Love this site and all of the deals! Great staff too!
Hip2Save is the best site for saving money, by far. Love it!
I love this site! I especially love the pics of seasonal and limited time offerings at Costco, Sam's Club, Target, & Aldi. The fashions of Walmart have been really fun and inspiring for my own wardrobe. Colin and her army of minions are positive and upbeat. I appreciate everyone on the team and their hard work.
Love this site. Have been visiting daily since it began, many years ago.
Very informative money saving website. I've been a reader for many years and appreciate the great deals, recipes, and interesting posts on current trends in beauty and fashion. Highly Recommended!
Excellent information for saving money! Thank you!
I've gained so much useful information about sales and other things that I'd have never known about without this great site.
I've been following Hip2save for a long time and love, love, love it! I love the stories and all the good deals I have found through the site.
It's clear - Hip2Save's top priority isn't about helping you save money...it's about them MAKING money. Site is so far away from what made it popular. Now catering to search engines and click-bait articles...where are the deals and money saving posts? No one cares if a new Oreo flavor is dropping, or if McDonald's is testing strawless lids. That's what PopSugar is for...
The site used to be about saving us money but now Collin is hardly anywhere to be seen and i's just her team in all the posts. She just posts about her fancy house and moving and selling all the time and buying new furniture. I tried to use the app and the app keeps crashing.
One thing too is hey never have the deals first. They are always like a couple of days behind other sites so when they pos a deal everything is basicly gone. Blogs are dying and it doesn't look good.
I followed this site since the early days of deals, real paper coupons you cut out with scissors and coupon binders overflowing, when Ma was still alive and her and Collin went to the stores and scoped out deals themselves, dancing and having fun in the target parking lot, they WERE authentic people & truly frugal Penny pinchers with real deals helping people save money, Collin lived in a modest average home.
Fast forward years later, this site is visual spam, affiliate links, paid advertisements by their sponsors, there are very few things or links that don't make the site money. This is a many multimillion dollar corporation now. Collin owns many, multimillion dollar homes and is a multimillionaire. I can't relate to this person. And the person who I've always thought is a truly genuine soul has recently really made me question her real character when reading the recent horrible Glassdoor reviews of the company from former employees! There are too many negative reviews full of details to be made up. Glassdoor Has even flagged hip2save as being under investigation for a false positive reviews. I feel like we as followers are being duped. I am so deeply disappointed that once again a person who started out with a genuine hobby has sold out so horribly. What would Ma say about what this has become?
I am really sad about it.
Affiliate links are being dished out every single post. EVERY single post. Makes you question what their intentions are...saving you money OR ONLY making them money? Hmm. Also, sponsored posts are seriously taking over the entire blog. Been following H2S since 2012 and I finally just unsubscribed from their messages and socials. Their Instagram stories really annoyed me because every single slide had an affiliate link in it. Collin has really lost her roots with this site, it's sad how much it has changed for the worse.
H2S used to be such an amazing resource for saving money. Now, it's pretty much a BuzzFeed/Popsugar wannabe. We don't need to know when McDonald's is launching a new burger. It would be different if there was a money-saving offer attached to that post. But nope, it's simply about the new burger. Now, where are the savings in that post? The site has gotten so bad. Do yourself a favor and find a different money saving blog to go to... there are so many out there.
They used to post good stuff, but lately it's all just affiliate links and click bait. The blog is full of lame "deals" that are really just Amazon links to random stuff. Also, they delete all comments on deals that aren't complimenting them. Any constructive feedback is deleted so fast. Seems like a scummy business model.
You can find actual deals through many other sites and insta accounts.
I was a follower of Hip2Save since its inception many, many moons ago. I was inspired by not just the good deals/finds, but the story behind the founder's successes and, yes, failures, and her honest approach to saving. In the past 2 years, the site has definitely changed and not in a good way. There are certainly some good deals that are posted but a good chunk of them (I'd guestimate 90 percent) commissioned links. I know, there has to be a happy medium between a good deal and a site making money, but there has to be a healthy balance and the tides have definitely shifted. It has gotten so bad that I've had to unsubscribe from their daily emails. I tried signing up for the texts, but the texts became annoying and intrusive. Now, they are doing a referral program -- that can't be good. I've checked the site off and on; and, if there is something anti- anything good for a post (I'm not talking bashing or of a political nature), it will be taken down. In my opinion, it is not accepting of differing opinions other than after the (or more so "your" almighty dollar). It pains me to write this, but just want people to be aware that the site has changed since its inception. Again, there are some good things to be had on the site, just be wary of the click baits.
They used to promote apps like Ibotta and Ebates (Rakuten) but they stopped all of a sudden. I realized it was because they'd rather push affiliate links on the deal seeker versus pushing the biggest discount. Sad that it went downhill when the company is now worth millions.
I've been following H2S for years. I officially decided to call it quits and use other money saving blogs. H2S USED to be the best out there - by far. The past year, the deal has been filled with click-bait posts. On top of that, most posts aren't even about saving money. Like posting about a new Oreo flavor coming out - how is that relevant to saving money?
Skip on H2S.
Why is this site turning into a site like PopSugar or Delish? Where are all the posts related to saving money? All I see on H2S these days are posts about new products you can buy, or a snack review. As someone who has followed this blog for over 7 years, it's NOTHING what it used to be. I have started using other money saving blogs instead because if I want lifestyle posts, I'll just go on BuzzFeed or PopSugar. Not Hip2SAVE. Why is SAVE even in the title anymore?
H2S used to be a great site when it was about couponing, spending less and saving money. In the past few years it's turned into a non-focused mess. It's now mostly Amazon "buy this NOW!" type posts with multiple exclamation points and click bait titles. It has become more about consumerism and getting clicks to her affiliate links. Many of the "deals" her team now posts aren't even good deals. They're just online deals shared because she gets a commission. Now that she has a team writing for her the site has gotten very corporate-looking and she rarely posts. Her comments are normally "awww you're so sweet" in response to compliments given to her. She used to share a lot about her personal experiences which made the site work for her readers. They felt a personal connection to her. I don't anymore. The keto thing is also off the rails. We get it. This fad diet worked for you. What does this have to do with savings and coupons? Most reputable doctors will tell you that keto is not healthy or sustainable long term. Her team frequently dishes out what could be construed as medical advice pertaining to keto. It's gross and wrong and has very much turned me off her site. I used to check it multiple times a day. Now it's maybe once a month and I don't feel like I'm missing anything. I used to leave her site smiling because I enjoyed the content and the deals. Now when I go I feel annoyed when I leave because the site has changed so much and it's such a money grab now. Before I knew I was supporting her through affiliate links and I didn't mind because I enjoyed the content. I would purchase through just about any other avenue now due to the changes on the site. Good for the owner, bad for her readers.
My granddaughters were very happy with Christmas, thanks to this site I was able to get what they wanted for Christmas!
