Just terrible
February 12, 2023

They put the worst shows on HGTV. I have stopped watching all together. Just because they had the Property Bros on they are still playing off of them. They show these terrible shows all day long. They don't even have a diversified lineup. And they show the same shows over and over. Just a terrible channel.

As Christian I find too many of your shows use BAD language. Intelligent people do not need to use bad words to express themselves. It is insulting and painful.

Style, taste and color
December 15, 2022

Hometown…. Possibly the single worse show promoting style in homes. Very "white bread and mayonnaise ". The show tents to copy others with no sense of its own unique style. The taste displayed tends toward Home Depot taste and items available for sale. As far as color goes well just have a look, it's blah and bland.
The banter in the show is sing song and pretty immature for this supposed level of contractor.
They almost NEVER look a new products or technologies for the home. It seems like a new coat of ordinary paint, a piece of old wood and there it goes…
This show gets more and more difficult to even watch.

I was watching the HGTV home renovation show "Fixer to Fabulous" and paused it after missing about half of it. When I pressed play, it went to a 3 minute commercial break. Even though I sat through every commercial until this point, I can somewhat understand after a long pause. After watching 3 mins of ads, I rewound to about the middle of the episode and another 3 min ad(s)! Worse part, it took me back to the end. I repeated this once more to realize I was stuck on watching the ads to complete the last 5 mins of the big renovation reveal just to restart the show and go through 15 more mins of ads to get back to the last watched point. No way. I'm very disappointed. I liked the show but it's definitely not worth the long commercial breaks. Do better HGTV!

HGTV is the BEST! I have watched HGTV since in junior high school with my darling architect aunt who has installed the love of renovation in my blood. Now, a proud physician assistant who flips home on my days off, I have continued the tradition with my own family.

Watching "The family Tree," with Ben and Erin find a man fixer-upper that was aired on 12/11/2022 {HGTVHD 229} with a homeowner who was moving back to town as an engineer I realized there is a pattern with HGTV and not only with this show. The pattern is regardless of the Black American occupation or status, they ALWAYS stick the African American on "the other side of the truck, (The black community) never integrating the two communities. The show prior to this one was a young white couple who come back into town from New York city after completing his residence and was moved into a great white Neiborhood with beautiful tree line, great manicure lawn, large space and excellent school. Whereas this young black engineer with a great career was place directly next to his mother's house (Less desirable Neiborhood) in which he was adamant he DID NOT WANT to do but, was pushed into and was convince into choosing, which turnout to be a disaster. This is a perfect example of "redlining" in housing, a practice of denying a creditworthy applicant a loan for housing in a certain neighborhood even through the applicant may otherwise be eligible for the loan." which is illegal. Sadly, his home will never yield the same equity turn-over as the other neighborhood and will continue systematically.

What I would like to see in the future is integration by placing black families into nice neighborhood too with tree lines, well-manicured lawn, great schools. Furthermore, please high light the married black successful individuals in your town looking for housing too. I am certain they are a few! In order to continue supporting this channel change will need to be administered; where it is essential to highlight success amongst the black community in our great nation.

Structural walls
October 16, 2022

Seriously? This show is telling someone not to remove a wall because of sheathing? It's the framing/studs holding the structure not sheathing. Everyone knows that plywood separates the walls/insulation/trusses/lathe etc. Sheathing has nothing to do with load bearing walls etc. Also why are wood burning fireplaces being shown with no doors, mesh curtains or screens. This is a huge fire hazard especially with wood floors. Hearths don't look like the are up to code. There are strict rules for combustible materials and clearances for wood burning fireplaces. If they aren't working fireplaces or have been converted to electric then the shows need to specify this.

Farmhouse Fixer is awesome and my favorite HGTV show! Johnathan and Kristina complement each other perfectly. Didn't think they would be able to beat the 2021 Cognata farm house but they did! What a joy to watch these two and their final reveals. Can't wait for the next season! Also love Dave and Jenny Maars and Home Town. Keep up the good works HGTV!

New shows
August 13, 2022

I find it very deceitful that they list a program as new but it's just last year's repeat. They don't think that the viewer realizes this.

I have watched HGTV since 2002. Over the years I have enjoyed shows. I miss some of the old shows such as prime time Design on a Dime as well as Nicole Cutis show.
I love the current show Bargain Block. Creatively at lower cost. Nothing cookie cutter about them.
Also love Home Town, Lottery Dream Home, Farmhouse Fixer and Good Bones.
My complaints are the wokeness being shoved down our throats and the removal of crosses during renovations.
I have noticed any reference to Judaism, Islam or Chistianity is a no no. Yet designers use a Buddha as decorations yet crosses are removed
What the heck is going on?

I have completed the medical and theory test with HGVT ( Heavy Goods Vehicle Training UK) relatively quickly. After that though they become uncontactable on the phone and do not reply to emails. Two months after passing the theory I have still no clue when the driver training is going to be. They are taking money hand over fist as people try to get this training but do not have the ability to deliver the service they state they provide. They have had £3800 of my money for the last 4 months to do both class 2 and 1 but cannot or will not communicate when the driver training will be. Do not be fooled by the page after page of 5 star reviews on their site. If I had the money I gave them i could have booked the training myself and it would have been done by now.
They are a massive and expensive waste of time. If they do not deliver the service I have paid for very soon it will be necessary to contact an Ombudsman or take legal advise as I cannot believe they can accept payment for services that cannot be delivered in a reasonable time. They do not even deserve 1 star minus 3 is more like it.

False Advertising
May 25, 2022

I have been an avid follower of HGTV but now you are advertising new shows which are actually old shows. Why? When new shows are legit then post as new, and don't post old shows are new. It only takes a faithful follower to know that these shows are not new. Very disappointing

Like so many others here, I've grown sick of the
"woke", Pro-Gay/ Anti-Family/ Anti/Christian message that HGTV stands for now. If you're supporting BLM, then you are in support of criminals, as the leader of BLM has taken in over $60 Million donations from idiots like HGTV, without filing info with IRS, as all legit non-profits always do. I'm turning off HGTV for good.

Repeats
May 8, 2022

I love watching HGTV! I don't like all the repeats. Ya'll need new episodes. I love watching Good Bones as I like everyone on there. Mina and Tad are my favorite! I also like Good Bones. The Lottery Dream House is great except to many repeats again. Fixer to Fabulous is my other one I love! So keep it up but get new shows please.

I'm tired of the constant parade of homosexuals on HGTV. You include a disproportionate number of them. Stop the WOKE politics and produce family friendly programming

HGTV has gotten so horrible! Nothing but re-runs and what isn't a re-run is a show that is more focused on being diverse than it is having any decent talent or content! They should go back to gearing their programming to a generation that can afford to do the type of renovating shown. The hosts have gotten so over dramatic and unrelatable! Wake up management!

Bargain Block, with 2 guys putting life back into Detroit, has turned out to buy my favorite show! Can't believe they renovate houses on such low budgets. The houses are usually beautiful, not always to my taste, but decorated to the max. Very realistic in use of used furniture.

Does HGTV have a ton of reruns... Yes. Have you seen them so many times you could actually recite every word? Probably. Here's a question for all the complainers. "If you're watching so much HGTV re-runs, you must not have anything else to do or you're too short sighted to maybe read a book, take a walk, pull some weeds, clean out a closet, etc." Everybody has an opinion as it should be however, until you can produce a network, renovate a home, be creative; either shut up, change the channel or stop paying for HGTV. It's always easier to complain than it is to be positive. Perhaps HGTV is not the network for you!
