Horrible site, flooded with unfiltered/unrestricted NSFW, fetish filth, sexualised animals and pornographic material that anyone, including minors can accidentally run into. Browsing with 'safe mode' on does absolutely nothing to hide the NSFW and other vulgar content from view.
If you're a SFW only artist like myself, you're going to find it impossible to get any traction or build an audience there, and I'm not sure why you'd want any association with a site known to willingly host illegal NSFW content/animal abusers anyway.
I've given this site and community several chances over the years, but every time I checked back in I found that things got progressively worse so I ended up voluntarily deleting my account and leaving again. Every time I tried to be active and post my art, everything got completely ignored and I got no engagement on anything no matter how long I was active for or what I posted, so there wasn't any reason for me to stay there and continue bashing my head against the proverbial brick wall, and I don't want anything to do with the absolutely vile NSFW side of the site that's been left to run rampant and unmoderated.
This kind of thing is the reason why furries have a negative reputation, avoid the site at all costs.
(there's way too much uncensored NSFW stuff on the site that I don't think it would be appropriate to post screenshot proof here)
Avoid at all costs!

I was on Furaffinity for 9 years from 2016 to 2025. I was coming up on the 10 year anniversary and a shadow moderator decided to just get me permabanned because they don't like me. The moderation team makes up rules on the fly and bans people without notice. You can't even inform anyone on the platform you were banned, or WHY. So the bullies that flag your work can just say whatever; case in point, WoWn00bify bullying Badgefox off the platform and facing no repercussions for it. The moderation team runs off of cliques, not rules in the TOS. Offending one of their "invisible friends" gets people banned more often than not, and there are many pdf files who have been on the platform because it's a 13+ website orientated to ADULT ONLY content. It makes you feel dirty because sometimes kids will lie about their age when commissioning a person. Other times people run scams in the notes. The creators have a DARVO campaign going for years now; Deny, Attack/Avoid, Reverse Victim and Offender. They will ban people who reach out to them for customer support and they do not care about the 5 strike system THEY created. I got permabanned on the3rd strike for something not in the terms of service, and they did not care to hear my side. All they wanted was to defend their shadow moderator that bullied me. I'm off the platform now. Deviantart is much better. Furaffinity's stance on AI is that even if you provide evidence it isn't AI, you can still get banned because some random joe "thought" it was, and the moderators don't care about evidence. That's what happened to me. People have been running Among Us Style Accusations against people randomly accusing them of using AI because they are jealous that their own art draws little traction. The art community on the platform has been through it and hates the moderation team. The Website's UI is so outdated that you still cannot block tags, and THOUSANDS of art pieces are improperly/untagged. This includes fetish art, which is the worst offending content for a 13+ site. People do not care what tier it is as long as they can get away with it. You don't want to know how much daiper art I have seen. It's disturbing. There are many, MANY fetishes that are also untagged. The biggest ones are vore, paw fetish art and anything LGBT, which is a community entirely about being sexual... in the NON SEXUAL SECTION. Then there are the politics. For rthose of you who do not know, furaffinity is HARDCORE liberal, and they actively stalk their own users on other platforms to tone police// extort their FA account. If they don't like your opinion, they que your email to see if it's in their database and delete your account for something they legally should not be allowed too punish you for. It violates your 1st right amendment and they make you sign a contract saying you cannot sue them for it. It's also a contract they can change at ANY MOMENT, so you can never actually assume you are safe on the platform. Every day is a gamble. The entire platform is dragging the furry fanbase down, because there are multiple instances of FAMILY FRIENDLY characters being drawn in the thirstiest ways imaginable and put in the SFW section and especially the NSFW section. Building a fanbase on the platform means nothing either, because those people are like a CULT. They will NOT follow you to other social media, because Furaffinity is very clique-y and highly judged for cursing everyones eyes. It also hosted actual pdf files like Jasonafex while banning freshly made accounts for one offense. If your art gets stolen then you're fresh out of luck, because the moderation team themselves reported that they have had a backlog of THOUSANDS of tickets that they were kept from handling under IMVU management. Sometimes they never respond, and if you call them about it, they will ban you for that instead. Then there is a completely different issue all together; the website is the BIGGEST CONTROVERSY GENERATOR to the furry fanbase. Many controversies come from this site. It's such an issue that when the owner of the platform died, the website was instantly hacked just to troll everyone. The official user count being over 1 milliono is also not credible. When you go on the platform, NO ONE watches your work. It's a ghost site. You are literally forced to draw NSFW and forced to be good at it. I have seen excellent sfw artist just be ignored because the site is plagued by horndogs who have NSFW mode on permanently. Even worse, sometimes they will comment something inappropriate on a SFW commission. They are very bold. Sometimes the people who have already watched you will force you to draw NSFW for views and then comment that you're "bad" at it. Otherwise they don't look at your art. Other times your work will BLOW UP, and no one follows you anyway (this happened to me twice). People on the platform enjoy being very preachy about things that have nothing to do with the furry fandom. They're so preachy that their art quality never really improves. Over the years, all of the insanely good and talented creators have slowly been bullied off the platform and left due to people trying to forcibly harass them into a commission or trade (trades are never good). Other times the moderation team secretly harasses and bans people and you don't find out until they are back on the platform. It's an ART website, but it's really run like an emotional dictatorship. A large group of people have been brainwashed into never calling out the flaws on the website, because the moderation team will instaban them for having morals or a backbone about what's happened. Everyone who uses the platform is susceptible to being coerced into accepting whatever politics the moderators choose to have, because they stalk popular creators and ban them for whatever. So all in all, you really, REALLY do not want to use this site for anything. It's more a scar on your reputation than anything else.
The website needs to be shut down.
Their Web Services and Donator Tier
Ever since their partnership with IMVU caved in, this site has been on a downward spiral ever since 2016. Say what you will about the rampant degeneracy of the users of this site - there are plenty of reasons to avoid using this site if you are part of the furry subculture, yet you are forced to do so because this is the one which everyone uses.
The site's infrastructure is permanently locked to using a long since obsolete build of the backend used by DeviantArt circa 2005. This is because the staff never paid the web developer for any of his work and kept fobbing it off, saying IMVU would be covering their fees (which they weren't). After having enough of their backpedalling and getting ghosted for so long, he simply hardlocked the entire site's root access behind a password, then left without telling them what it is. This is why they can't do much else with this site other than edit a.css file every now and again to give it the illusion of actual work being done on the site. Naturally, this leads to certain complications regarding site stability, mainly that it's frequently attacked and taken down by trolls. The most recent attack having took place only a few weeks after the site's founder Dragoneer passed away during the end of August 2024.
The site's moderation and admin team are also chronic virtue signallers and frequently align themselves with the most radically left-wing positions possible. Any dissenting opinion would result in endless harassment and moderation will simply turn a blind eye to it. There are countless examples of pedophile/zoophile content which is morally wrong, except the moderation team also comprises of pedophiles and zoophiles so they conveniently ignore it. They will make rules about involving real world politics in art, yet it is clear with the art that involve things like BLM or pride/progress flags that only a few will be tolerated. They will make arbitrary rules regarding Pokémon, AI or whatever, yet they're very selective of how these rules should be enforced, if at all. It all depends where you land politically, and whether you are stupid enough to give them money for literally no reason.
I'm not sure if I can convince furries to stay away from this site, because let's face it - they could do a lot better for themselves than a deprecated image gallery from two decades ago. If I can though, I would like to say e621.net is way better to use, it has good enough blacklist features to filter out the stuff you won't like, and the moderation team actually does their job properly.
I used to be a member of FurAffinity for over ten years until I finally decided it was time to deactivate and leave it for good.
FurAffinity was once a decent place to be in terms of long time discoverability because of how well everyone can easily remember the name FurAffinity regardless if you are a furry or not, however that is also a conundrum in itself.
Because unless if you are a successful "popüfur" (which is a nickname for being a popular furry, or have a higher audience on some other website to self-promote and advertise your profile), then good luck getting noticed. Because unless if you make fursuits or flooding tons of explicit nsfw works into your gallery for a more perverse audience, nobody really cares who you are on FurAffinity if you don't meet anyone's extremely high and biased expectations.
No matter how hard you try to improve your art, your view counts will always remain low, people rarely bother to comment and favourites are also low.
You'd be better off sticking to DeviantArt if you're that adamant about getting noticed; they offer a groups function that allows you to get your art pushed out into other people's inboxes, regardless if they follow you personally or not, for those watching art groups and you'd have a better chance of exposure on there unlike FurAffinity's way of having a temporary display on the front page before it gets lost in the art portal where it'll be forgotten.
FurAffinity has also frequently known for being targeted under multiple DDoS attacks causing it to shut down temporarily, so if that also isn't a warning sign about how unorganized and outdated this website is then I don't know what is. There was also a rumor they once hired a hacker as one of their admins years ago which also left some damage on the reputation of the types of people they hire on their staff team.
Another thing to include, there has been a lot of creepy stuff coming around FurAffinity. A lot of people have been coming out as either a pedophile and/or have a real life interest in beastiality.
Be careful with who you interact with on there. You never know what creep you might encounter on there.
DO NOT JOIN THIS WEBSITE IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 OR 21! For your sanity please wait until you're older, there are some disgusting behaviours on there you should NOT be exposing yourself to if you are sensitive.
None.
