Do not be taken in by the large, red, "Only $29.95/mo!" in their ads. This is only a promotion, and they are sneaky about hiding the truth of the price you WILL be paying once they've locked you into their two-year contract. To add insult to injury, their channel packages are incredibly sparse unless you pay a lot extra for the higher tiers. And way too many are not in HD -- even in 2015! DirecTV charges more for their lowest package, but that lowest package offers more channels, and more in HD, than all but Dish's most expensive packages. There is no comparison, especially if you use a multi-channel DVR (Dish is far more restrictive of what and when you can record, particularly in Prime Time, than DirecTV which is pretty much unrestricted). They cannot compete on quality of service, so they try to compete on price -- which invariably means cutting corners. But they are at least providing price competition in the cable/sat marketplace. That is pretty much their only useful function anymore (unless you have no other option to get TV for some reason).
No option to go anywhere else (I live out in the country and Direct TV is is worst). The DVR keeps breaking, the bill keeps increasing.
Dish makes a lot of claims on their TV commercials, but many of them are smoke and mirrors. Do not be taken in by the large, red, "Only $29.95/mo!" in their ads. I quit using dish network because their pages is higher then any other dish network.
When you add up all their prices on a yearly basis, you're actually paying more for the 3 basic services: TV, Phone, Internet; than you would with cable providers.
What's the point? To have a dish on your roof? And no service when the weather turns bad?
If the hand could talk about a bad review, I believe that it would say that it would give them a NUMBER1. Because there equipment they claim is the best in the industry. I say what industry? Must be their own set up industry. Because the pricing is the cheapest of satellite tv world, but their equipment they charge for is top dog in the market for Junk! From first had experience.
I have had dish for years. I like it over the other sites but I think they are fairly expensive for the programs. We pay 150.00 a month. I buy my own receivers so I don't have contracts and they make me pay for each one to connect anyway. But I can stop anytime I want
Answer: Because it sounds great to have 1200 channels even if 1195 channels are nothing but infomercials, most people like me think wow I will have so many movies to watch I might have to record 5 while I watch 1 but after you get your 1200 channels you realize most every movie you would like to see can only be viewed if you pay an extra rental fee, another huge disadvantage to satellite tv is the frequency of commercials and the time the commercials are shown, regular tv used to be a 2 minute commercial break, dish network and directv have over 5 minute commercial breaks
Answer: Yes ive been with them for 15 years and when i said this is ridiculous the guy said 'OK' and nothing more they are terrible
Answer: They bait and switch with their supposed DVR recording option that they change to On Demand, making it impossible for you to watch what you thought you recorded.
