Everything went smooth and worked the way I wanted it to. Phone was unlocked first try.

I'd never heard of Direct Unlocks or even the ability to unlock a phone online - I thought I'd have to take the phone to a dodgy-looking phone shop for a cheap unlock. But the process with DU was easy and I was kept well informed even though it took quite a bit longer than they anticipated. Cost £12 for their initial charge and a further £26 for EE's unlock fee. I would definitely recommend DU and would use them again.

I placed an order with DirectUnlocks on August 2,2025 for an iPhone 16 Plus (AT&T USA). After paying $24.99 for an "Eligibility Check", they asked for another $68 to proceed with the unlocking, yet never delivered the unlock. When I requested a refund, instead of returning my money, they issued a "credit note"—a store credit I never asked for and can't use elsewhere. This isn't an isolated incident. Multiple users have experienced the same: "Direct Unlocks is a scam… When I asked for my money back, they refused as refunds are not their policy."
On BBB, one user says: "They charged $28.99 initially… then $50.00. When it couldn't unlock, they offered only credit, not cash refund."
Another Trustpilot reviewer shared: "I paid $88.99… unlock failed, refund denied, credit note is useless."
And from Sitejabber: "The phone remained locked. The company did not refund money for work not done."
This pattern—charge twice, fail to deliver, refuse a cash refund—is classic bait-and-switch. Their Refund Policy even explicitly states that Eligibility Checks are non-refundable and refunds for Android phones not prompting for a code are only in the form of credit notes. Bottom line: I'm out nearly $93 with nothing to show for it. If you're considering this service, beware. Make sure you're comfortable accepting store credit—and even then, there's no guarantee they'll complete the service.

Though it took a while but I was patient just from reading other users review. The process was seamless and very straightforward. I would recommend this service again.

I'm happy. This website is very helpful to unlock the phone.

All I had to do was give them the info for the phone and they handled the rest. It did what it said it was supposed to do and now I got my phone connected to a different service provider.

I requested an unlock for my phone and within minutes I had the email to say it was possible to unlock my phone. Once I received the email which was extremely quick, I then clicked on that and my phone was unlocked. Thank you for your help and speed in sorting this for me.

You have to be patient they told me to wait 3 days and I entered every minute of the day and in the end when I thought it didn't work they unlocked my phone

Was easy and seamless. After the process started I didnt had to do anything else, just let them work their magic. Although there was a hiccup with the unlock, they were able to work it out and the phone is fully unlocked and working perfectly!
