For unknown reasons, Edgenuity abruptly changed all student passwords overnight, as in Thursday it was their original and Friday (10/23/20) it was new. Parents were unaware of the changes, teachers were unaware of the changes, request for the changes was not on our end according to bosses. I only found out the changes due to reaching out to other teachers. Some of them found when checking, that the passwords were changed and it was recorded in the teacher list within the site. I checked mine when parents reached out, the passwords had remained the same. I was perplexed but sent the one other teachers said would work. It did. I contacted support for help. The email message said, thanks for contacting, they had no idea what was going on. I called the support. The gentleman told me it was my computer that was at fault. I update my device regularly and shut it down daily. It had not updated student passwords until today, 10/27/2020. Every time a teacher reaches out for support, we are pushed back on as something that is our problem and it can't be fixed on their end. Also, content areas are weak and filled with errors.

Awesome Content
November 25, 2020

As a veteran teacher, I have been most impressed with the lessons on Edgenuity. The content is solid. The lesson process is a scaffolding process which is exactly what should be taking place in the traditional classroom. The quizzes and test are thorough. They do require more than rote memory. They require that you have paid attention to each lesson and can apply the information presented to you. THIS is where traditional classrooms are deficient. Many times the teacher makes the class wait on students who were absent or have special needs. Edgenuity does not make you wait. You are only accountable to yourself.

My children are just not able to learn efficiently on this app. It is the most boring, time consuming thing that encourages rote learning. I thought we got beyond that? Did my school district simply purchase the cheapest platform out there? My kids are normally A and B, bright and happy students. My 10th grader has several classes that use Edginuity exclusively for the class, and surprise, she has A's in all classes that use other forms of learning and F's in the Edginuity classes. I even attempted to help and we got a 50% on a quiz, when I had a college gpa between 3.8 and 3.97. There is no excitement in learning with this thing, and she is getting so discouraged thinking there is no point to school. This is scary and I'm doing everything I can to try and teach all 7 classes myself, but I am not a chemistry teacher or mathematician, and I have a younger child and keeping him on track as well. I can't imagine a parent with more children.

Our local elementary school gave this as its online option for covid school. It took 2 weeks to get user names and passwords, another week and a half to wait for the workbooks. There are still assignments that the school does not provide materials for, these are sometimes marked as optional but not always. Our school district issued chromebooks to its students well guess what the program is NOT fully compatible with chromebooks. We are unable to complete any recording assignments with their provided "widget". It is beyond ridiculous to expect kindergardeners, 1st, 2nd, 3rd graders to self navigate thru this disastrous platform let alone scan their work from the workbooks and rename and save each page to their google drive (because the chromebook doesn't have a hard drive) then go thru their crappy program find the right place to upload each assignment attach each page individually and submit. And pray to god you don't miss a page! The program is so glitchy my kids have lost progress had Edgenuity tell them they had no other work to do and that they are ahead in every subject then the next day (which was a weekend) say they had 30 assignments missing WTF?! If I could give this negative stars I would! The tutorials don't match up to what really needs to be done supremely frustrating especially for people that are not tech savvy! This program is useless my kids are totally stressed and now HATE schooling. This program is causing me to seriously consider homeschooling my kids. WORST LEARNING PROGRAM EVER! Yes I will be putting Edgenuity on blast on Facebook!

I have taught math with an Edgenuity product (Odysseyware) for over 10 years. The product, at least for math, was poorly designed, is not engaging, and contains many errors. It is not at all user-friendly for the student. I was designed for credit-recovery, so intended to be "hands-off" so there are no real communication protocols in place. There is a rudimentary messaging system, but so way to add supplementary material or clarifying information to lessons. It is basically a fake school because a student can be enrolled, pass courses and graduate without learning any content knowledge. This is a problem for ALL students and horribly depressing for teachers. I have had a student finish a course in 2 days and earn a credit without reading a word because all of the decades-old questions are available word for word on brainly.com with the exact wording of the correct answers at your fingertips. Even a good, honest, hard-working student would be frustrated because the lessons are inconsistent and as bare as possible. OW has replaced any organized instructional material with videos of an actor reading some presentation. There is no way for the student to go back and see examples or copy information for notes. The content is so old, and errors so plentiful that it's unbelievable educational commissions would approve the curriculum. The lessons are so monotonous that students get bored, and even the well-intentioned students start taking shortcuts. If you want a credit, or a diploma, you can get it here, and collect the federal funding for your numbers. If you want to learn math, go somewhere else.

Edgenuity
October 25, 2020

The team was very helpful and were fast in responding! They walked me through the steps of fixing the issue and were very persistent in making sure everything was working again. Edgenuity froze in my Science class so I couldn't continue working on it. It is working now and I haven't had issues since! Overall, Edgenuity is a great website for online school and I really like how it's formatted!

I had some issues with Edgenuity at the start of this school year and at that time I opted to not give a review, because 1 was too many stars, and I needed my time because it was clear I was going to have to solve the problem myself. I then had a new difficulty a couple of days ago and decided to email their tech support for help as I was leaving school. My expectations were perilously low because of my previous experience. Next morning I had an email with exact clear solution to the issue! I was surprised and pleased. Customer service gets 5 stars. The rest of Edgenuity as a learning platform, is about average. It can be what you make it. Kind of like cooking chicken. It always tastes llike chicken, but if you spice it up, it's pretty good.

Awful
November 20, 2020

I understand that during a pandemic, many districts have turned to online learning platforms. It would be hard to find one worse than Edgenuity. Once you get passed the 7 steps to save an upload a file (before determining you can just upload a photo), you get to tangle with wrong quizzes and online activities, paragraphs of text my first grader can't follow or read on her own, little cohesion, and a rapidly accelerating expectation of work. Do some research and you will find they have given money to lobbyist groups and value students as numbers and view teachers as project managers. Somehow, 1st grade was unable to opt out of using this, although K and 2nd grade did at our school. I don't expect to NOT help my 6 year old while she's remote learning, but I DO expect a program which has correct answers and follows her grade level.

My heart literally hurts watching what my 10th grader has had to deal with using Edgenuity. Unfortunately for my son the Queen Creek School District chose to outsource the online option to Edgenuity and it's been terrible in so many ways. The mind-numbing power points with zero interaction are a horrible way to try to learn. There have been several assignments that just don't make any sense. He was asked to complete a lab as well as discuss with his peers. Obviously, neither were possible and it's just so weird and confusing to be asked to do impossible assignments. He is currently taking a course that requires a textbook. Yet, no advance notice or communication was given and we are not able to get the book. If I could give it zero stars I would

My son's are both using Edgenuity during Covid with LAUSD. They say that the assignments take too long. That may be a problem with the assignments that the teacher gives. Also, one says that "It has a super boring voice" So, I imagine that it is really hard to develop a learning platform. Hopefully it will improve over time to help our kids. Thanks.

RIDICULOUS!
November 13, 2020

No books, No real lesson, quizzes that don't always align with the material. Tons of busy work, but nothing substantial. My A+ Math student is now failing because the lesson is lacking any real instruction and no help from the school. My kids have learned more from those workbooks you buy in the store than they are with this program. This program sets our kids up to fail. I think the school district picked the cheapest program they could.

Absolute nightmare
November 8, 2020

I have 3 children using Edgenuity through our local school district. It is horrific. It is over-complicated, glitchy, not user-friendly (ESPECIALLY for children), and there are typos and errors in questions on exams. I cannot believe our district chose to use this company.

Parental Concerns
November 8, 2020

The quiz system has flaws. My son worked with a high school math tutor on one of his quizzes, and two out of the 10 answers came out wrong, both answers correct. The idea you cannot move on, if you do not pass something, causes significant delay in the process, and causes you to fall behind. It is not a good platform for middle school students.

The amount of stress this ridiculous program has caused my 7th grade honor student, is unbelievable. If logged in too long, it counts idle times against her grades, if not logging enough time, she is failing due to lack of time spent. She spends literal hours printing pages, filling out "guided notes," taking pictures of each page and uploads them every week to prove she is working. The alternative to printing at home is to run another software program simultaneously called Kami, resize each text box, type in her "guided notes," and upload these pages to Google docs. Her whole class started 2 days after the teacher had set them up, which means not only were her assignments Month 1, week 2 actually skewed ( and she had to remember to accurately title each upload accordingly to NOT coincide with the programs dates,) but it also meant that the ever and continually fluctuating grade percentage calculator would show a failing grade. Since she was started 2 days after the program marked students as "start date," this means no matter how much work she would do, she would always be 2 days behind and thus failing. Talk about demotivating.

Egregious
November 6, 2020

This was the platform offered to the virtual learning students where my 7 year old attends school. After hours of frustration and wasted time, my son hit the nail on the head when he said, "learning isn't supposed to be like this."
I improvised moment to moment and was able to offer my child so much more that this farcical platform. That should be no surprise since I am genuinely invested in my son's intellectual curiosity and not trying to make a financial gain at the expense of trusting parents and teachers.

RUDE
November 6, 2020

Personally I think that this website has some rude responses when you get your answer wrong. I think that is bs I hear my child crying because the people are rude once they got the question wrong. I will be having my son get off of this sight it is so degrading for him.

My daughter is normally a good student. This engenuity program has quizzes and unit test daily. The teachers are boring and monotone. It's too much work and they make it more difficult than it has to be. It's like they want the kids in school so they set them up to fail.

First off. AAAAAAAA. Second off the written question system is absolute bullocks. I've had the site ask me for my opinion, and it gives me a 0 for it. Rubbish. Also, most of the lessons are fairly longer than they should be. I've been able to edit the videos to 60% of the original size by taking off repeated info alone. If you are a teacher/administrator/principle/superintendent, please from a student,
Hope that other students don't have to deal with this nightmare of a online learning platform!
