The worst.
August 9, 2019

Shares ALL datas with greedy 3rd parties, like Name/ age/ *******@il/ IRLinfos/ pages u open, etc etc

If despite all this u decide to give it a go, then be ready for a hell of a spam in your mailbox everyday... not to forget they'll delete any comment/thread they dont like (criticism about disqus acting like a spyware is number 1 reason for deleting posts/threads).

Stay away, far away from it: just read the "privacy politics" page, u'll get a glance of the -non existant- "privacy"...

The main problem with Disqus is that they allow the trolls to overrun a site to annoy the other posters, call them names, and shut down the conversation. Trolls seem to have no life other than to prove how annoying they can be and overwhelm any opposing views.

Great service!
July 25, 2019

I love using Disqus! The ease of commenting and the ability to follow threads, combined with the creation of a recoverable history of your own comments make this the best comments service I've encountered.

Disqus is a comprehensive commenting system and it does a great job when it comes to moderation. If you ever need help or technical support, be prepared to receive zero response even if you're a Pro account user. I had an issue about payment and they took more than two weeks to reply to me. Imagine me as a customer that is trying to pay them but they didn't entertain my complaints after 3 follow up emails. Eventually, I solved the issue on my own almost 3 weeks alter.

For a service that charges 99 USD a month for a Pro account, I would expect support that can respond within 3 days.

I am a Liberal, last year for no good reason I responded to a political article defending Obama last year which was respectful and not attacking anyone verbally and then I was banned from commenting, I have emailed Disque asking them why and I have yet to get a reply, even on FB I have asked them and they just ignore me.

Disqus is an opinion site on TMZ, Radar online, etc. I have tried to comment on a report usually on another accused but acquitted pedophile. My comments although against such grotesque acts in children are always removed. I believe Disqus is biased towards Hollywood. It does not matter the crime. Disqus does not let you post your opinion! I hate it!

What a hypocritical left wing site. If your views do not conform to the collective you will be blocked on this site. Do not waste your time posting / commenting on this site or ABC news. Just like the socialist view and agenda that these sites promote, they run their sites likewise. In addition there is no way to contact them to discuss or inquire as to why you were blocked. What a bunch of closed minded hypocrites.

Poor service
July 15, 2019

I have had my post flagged as spam, presumably because it has paragraphs. Others have experienced the same. There is a somewhat hard-to-find button to report it, but 3 to 4 days later, no change or response. Even so, I might have given 2 stars, but I took another off as clicking on my alerts on the Disqus icon brings to an ad page, and I have to click Back and click the icon again. An irritating exploitation of users.

TERRIBLE
July 3, 2019

For some reason ALL of my comments get flagged as spam even though I am NOT posting spam. I tried reporting the issue and apparently they've "been working on it" for over half a year and have STILL not fixed the problem.

EDIT
While trying to contact support I found this bit of information that makes me lose even more respect for this company I already had no respect for.

"Direct support is reserved for paying publishers and large forum moderators. For more information on support levels, see Disqus Plans and Pricing."

What? I have to be a PAID member for you guys to be willing to give me direct support? So that mean that even though they are "working on" my flagged comments (That AREN'T spam but have been flagged as for some reason) that they are actually NOT because that would require DIRECT SUPPORT witch is RESERVED FOR PAID MEMBERS ONLY!

WHAT WEB SITE CHARGES FOR DIRECT SUPPORT?!

I comment regularly on China newsmostly by contributing statistics (which come mostly from sources like the WTO, the CIA, IMF, etc.

My comments are always polite and relevant and Disqus blocks them without permission of the site owners.

When I inform the site owners they apologize and de-block me but often Disqus ignores them.

The situation is so ridiculous that this week Disqus blocked a comment I made on Treehugger.com, an environment site, about handling bees and wasps that are drowning in swim pools!

Kill The Captchas.
June 3, 2019

Great until they adopted the appalling Captcha login Awful until they revert. There seems to be little logic in making logging more difficult. They will lose users because of adopting this despised system.

System sucks
May 17, 2019

Tried to change email in acount but won't take new one in settings. Sorry but showing articles with no contact number, no chat room sucks. If there was an alternate I'd take it.

Horrible customer services for publishers as Disqus representatives refuse to address the 100% negative feedback from their implementation of the ugly and horrible "collapsed replies."

How does a commenting system justify implementing a feature that DISCOURAGES commenting interactions?

For years now whenever I try to comment favorably on a concept increasingly disliked by liberal media, I get a generic Disqus error message. But when my comment is in line with the general media sentiments, I can comment just fine. It happens far too consistently to be due to chance. I'm confident Disqus is just another social media site engaging in social engineering. Of course it fails. You can't stop people from holding the values they do or having the perceptions they have simply by silencing them on your platform.

Shame on any media site that censors polite, legal, respectful comments JUST because the theses don't give with those of the site and its supporters.

First, the rooms of the site are filled with atheists who always go to the religion section. The first rule of disqus is "no insults," yet, atheists are allowed to gush insults to Christians in every comment without so much as a warning from the moderators, whereas Christians who use the word 'stupid' will have their comment removed and be threatened with banning. This is because the moderators there are all atheist liberals. Moreover, there are moderators there who will actually participate in the abuse, and sometimes even instigate it. -- Edit/addition: Commenting on the news site pages from a Biblical perspective is inviting the wrath of the unsaved which insists that the Bible is a lie and G-d is a liar. The endless lies and endless hypocrisy of the unsaved illuminate Matthew 23, and make clear that adhering to the satanic verses of the talmud is why gentiles hate us so much.

If you don't mention G-d, don't mention the Scriptures (even the OT), don't mention the Jewishness of them, and if you don't mention anything about sin... if you don't mention that we have all failed G-d in every way including what the chosen were chosen for, and if you don't provide Biblical support of what you claim, then you'll be just fine. One word of Biblical truth regarding the condition of humanity and its spiritual condition will result in your verbal crucifixion like you've never imagined possible (Matthew 7:6). There are no moderators present on the news pages, and "the good and the proud" are free to contaminate and destroy like an oil spill in an ocean.

A gutless wannabee
February 15, 2019

There are a lot of hosting sites out there. They succeed or fail by being reliable platforms for peoples views and opinions without jading the input or censoring the output. It is their reliability as a forum that makes them useful. Imagine the Roman Forum policed by guys with truncheons?
Disqus has failed in this basic requirement. It skews what you can see and censors what is provided.

The newer iteration of this platform is horrible. It flags half of my comments as SPAM. Why? Because when discussing a subject I support my position with quotes from published peer-reviewed studies. These quotes often get repeated and the system thinks it is SPAM. This is a much higher quality level of discussion than is typical, it is absurd to mark it as spam. Do they want the discussions filled with mindless trolling or quality research?

(and the support people do nothing to help me)
