I ordered a part on 5/6 and didn't get it until 5/20, my gate would have been out of commission for 2 weeks if I didn't have a spare gate arm from one of my other gates. I would have expected at least the shipping be refunded since it took so long. Once I got the part, I was able to install it and it worked great afterwards. Once you have an automatic gate, it's difficult to do without it, I feel bad for anyone with out a spare arm that would have had to wait 2 weeks for a part to fix their broken gate arm...

We've spent over $5500 with this company over the past couple years. And, agree that shipments take longer than usual but they charged us for 2nd day air which we did not authorize. We placed our order with "Amber" who refused to split the difference with us (around $35). Her customer service skills are lacking to say the least.

We understand your frustration however as we explained to you the order was placed by one of your colleges and they asked for the expedited shipping at the additional cost. We sent an order confirmation with all of the prices and expedited shipping charges appx one week before shipping, that charge was never questioned. The order was sent out using that expedited shipping method and you received it. That charge is a hard charge to us from Fed Ex we are not able to offer a discount on the service that was provided. We do appreciate your business and hope that you understand that we can not be responsible for an error that was made by your company.
Common sense would dictate that 2 day shipping would be two days... Wrong! I ordered a belt drive on Tuesday evening and understood from the call taker that I would receive it on Thursday. I paid $27.83 to expedite this order! Come Thursday evening I call and begin the customer service run around. I had to speak with two call takers and finally their supervisor. All I asked for was a partial refund on the shipping for my order. There's no room for any refund I was told - they paid the $27. Xx shipping and there's nothing further that they can do. In the end I am still stuck paying the extra money and waiting an extra day for the much needed part. Who was it that once said, "The customer is always right"?

Again we are sorry for your confusion. When you placed the order late Tuesday night we informed you and you understood that the order would not ship until Wednesday. It shipped out Wednesday as promised and it went Fed Ex 2 day as requested.
Fed Ex "Next Day Air" (or one day if you will) that you chose not to do because it was an expensive option, would have given it to you Thursday.
Instead, you asked for "Fed Ex 2 day air" which provides for a Friday delivery.
I am very sorry that you misunderstood how fed Ex counts the days but that has nothing to do with our company or our performance as we shipped the package when promised and using the method your requested.

They listed a part as "in stock", but my order showed as "Backordered" when I submitted it. I waited 5 days, and there was no change. When I asked what the deal was, they tried to convince me that this fits Google Shopping's definition of "in stock"... like I'm the idiot.

Found I didn't need part, and asked to return part. After 3 emails, they finally responded, stating I could not return item at all, even though I hadn't even opened the box.
I purchased a $3000 Liftmaster gate controller from Gatehouse. During installation by a local installer, it was discovered that non- Liftmaster brand components had been included in the shipment. The included instructions did not match the Liftmaster system. I was told by Gatehouse for me to call Liftmaster, which was a recorded message stating in essence that a Liftmaster dealer or registered technician would have to call to request any help. Gatehouse refused to help (as a dealer) by calling Liftmaster for the correct instructions. I am forced to call an out of town Liftmaster installer / dealer come on site with the original installer with the correct instructions, which could easily been emailed to Gatehouse or me. Simple solution, but evidently too complicated for Gatehouse to accommodate their customer. Gatehouse prices are not cheaper than other suppliers, and their support after the sale is very frustrating.
I ordered a part because is showed in stock. 10 days later, still nothing in the mail. They say that they just got the part and will send it, no apology and no offer to improve the shipping. Told me I should have checked on the status on my account.

I placed an order for a part that is beginning to be hard to find. After scouring several sites showing "backordered" status, I discovered this not-too-sketchy-looking site called GateHouseSupplies with the part "in stock", hooray! I wasn't pleased about paying minimum $12 to ship an item the size of a USB stick, but it was the only site with availability I could find.
I placed an order Thursday night and was charged immediately via Paypal. The following Tuesday evening I received an email telling me that it was backordered and that they would be able to ship it in 6-8 weeks. I cancelled my order immediately due to the poor, outdated inventory management. Who knows if I'll be able to find my part...
I've ordered from gatehouse three times. Each time I've ordered items listed as "in stock". Every order I have placed I have received a backordered email and that my items are unavailable. I have also ordered with overnight shipping and received them a week and a half later. This company does not care about you or your needs, they only care about getting your sale.
I would highly advise going somewhere else or to a local authorized dealer for the parts that you need.
If you return something there is a 20% restocking fee. What is that for when the company is not out any money.
So not only do you to pay for shipping to get it to you, you have to pay to shipping to have it returned. The part was $65.00 shipping $26 for out and back plus $13 for restocking. I paid $39.00 for a part I never used. How is this good customer service when they are out nothing.
I received a faulty logic board... no fault of Gatehouse. I initially wrote a poor review based on a misunderstanding of their exchange policy. My fault, not theirs. They immediately contacted me and corrected the problem... very impressed with the way they handled it and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.
Ordered a remote for garage door opener, perfect service and the remote perfect, ordered from Atlanta, Ga had to be sent to Hendersonville, NC perfect shipping time.

Website said part was in stock, After a week contacted them. They said it was back ordered. No contact from them at all. Now I dont have the part and wasted a week.
Remote control range suddenly dropped drastically and was intermittent. When operational, car almost touched garage door for remote opening. Found replacement logic board assembly on www.gatehousesupplies.com. Delivered promptly in a solid box with boards enclosed in a static free bag to protect components. Board delivered mounted in a new back cover for the opener motor. The back panel contained both the logic board and power supply boards. Could not install the new back cover with new boards since not possible to remove swing down plastic lens cover for rear light bulb. Removed both boards from old and new rear covers and installed new boards in original back cover. Opener range returned to previous 185+ ft range. Delighted with product and price.
I just received a garage door remote from Gatehouse and am so pleased with the service, speed of delivery and quality of the product that I just ordered another one.
I could not find the remote anywhere and when I called Amber was so helpful.

Ordered remotes for our gate, I want to make it clear that I have absolutely no issue with the product itself, it's the lack of customer service and overcharge.
We opt for priority overnight shipping, once the perceived arrival date came and went I inquired status with FedEx. Only then did I discover that they sent it regular, 3-5 day shipment, this was not what I pay for matter of fact my invoice clearly outlines overnight. At once I tries to contact them after searching for a phone number to only be put through automated message hell, I was never able to reach anyone. I then emailed them as directed on website and receipt, unfortunately they chose not to acknowledge the fact that they screwed up on shipping and owed us a refund.
I had to dispute charges with our credit card, but the point is that a customer shouldn't have to do that, this was an easy matter that could have been cleared up with a simple phone call or returned email accepring responsibility, sincerely apologize for mistake and correct error immediately with a credit towards payment method.
I will not use their company again and I recommend all to stay away. Not safe for buyers especially since they hide behind a website.
Answer: I think if you know for sure what part number you need and they ship you the correct part (and it works), then you should be fine. Personally, I wouldn't buy anything from them again,

Sorry about the delay on that order. I do see that you ordered it on the 6th and we shipped in on the 14th one week later. The extra time for delivery was USPS. Unfortunately, sometimes we do run out of stock on items and we have to wait for the replacements to arrive. I'm glad it worked out for you when installed.
