are ridiculous. I can pay a $10.99 fee to return the item for credit to my credit card. Or I can return it for free for a store credit I won't ever use.
My dissatisfaction is fueled by numerous negative online reviews exposing questionable Catherines business practices. I've submitted this to the BBB and also posted on their Facebook page, trying to warn people to never shop here.
Answer: File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. I had a problem with Catherine's overcharging me for shipping and couldn't get satisfaction. After I filed a claim with the BBB, I heard from Catherine's within 24 hours and they agreed to reimburse me..
