Awesome website with amazing deals.
1. If its raining the course will be cart path only.
2. If you have trouble booking a tee time, move on to another one.
3. The website cannot be blamed for course conditions or service.
Booked a tee-time using golfnow.com and that part went smooth. When I called the course the day before just to make sure that they were aware of it they said they had no clue and that tee time was not available. There was going to be outings all day... Golfnow should be shut down! It is a scam! I had already prepaid and everything... Luckily the course's GM was very nice and worked everything out for us. **DO NOT USE GOLFNOW.COM!**
I have used Golfnow.com a few times in the past mainly to book tee times in Florida. I booked a tee time in March and received confirmation. Myself and the rest of my foursome showed up 30 minutes before our tee and to my surprise the course had no record of my tee time booking. After returning home I called Golfnow to to express my displeasure with their booking process and to ensure I would not be charged for the booking. I was told there had been website issues and assured I would not charged. To my surprise when my credit card statement arrived I was surprised to see that I was not charged once but 3 times for a booking Golfnow did not do. Called Golfnow to receive a refund and they cannot find my account even after forwarding my email from Golfnow stating I would not be charged. Friendly enough customer representatives but a horrible accounting system.
I searched for a tee time at Stoneridge Golf Course, here in Prescott Valley Arizona, using GolfNow, and found their "discounted/special rate" was actually $5 more than the standard rack rate advertised by the course itself. I emailed GolfNow about their misleading specials and deceptive offers, and they did not respond. STAY AWAY FROM USING GOLFNOW WEB SITE. Use the online specials at your preferred courses instead for the best pricing. AVOID GOLFNOW!
Do not use the mobile version of this site. It's very screwy; the date that you are trying to book may change on you and there is no way to verify that you picked your desired date before booking. After clicking make a reservation, an error message popped up. Finally, when I received an email confirmation, lo and behold I made the reservation a day early and am having a hell of a time getting my money back. They are not responsive to phone calls, emails, or their stupid "contact us" forms. Stay away! Use ezlinks, better deals and you can cancel up to 24hrs in advance.
I have just closed my account with these jerks after 15 years. They are a discredit to the game. Spring hot deals are stupid. If the weather worsens but the course doesn't close, you are stuck Then they give you a miniscule hot deal credit for Mon-Thursday as a Chamberlinian appeasement. It's all such a con and a scam.
Do not trust what their agents say. They said they will cancel tee time and waive the booking fee, but only the tee time was cancelled and the booking fee was charged. Not honest...
Trying to book through golf now is a waste of time. I have tried 4 times to get a tee time reservered and have been rejected with a sorry note each time. The prices look great but what good are they if you can't get them. My guess is they are waiting to book a foursome to maximize their booking fee.
My time is worth more then the frustration caused by this misleading site.
Everything went smoothly with taking my money, but getting a refund is another story. I booked a course, and drove to the course to find out the gates were closed due to "greens under repair". I e-mailed for a refund, but no response. I called customer service, and they said they couldn't reach anyone at the course (duh they are closed), but couldn't issue a refund until they spoke with the course management. They also informed me it was my responsibility to call golfnow.com everyday, and remind them to call the golf course. So, basically they are holding my money on a course that may or may not reopen. Very poor relationship with the golf courses, and extremely poor customer service!
These brilliant idiots don't tell when a courses greens has been aerated until after the purchase and guess what "No Refunds" - I complained to them and their response was akin to flipping me off. Save your money book your own tee times.
This site does a good job offering discounted rates however the site is misleading. I have been using the site for almost three years. I didn't realized that I was earning points. When I realized I had over 10K in points I thought well it's times to use them. I HAVE YET TO FIND ANY DATES AT NORMAL TIMES for me to use my points. I stopped using it once I realized. It doesn't matter whether it's off season or on. Imagine using a hotel chain to earn points, then when you want to use them 365 days are blacked out. WTF.
Great site to find deals on tee times in Southern California.
The biggest frustration I have with this site is that it will show a tee time for 1-4 people. I click on it. It says "we're sorry, your tee time is no longer available," at least 95% of the time if I want to play as a single. If I put in 4 players, magically, I can get a tee time for 50% of the times.
Also, as a single, after it tells me "your tee time is no longer available," if I wait 3 minutes, that tee time shows up in the search results again, but--gasp--priced at least $10 higher. Very misleading.
I have been using golfnow for 18 months. NO more, their customer support stinks plus they list course's in the daily email... go to the course and get "Sorry the tee time you requested is not available" not only once. But every day!
Ezlinks is the way to go... plus you can cancel up to the 24th hour w/Ezlinks.
Golfnow is a POS!

Not really the website's fault. Hampton Golf Village in Cummings, Ga. Did not honor the price. Tried to charge us more to play on greens that were ate up. Not only that it took us 2:30 to play 7 holes. After all that they tried to charge us more for a replay than it it cost to play the original round. They blamed golfnow for the coupon they sent to them. At least be a man and honor your mistake. It read $22.00! ALL DAY! Exactly like that. He tried to charge us 25.00 for a replay. Stay away from Hampton Golf Village. Greens in bad shape and not worth the price! Hit 'em straight my true golfers!
Non-existing customer support. Tried twice recently to make a reservation. Both times I received an error message and was told to contact customer support. I tried emails and phone calls and did not even receive a reply.
Golfnow.com is a rip-off. DO NOT USE. I selected a time, but, after logging in, submitting my info and trying to go further (to confirm my tee-time), the site
THEN says "no longer available" and prompts you to go back.
Here's the scam: I returned to the main reservation page and didn't find anything else that I wanted (for now). THEN, I went to my online bank account and the PAYMENT WAS BEING PROCESSED TO MY ACCOUNT ANYWAY!
I called the Customer Service number, was on hold for about a half hour, then finally was told that I "should" get my money back in "around 3 days or so".
WTF... my tee-time was never confirmed--but you take my money FIRST.
I don't think so ---- this is a RIP-OFF... BEWARE!
I have booked several, not many, times through this website. So far so good. However, I booked a time for me and my pals today that offered what appeared to be a decent deal. Not really though. The golf course, The Highlands of Elgin (IL), charged $6 more than the stated tee time rate?! They would not do anything and golfnow.com certainly didn't do anything? Now I owe my buddies a few extra bucks each and not the course or golfnow.com can or will do anything about it! First rate losers!
Typical of these types of sites. It's not that convenient, since I still have to call the golf course to check on maintenance status, cart path only (if it's rainy) and other issues. My biggest problem with site and others like it are:
1. They make a strong effort to peddle the 'discounted' times (these are the times they take from the golf courses for their 'fee' so it's all their money if they sell them). These are usually not the most desirable times either.
2. You have to pay 100% UP FRONT, and the only way to get a refund is if the course actually CLOSES that day due to weather. So if your schedule changes you're basically stuck (like a hotel reservation).
3. There is a "booking fee" which I find ABSURD.
4. Their selection is pretty weak most of the time.
I've been playing golf my entire life, and this type of technology really isn't welcome. I much prefer to interact with the pro shop personnel, review and select a tee time with him/her directly, and have the flexibility to change or reschedule. Use this site if you're so inclined (at least that's what the "mind control" advertising on Golf Channel will tell you to do), but for me and my golfing buddies it's a failed experiment.
I booked the tee time from this website on 26 for tee time on November 1st. The rate is $26.00 and it is confirmed. But they sent me email on 30th of October and I was told that I have to cancel the tee time or I will have to pay $52.00. The company name is The Active Network, Ltd. and the website is www.click4teetimes.com.
Answer: Because they got too big for their britches. They think they have such a clientele that the few who will drop off are insignificant. They would not even refund my fees for an accidental booking I made for the wrong day. You are correct, I have been going thru the local websites of the courses themselves. I was a customer for 5 years with about 40 bookings per year, they took away my free fees and the bonuses. I have not booked with them in 4 months.
Answer: Golfnow sent an E-mail to me (Dec) informing me that points must be used by Dec. 31. Ok tried to find a tee time for Sat or Sun because I work M-F. Not one single location available in Tampa, Lakeland and Orlando to book. Having 6600 points that I lose, it seems more notice would have been provided to assist in using valued points (converted $88.20). Nearest course several hours away (Daytona) not happening. Contacted Golfnow and Mr. Joe Babcock of customer service, (oxymoron), had me call 800-767-3574 to get a tee time, what a joke, lady on phone was of no value and promised her supervisor would call back. Hell will freeze first, never again do business with these cons. Thanks, Douglas Roger Sundean
