I had a client request for a piece using beads from a site she had found. I checked out Cobeads and warned her that it was located in China. Generally companies from this country have a lack of integrity and notoriously bad customer service. It was quite disappointing to learn that this was true for Cobeads.

Part of my order was OK, nothing special or outstanding. Three of my items were not the same quality/grade as pictured. The Maifanite that my client wanted consisted of oranges and yellows with many clearly defined bullseyes. The Amazonite and Peridot were transparent with color ranging from light to dark. Unfortunately the Maifanite I received was a dull murky gray with dull tans. The bullseyes were mostly random swirls, not clearly defined as they were in the listing. The Amazonite and Peridot were both very opaque/milky with little color variance in shade. It is natural for there to be differences between the images in their listing and the actual item, however, completely different colors, patterns, and grade are simple deception.

I sent 6 emails in total to their customer service. Two of them included images from the website and items received to illustrate the issues. I also clearly explained the difference in quality and grade. Each time I was given a different answer and run-around. At no time did they offer resolution or accept that they were responsible for not shipping what they advertised.

My client was pretty disappointed as was I. If you don't mind getting something different from what you have ordered then this is the place for you. If you would prefer to get what you paid for, then skip this company. There are many more reputable companies out there that are trustworthy and will treat you with respect.
