GofundMe finances racism in France: more that 1 Million euros collected for a campaign supporting a policeman who murdered a 17 year old of north african decent. The plateform refuses to shut it down. SHAME ON YOU

In France, a policeman voluntarily shot a north-african 17 yo during a random car control: because the policeman hit him with his gun at the head (after menacing him to shot him multiple times during the control), the child relaxed the foot off the pedal and lost the control of the automatic vehicle "justifying" shooting him in the head.

A far right notorious openly racist politician rose a gofundme for "the family" of the policeman after his arrest for voluntary homicide, raising 1 million euros. The gofundme is still not cancelled to this day. GoFundMe chose to say that the money will go to the family and not the murderer (yes, sure! When your wife has 1 000 000 euros, you will obviously never see the money). GoFundMe allows fundraising for murderers. Next what? They will allow fundraising for the family of p*dophiles? Shame on this company to endorse racist crimes. Why they chose not to cancel it? Maybe because they will make mini 30k off of it.

How to become a millionnaire? Shoot a non-white kid in the head and use gofundme to "support your family"!

I am the beneficiary they make it nearly impossible to receive your funds while telling you by email they want to help. They don't really help they send you back to there horrible website and nothing still comes from it. You will not get your funds easy. They wear you down until you don't want the money anymore. It's horrible and you never have communication by phone. My cousin set this thing up I wish he never did. I could have used cashapp and a social media page. It seems I'm not gonna get my money and I will always speak against using there platform

This has been the worst fundraising experience than I have ever had the most complicated to try and get the funds that you've raised and for a charity they take a percentage of your money which is not right and I recommend nobody ever uses GoFundMe again the worst experience I've ever had in my life I think it needs to be closed down for good

I would recommend to stay away from this platform. If you donate money and the money are misused, they are not refunding you. They told me that they were working with the organizer, and they think that there wasn't any misused of funds. Of course that the organizer is not going to recognize that the funds are misused if the organizer is the person who want to keep the money. The funds were donated for a cancer treatment, but the person who supposed to get the treatment sadly passed away before she could receive the treatment. If you ask me, the funds are not used for the purpose were donated.

In December 2022 I made a donation to a go fund me webpage that was taken down within that week it was posted.

It has been an ongoing headache with my bank because gofundme doesn't have a way to contact them except by email.

They will hold onto your money and collect interest on it. I haven't donated to a gofundme before but know of others that had in which it was for a good cause.

I've gone three times round and round with my bank because they continue to charge me and trying to keep the money on a page that was taken down.

I submitted documents to my personal bank and only for them to reverse it to try to give it back to them.

I will never ever ever make any contributions to such a website like this ever again because it's not going to who it supposed to be going to and when you try to get your money back they take forever to respond back via the email.

Shame on you go fund me for the way that you do business and eventually you'll be shut down because everything you're doing is a scam.

Go Fund Me is great for BLM and Antifa issues - kinda like Kamala Harris bonding arrested felons out so they could destroy more property and injure more people - but let a decent law abiding US citizen get into trouble for protecting his family and property and Go Fund Me just abandons him. Go Fund Me, you and your lying Demo-Nazi friends in the white house and the congress can kiss my damn $#*!.

I went to donate to a friend for pet surgery and to my surprise; the "optional" tip was a whopping Mandatory 15% tip. What? It's misleading, and even with the stories I've read of delayed action on giving the person the money raised, already knowing they keep a portion for their own expenses, I find out the new way is to literally hold the donor hostage to a whopping Additional 15% of what is donated. I will never use or donate via gofundme again. When you are misleading to begin with, it's hard to trust that anything is right about the process. The only part that is optional about the tip, is you can choose to give a higher tip of up to 30%. This is dirty, and unfortunately, the person in need is hurt by lack of willing donors.

Wasted over an hour now trying to verify using a code sent via text. Also tried having them call me. Nothing is working. Super frustrated that they can't get their $#*! together. This shouldn't be this hard.

Donated fifty dollars to what i thought was a good cause...and go fund me added an additional seven fifty.and did not asy anything about that added amount... never again...

Why you guys charge 3,99 for donate and after you guys get part of the money people donate to its no dear cuz you guys a ready making money with the fees you charge gofund.me no fear what you guys do

If you're looking for a fundraising company who rips you off, then GoFundMe is the one for you. I am new to the whole fundraising thing, and therefore had no clue about the fees, until after I set up the fundraiser, and went to transfer to my bank, the first of the donations. The first of my donations were a little over $200, they took over $50 in fees. When I realized this, the only choice I had was to push up the amount I was asking for to $2500. And then with the last donation that had come in, due to some issues with my bank account, I had to change the account linked to the fundraiser, which I had done before that last donation that had come in. They ended up sending the money to that 1st account instead of the newly linked account. I had to wait for them to get it bank to GoFundMe, for them to resend it to the new account. I had to call them about it. Then they sent it again, to the wrong account, yet again. I called again to complain. While on the phone with them, I am literally staring at the linked account, which is the new one I initially changed to before that last donation. And yet they still got it wrong. That money was to go to the funeral home to pay for my mother's Cremation services. I had to wait over a week to finally get the money. I will never use GoFundMe again.

They stole money from my fund raiser and refused to return it. They drug me around for two weeks and made excuses for why the money was missing

We attempted to raise funds for an elderly woman (81 years old) who is unemployed and recently lost her place of residence due to unforeseen circumstances. The woman was planning on returning to her native country (Russia) to live with her family. The fundraiser was never approved by GoFundMe. We received a message asking if the money would be sent in Russia, or was just being used to travel to Russia. What right do they have to tell people how to use, and where they could spend their money? This is absolutely raises! It is bad enough that they charge such a high percentage fee on every transaction. Then have the audacity to tell you what you can do with your money! I am not a fan of GoFundMe and I will never recommend to use their website!

I started to GoFundMe in June and it is now September with no funds sent to me. I have been emailing them for months, with barely ever a response. I don't even think I'm ever going to get the money so unfortunately I'm not going to be able to help the person that I need to help.
Biggest waste of my time and money.

I'm a Paramedic and tried to collect money for my second volunteer employment.
First my Account was ok.
Later, i got a confusing e-mail about,, we don't support any support for war and military activity,,... what ever that means.
I clearly listed for what I needed the money.
- expenses for travel
- medical equipment
- ballistic protection (P S. E)
- money for housing/hostels
- car rental

I needed only 2000€.
That company is a joke and pays people for 5 stars rating.

This company is a joke. Do NOT use. I have been trying to get my nephews money because he is paralized now fro. ATV wreck and needs new bed for getting up easier, a lift, wheelchair, etc. They still have his funds and are holding them. We have tried uploading bank info10 times now only to be given a different excuse each time. You cant reach anyone except online and they reply when its convenient for them. I would never recommend gofundme and I will never donate to their fund again. Set up your own bank account with the beneficary on a debit card. No hoops and no one can hold your money. Do not use this sites. They are a rip off. They get interest in their banks the longer they hold everyones money. Why do you think there are so many complaints on holding money. Look at the bbb they are rated 1. Please save yourself the headache.
