I attempted to register my pet 4 consecutive days and received an error message each of the many times I clicked on "find my pet" (after entering and double-checking the required information). The error message included a toll-free number to call stating someone was on hand to assist 24/7. I called and there was only a
recorded message thanking me for my patience, asking me to hold, and promising to be back right away. I found several better options for HomeAgain. I suggest anyone with a microchipped pet search for alternatives.
For FOURTEEN years, I have been trying to register my two cats with these charlatans, but it has been a bureaucratic NIGHTMARE. Between the slobs at the shelter where I adopted my cats to these gasbags at Home Again, I have been given the run around that not even THE WORST government hellhole would put you through. And if you ask for accountability, some dork tells you that there's nothing they can do and that they "really don't want to do this with me!"
Went on site after vet inserted chip on our cat to finish the profile, first year being free. They asked for a credit card to renew yearly, (beware) DONT DO IT! The very next day three charges were made to our account two for $21.99 and one for $38.98. On my account profile it show three charges two for $0.00 and one for $16.99 WTF? Tried calling them and it goes right to elevator to hell music for about ten minutes then to give us your info and we'll call back haven't received any return calls. Sent them an email no return emails. Do not pay online wait for bill or better yet find another company there's a reason they have one star rating! Make sure you ask your vet what company they use.
Do not submit card information for the initial registration. The balance says it is zero; however, the company will charge you 22 dollars. You will then have to wait a half an hour on hold to talk to someone who is overseas.
Found a lost dog with their microchip. They can't get in touch with the owners which I understand isn't entirely their fault. However, they have hung up on me multiple times, and when I say multiple I mean AT LEAST 5 times. They are making it impossible for me to return this dog to it's owners. Also been left on hold for 30 minutes at a time at which point I get hung up on.
When I tried to use the online renewal app I got an error message that my name contained illegal characters which is weird because my name just have letters LOL.
But when I called they were very courteous and helpful. So, they just have to resolve their renewal app flaw and they're good.
I also signed up for auto renewal every year and I hope that goes smoothly given some of the concerns I had reading below reviews.
This was the vet's choice of chip registration not my own, and I jave been completely unable to register my pet's chip. Based on other reviews this seems to be the norm for this company.
The veterinarian Banfield used this chipping service however after my pet was chipped I was never able to register my pet either on line or over the phone. If calling Homeagain no one answers and the connection would drop after 10 minutes of waiting on hold. If I got a live person they always transfered the call back into the recording and eventually the call would drop. No service to speak of and now I have to rechip my pet with a different vet and chip service
I called with a simple login issue and a lost pet. They were too rude, stupid, and nasty to provide basic assistance and behave with basic manners. When I became mildly irritated as a result the agent said they would terminate the call if I continued "acting that way." I asked what way that was and they refused to answer. These people need serious psychological help.
First do not do an autopay with this company. Wait for your bill and then either call to pay or send a check via USPS. I called to set up autopay to start n December and after they confirmed it can be done, they charged me over a month early.
Their customer service takes a long time to come on the phone, and when they do, they have no authorization to help. This type of underhanded business practice is nothing short of thievery. If I could give them zero rating, I would have.
I hadn't realized until today that it is, in fact, a scam. My cat died in August and today I got an email from HomeAgain asking me to renew my plan with them. I called their help number and discovered all I was able to get were recorded messages selling other kinds of products and there was no way to actually speak to someone. That will teach, e. Thousands of dollars spent for absolutely nothing, I was duped and I'm embarrassed because my entire work career was spent as a fraud investigator for the federal government.
I've been a Home Again customer for 11 years. And, several years ago, I even did a testimonial for their corporate newsletter, praising their 24 hour medical hotline. Over the last year, their service has, in my opinion, gone from 5 stars to zero stars. The don't have anyone answering the phones for significant time periods. I've been on hold for 20 minutes and counting. And it's not the first time this has happened to me. I contacted them directly, 6 months ago, to complain about the deteriorated service and its no better than it was back then. I will not be renewing this service that I have previously lauded.
I haven't lost a pet but found one. We found a stray dog who was microchipped. The woman who was the owner admitted to dumping the dog on the highway and we decided to keep her. I've been attempting to transfer our dog's microchip to my name and address for 2 months. I can't get anyone who knows what to do on the phone and no one will help me through messaging. I finally got word that the chip transfer has gone through this morning but the $25 we paid isn't showing and they want me to pay again. This has been such a pain. I'm glad she's chipped but won't get HomeAgain for my next pet if I can help it. 10/10 for frustration and awful customer support.
This company is a joke and I will not waste my time with them any more. Spent three days trying to register the tracking chip with them. Their web site is down and has been for the past three days, and no one answers the phone. After reading these reviews, I now know why I cant get through to them. They simply don't care about providing any kind of service. I have spent the last 3 days trying to get ahold of any actual person and I have selected every option in their phone tree menu and it just keeps me on hold and never connects me to anyone, even the "report a lost or found pet" no one answers. I stayed on hold for 2 hours on that line just to see if anyone would pick up. I will check with my vet on an alternative chipping as this company sucks and I will not give them any of my financial info and I will also be complaining to the local humane society that uses their chips.
I hAVE LEFT 3 MESSAGES TRYING TO REGISTER MY DOG. NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK AND NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE PHONE. IF THEY SAY THEY HAVE SOME ONE TO ANSWER THE PHONE 24/7 IT IS A LIE! I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND IF YOU CAN'T KEEP THIS REVIEW BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PUT A RECEIPT IN THEN YOU DON'T WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Unable to register chip number. Opened 2 claims and haven't been able to speak to customer service.
These people have no common sense! They charged me almost $50 for an enrollment and when I tried to call I was on hold for almost an hour! I tried so hard to just work with these people and maybe negotiate to see if I could at least get my refund, but nope! I sent them emails, I left voicemails, I never got any type of help, and any agent I spoke to left me on hold and eventually hung up! I can't... I'm just gonna close my account if at all possible to go with a different company. This is just ridiculous. I've NEVER been dealt like this before with any kind of customer service.
Up until this past year - I have easily renewed my pet's chip. Now it won't work. They don't answer the phone and they don't respond to emails. I have tried for SEVEN MONTHS! And to top it off I can't remove my credit card. Guess the best I can do is report to the BBB. Not sure what else to do
Absolutely impossible to get anyone on the phone. You are on hold for HOURS. Emailing them does nothing - they say they are working on your question/issue but never get back to you and never update anything and the emails they 'say' will be sent to you never come. Totally the WORST company to do business with. I am also emailing the BBB regarding them. They are awful.
