I ordered the 'Sameh' dress for my gradball. It was a lovely dress but cost £129 and the wrap over front was so high that it showed my knickers and the zip was much too thick for the dress and bulged out. I had to stitch the front and the zip in order to fix it.
I emailed house of CB about these issues and never got a reply.
I made my first order which arrived fast and I can quite honestly say I am very impressed with every aspect of this company. The customer service right to the quality of the dress I ordered. The Quality is actually exceptional. For the price I paid its mad! I have a UK 12 hip and UK 14/16 top size so its always a nightmare for me trying to get the sizes right. But this fabric they use combined with the thickness and quality of gets around that completely. Cant say thank you enough for my beautiful classy (slightly sexy) dress. Well done House of CB London. Just putting my next order in today.
I would strongly advice everyone to stay far away from this company
I ordered a dress online at the price of £150. When the dress arrived it was completely see through and was not suitable to wear out at all!
There advertising is horrendous. Once I seen how different the dress looked compare to how they advertised it I paid £7 to return this item back.
I then emailed to confirm if they had received the item to then have an email back saying that they will not refund me for my item as they detected perfume on the dress. After countless of emails they took 4 days to respond and when asking for head of complaints department they completely ignored my question and said how they can not assist me any further.
The item was returned new and unworn and all the tags were still in place. (which is what it states in there policy) They expect people to not try on an item which is an absolute joke I had perfume on from the morning and cant image that a strong sense of perfume was detected as I tried it on 9 hours later.
The company is a joke and will do anything to keep money.
I ordered a dress at 7pm it was here next day! Beautifully packaged and dress is amazing! I ordered a medium which was true to size would definitely order again thank you x
Exposing Celeb Boutique a. K. a 'Original Beauty Technology Company Limited' of Hong Kong.
Anyone who buys from this company has been fooled into paying £50+ for a label and a box and are bragging about paying £100+ for a £30 dress!
CB are registered in Hong Kong, China. Not the UK. Their postal address is, as stated on their website:
Unit 01,10/F, Carnival Commercial Building
18 Java Road, North Point, Hong Kong.
DO NOT SEND ANY RETURNS TO THIS ADDRESS - I wonder why...
All it takes is a little google search of their address to see that this is just a Chinese manufacturer and lots of companies are registered with this address.
Every single dress is made in China and ships from China, not the UK.
The dresses can be found for £30 from Chinese manufacturers on AliBaba, DHGate, SammyDress, etc.
CB started off with dropshipping directly from China (being the middle man where people place orders on a UK site and then the orders are just sent directly from the factory in China). The label on the dresses back then said CelebCityNY which was not CB. They would cut out part of the care label to stop people finding the manufacturer by the product code. This was set up by a 17 year old girl from her bedroom, Conna Walker! Smart cookie knew how to fool people. The website was amateur looking back then.
As they got popular, they found manufacturers who would put their brand label on the dresses. They then put them in a fancy box with some ribbon, all of which can be bought for £2-3 wholesale, spent lots of money on marketing to get lots of followers on social media, gave celebrities free dresses and voila!
Now people are obsessed with posting pictures of themselves wearing this overpriced tat because of the brand name and apparent Luxury because of the price.
CB have been investing a lot of time and money to stop this being exposed. Plenty of sellers on ebay have been forced off the site and small boutiques selling these dresses are being threatened.
I gotta hand it to CONna, for being a CON artist and getting rich from it but people need to know the truth.
I purchased a shirt online and return it the next day for a different size and never got the shirt or money back. I sen them emails and never got an response. I also reached out on Instagram and finally got an response that if they received the item they would've send it back to me! I just let it go it was only 59$
I purchased a dress online last year september. Once i received the dress and tried it on i noticed that there was a big tare in the seem and as it was not in a suitable condition to wear i sent it back to them for a refund which they refused to do for me. I requested to speak to managment a number of times and i have also contacted trading standards but as they have no method of contact other than their email address it has been very difficult to carry this futher. After 4 months these decided it would be reasonable to send me the same dress in a suitable condition which they claim to have sent me, which i am still yet to recieve after 7months over a dress that costed £115 incredibly disgusting.
P. s this poor excuse of a retail company is not even apart of a disputes resolution scheme.
SO WARNING. Once you buy it seems what ever they say goes
Poorest 'security guard' employed discrimates young people which I personally think is unacceptable. The whole store is deceiving - alongside the awful workers too. I wouldn't advise people buy to from this store.
I would say the quality of the dress is fine. However, I happened to find a flaw of the fabric after I have purchased it. Although it was quite an obvious one, I only spotted it after I got home. Then I tried to return the dress to the store, but the staff was really rude. They said they can't refund it because they have found white marks on it. It is weird! Because I have only tried it on for once. Since this dress was out for display, there could be a possibility it was already there before I bought it. However, they insisted that they can't refund it for me. After I got home, I tried to remove the white marks by patting on the dress gently and it did help to remove it! So then I got back to the store and ask for the refund, the staff was extremely rude and said I have washed it and again refused to refund it for me! I can't describe how terribly rude they were, and their attitude has demonstrated that it was all my fault which has caused the white marks and flaw. I understand that they tried to position them self in a luxurious level, but they did not demonstrate to me that they have the right skills to achieve that level. I didn't receive any apology from them. Wanna emphasize the fact that I didn't cut the bundle off from the dress, and I also took a pic in the fitting room when I tried it on. The flaw was already there in my pic!
Received my dress with a flaw in the fabric, basically they are not interested and are refusing to even give me the name of a manager I can write to. Customer service out sourced to an email centre I reckon. Don't touch them with a barge pole!
I have read a few negative reviews and fortunately I haven't had that experience. I order a dress from House of CB website at least twice a month. I know when I order there product it's different and no one else has it. I have always received my orders in two-three days. The quality is amazing. I just recently took a trip to London and visited the store. Best European experience I had. I am loyal to them and basically I have started to redo my closet with all there product. I am 5"9 and have hips and I love the fact the dresses and skirts are long enough. I am a very happy customer.
Having just spend the last month in battle with House of CB, I finally got my money back rather than a credit note. They are not aware of UK Consumer regulations and even when sent the evidence they were not willing to accept their policy is unlawful. I got help from Citizens Advice - they were fab and reported the company to Trading Standards - and eventually my credit card. In reading those who love the site, I agree they have some lovely and unique items - my daughter kept one of there dresses and she looks stunning in it. All is fine until you have a problem and that's when they are crap. If anyone out there does have an issue don't give up, their help centre I think contain little robots who can't write a sensible email, head office is Hong Kong and you can't get details of anyone in authority. I tweeted Conna Walker - didn't get a reply though!
I ordered some shoes from this website and returned them just outside the window for a refund (bear in mind this was over xmas so would have expected an extended return period anyway). They are refusing to even issue me a credit note and have returned the shoes back to me (which are too small). The shoes are still for sale at full price on their website. This is stupid customer service! I could have spent the credit note and more on something else. Instead I'm stuck with shoes which i can't wear and will never shop there again. Why House of CB? Poor management decision.
They sent me the wrong dress. Told me to return it so that they could send me the correct dress I ordered. Then MADE ME PAY half for returning the UNORDERED dress. Then are rude to me over email. Then blanked my message. I will be taking this further as their conduct is blatantly illegal under consumer law... 2 weeks, many emails, and time and worry later, they have accepted that they must refund the money for the postage.
I returned a dress in September I still have not received a refund even after giving my tracking number! Absolutely disgraceful and I will be taking this further
I purchased a dress on this website and they kept charging my card for no reason! When I had a return I gave it back the next day tag everything on it, they didn't return the said I wore it. Please don't buy from this website they are just stealers!
I ordered from this website to receive a dress that was unfortunately too big (my mistake entirely). I sent it back asap, however, being from Australia the parcel did take longer to return which worried me. I emailed in regards to this worry (thinking it may have been lost in transit), to receive warm, reassuring replies from several ladies. They emailed me as soon as they received my order! Absolutely amazing, caring staff & impeccable customer service, fast replies, quality material and speedy shipping - what more could you want?
