I was on the phone with a women she acted all nice tried to cover every thing up with will pay for this if you get this movie you'll get like 800$ then she brought up the fees why the hell would I submit 200$ + for and website to help with auditions it's supposed to be free
I was told I was guaranteed a supporting in Fast and Furious 8. I was told I would receive the script in June. June came and went. No script. I then called them and Ethel ( one of the reps) told me I would receive the script now in July because they had an issue, but assured me over and over again that I had secured the role in the movie. That the directors were just wanting local talent and I fit the profile the role was mine! Today I received a call telling me that the role was never mine. That I was never guaranteed the job, and that I was never supposed to receive a script and they never deal with directors when handling scripts! I have recorded conversations with this lady stating I have the job! I would love to get a lawyer and sue this company to close them down. I am certain I could probably find many, many people who have been scammed by them! Do not work with them! And if you do work with them I suggest you do not waist your money on the web site and profile. Get an agent!
I have always been told, you should never have to pay anyone anything until you've landed a role, anything or anyone that says you have to means you should go elsewhere. So against my better judgement February of 2015 I decided to pay the $120 fee to become a pro member. I figured since I wasn't doing very well on my own, maybe this would be better at helping me get started. When I initially started I did receive a few auditions and a call from my rep about once a week, which the consistency only lasted a month. Throughout the year I would receive maybe one email a month, if that. So yesterday (July 2016) I received a call about being want to audition for Transformers 5 and Wolverine 3. The lady I couldn't really understand her and she had a very thick northern accent. As she continued to explain she started to say the casting directors won't be able to contact you unless you become a pro member. She kept trying to force me to give her a credit card number, but after multiple times of me telling her I didn't have that information with me, she sat quiet on the phone for about 10 seconds, and just hung up on me! Very rude, and I think the whole thing was a waste of time to begin with, but she really was the straw that broke the camel's back.
I've been on this site for awhile now and had been getting phone calls to start work several big name actors/actresses but I needed to be a pro, but I had no money at the time... then a few months later I got another call from them and they said I'd be with Dwayne Johnson and a few other big names in a movie... I looked up the name of the movie and they are making it but I was to get a call within 6 weeks and that was 6 months ago... you might have big dreams but go with someone else for them...
If i could give 0 stars, I would. Please do not fall for this. I made a profile on the website without paying VIP a week or 2 ago and ever since have been getting calls to star in the Wolverine. I've been ignoring the calls because of the reviews i've read. Just moments ago, I got a call while in the car with my brother in law. Since I am underage, they asked to speak with him. I whispered to him that it was a scam and so he politely said I wasn't interested and that it was a mistake. The lady who called us began acting really rude, saying "how the hell is she not interested if she filled out the profile?". My brother said that she didn't have to be rude considering he was being polite. The woman then proceeded to say "I can be rude if I want, don't tell me what I can and can't do." After this, he hung up. This was obviously a scam and even if it wasn't, that wasn't at all a way to speak to a customer.
How do you get people to stop calling? Or take your number off your profile?
Be very careful if you decide to join. Its a guy on there that's a talent that say he can help you with you career. First he will friend you on Explore Talent after you do he will send you an email asking you to text him if you have any questions about auditioning. He says he been in this business for a while, says he met all these celebrities but doesn't have any proof. He will set up a time to call you asked about your pictures how pretty you are and says you need good headshot a and body photos. He will look up headshot photography around where you live and will say they do bikini/ lingerie and when you get the bikini/ lingerie to send it to him to see if your poses are what the industry are looking for. I refused he got very upset saying I'm foolish, I'm not going to make any money that he seen a lot of girls before it's not a problem. He also repeats what Tyra banks and other models have said before. It claims he's always at a audition but can't tell me what movie he has done. I learnt after all this that he isn't a pro member just looking for weak minded women's who are willing to do anything to be in the industry. I'm not one of them so I'm warning other women that he's a fraud and can't help you nor himself get into the industry. Ladies please be very careful
Made the mistake of posting a profile but didn't go through with paying for the VIP yet. I wanted to give it some thought. Commonsense took over thank God and decided to look them up on the BBB. They are not credited which they said they were. That's right the better business bureau they are not credited. And now they are bombarding my phone and driving me absolutely crazy even though I told them I'm not interested anymore. You lied to me once by saying that your accredited business when you're not. If you lie about that you'll lie about other things.
They called about my daughter. I told them we live in the state of Arkansas. They said That she would be okayTraveling alone. But she is a 10 year old minor. I said I'm not letting her travel alone And whoever wants her as an extra or whatever they would have to pay her and my airfare plus hotel accommodations. They said that that would happen. Also told them that they would have to wait till the next day because I'm not giving out my bank card over the phone. But I would need to go to Walmart and get a prepaid card. They said it be okay to go ahead and give my card to them because they delete that information the next business day. But I've read other people had trouble with them constantly Running their card for another year They also said I had two days to contact them or else The whole thing would be non valid. Needed to give this three-star so that this would show up
I don't know why there are so many SCAM reviews on here. First of all, you have to pay for any web site or profile. I think some people think you are going to get everything for free in life. No you do not PAY for acting jobs or auditions, but sometimes you DO have to pay for web sites and to be seen. I got a few small jobs from Explore Talent that were legit then I let my subscription expire. I still had my profile but I could not be contacted by directors and could not submit. I too was called about a job for a major motion picture. I recorded the conversation and renewed my subscription, I told my advisor how I was concerned this was a scam to get me to renew and she advised me that if I did not get the job she would refund every penny of my subscription to the sight no questions asked. After the weekend I called her back again to confirm all the information. She called me back and told me more information on the project. So far everything I have done with them has been legit! Everyone has always been polite and helpful!
My husband received a voicemail today from a Las Vegas number saying that based off his photos he'd been chosen for a lead role in the new Fast Furious 8 movie. He never renewed his Explore Talent profile (it expired in 2015) so this was clearly a scam to get him to pay $288 to renew his profile for a full year. But here's the catch. In order for him to get the information for the audition he would have to pay the $288. They refused to give him any information unless he paid. As he's getting ready to give Maxi (the extremely rude rep who called) his credit card information I ran into the kitchen telling him not to do it. Any agency like this who makes you pay to get an audition is a scam. We had no proof that he would be even be guaranteed a role or get paid for auditioning. When speaking with Maxi later on the phone he explained that he didn't feel comfortable giving the agency money to audition for a role and that if the CD was serious about casting him, they could give him a call. She said "F$#@ you" and hung up on my husband.
Great business (eyes rolling sarcastically).
SCREW YOU EXPLORE TALENT! If you're reading this read the other reviews in addition to mine who all say the same thing. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!
Hello. I am Betty Meyer. I found the link for Explore Talent and decided to give it a try. At first I was suspicious. I got a role in an up coming movie and one year modeling contract! It has been a great experience being with Explore Talent. I don't know why it took me so long to sign up with this site.
I think its a scam too! I got a call to saying to the same thing about some movie, "babywatch" and that Jamie Fox was looking for me and I listened and believed it. And they told me that I had to pay my money before they could book any appointments and I payed and I haven't hear from them since then. I was suppose to be working with this lady named Katrina for a year and now my times almost up and I payed all this money and I haven't had one appointment yet! I want my money back and I'm going to get it that was $300 wasted my formal is coming up and now my dad's mad at me and won't buy me and shoes for the formal because they wasted his money, screw this!
So I get a call that my daughter has been chosen by the casting director of the Transformers movie and she is "perfect for the role". After a few phone calls I find out that since her account isn't up to date (and hasn't been for atleast 4 years) then my daughter isn't eligible to audition. I said so you are telling me that if I don't pay to update her profile, then she can't get the audition information? I was told, "that's right". This is Bull! It's all a LIE to get people to spend money they don't have. Please don't fall for their lies.
Okay the reason why other people are saying it's a scam is because 1. Either never got the role they wanted. 2. OR DIDN'T do the application right, or 3. Couldn't or wouldn't pay, so they're trying to get a bad rep for this site, if you want to act, model, sing or whatever. Their are some big chances you have to take, it's not just going to come to you one day and say "hey you're famous" like you actually have to work and try hard for this.
This is fake! Tricking kids ages thirteen like me or below and above?!?! Like you guys, you got the call about baywatch, transformers, fast 8 blah blah blah cool cool cool, blah blah blah, we want your money, blah blah BLAH! Its like you get everyones hopes up and expect us to believe that your casting director is close or in town!? How unbelievable because i have gone to many acting classes to prove i am worthy just to be shut down. Disappointed
You get what you pay for, Explore talent provides a place for new and experienced models actors to grow their careers. I want to thank Explore Talent for this cool opportunity. My daughter landed a great movie role in an upcoming feature film in just few days as a member. Today we just heard from another director who would like to cast her in another feature film! Thanks so much...
So, i got a call, email and text like everyone else about me getting a speaking role in Fast & Furious 8 and that the casting director tried to contact me but couldn't since my account was no longer active. I asked then how did they see my profile if my account is inactive? Anyway, an obvious scam. What confirmed it is when they called me a few days later for my son, saying the exact same thing! Just so you all know if you have paid them, don't worry, call your credit card company and tell them it was a fraudulent charge. They will credit you that amount and change your card no questions asked.
... As a guy who worked and works many movie and television sets, (including the pretty cool TV Hit HAWAII FIVE-O here in lovely HAWAII), I've NEVER heard of "Explore Talent". --- Bunch of obvious duechbags who leave messages about $800. To $2,200. Work days. SCAM ALERT. - - - NO REAL CASTING DIRECTOR IS GOING TO MAKE YOU SIGN IN... TO A PAY SITE.
- I JUST HOPE THE WORD SPREADS SO THEY DON'T CONTINUE RIPPING OFF HUNGRY uneducated NEWCOMERS.
Contact BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU and or your local state FILM COMMISSIONER for advice.

Just a tip of advice, when it comes to company's legibility, the most reliable source of information is the Better Business Bureau. Go to: www.bbb.org - and then type-in the certain company's name if it's legit or not. When you see it there that it is accredited with BBB then that only means that it's legit. DO NOT JUST LISTEN OR BELIEVE TO SOME OF THOSE AUTOMATED MESSAGES BECAUSE SOME OF THOSE ARE JUST DETRACTORS FROM OTHER CASTING COMPANY ASWELL. It is still a business after all. I hope this will help you guys.
