Imgur used to be great 10+ years ago. Now it's filled with obviously promoted propaganda and censorship. Well there was even censorship 10 years ago. I remember posting pictures and art and being made fun of by nasty toxic drones. I tried to post a picture about the millions of people starving in Yemen and it got down voted and censored. That is both disgusting and disturbing. These people have no souls. Total narcissistic psychos. It's still okay for hosting private images I guess, but for entertainment it's garbage.

Thought this app was great for posting cute cat pics until the left loonies Nazi camp guards bully all users not 100% insane as them just to ban the non conformist since they will recieve complaints from the Hive. Too bad for imgur,. This could be a great site if it wasn't for the toxic users.

If you're not an extreme left winger, you are not allowed to voice an opinion. They will delete your comments immediately without any explanation, just because it doesn't fit with their agenda. IMGUR is the most petty online community I've ever seen. Don't bother visiting IMGUR.

The blinding irony of a user-base that decries injustice, yet bullies and threatens anyone else who don't fit their ideologies is so funny that it's sad.

There is a secret Discord server which is invite-only by which an elite handful of people coordinate the suppression the free speech of differing thoughts and opinions by downvoting them into oblivion in order to ensure they don't reach any visibility. What's more disturbing is that Imgur, the company, does nothing to prevent it, because why would they? It's just an accurate reflection of their own ideologies - so I guess it makes sense in the end.

I once posted a meme which said, "Hard to Swallow Pills: You Choose to be Offended".

The Tsunami of hate, toxicity, venom, and outcry was overwhelming. Out of curiosity I looked through the profiles of the most venomous users... without fail, every single one of them were lonely, bitter, out-of-work, no-life-having, blame-gaming, finger-point, take-no-responsibility for their $#*!ty lives, kinds of people. Every one of them made an average of 100 replies to other people's posts in a single day. They obviously don't work, and if they do, they should be fired for not doing it by spending their entire days on their $#*! site.

It truly is a horrible, HORRIBLE website that used to be really cool.

There are some who posts funny pets memes along with a smattering of wholesome things, but they're drowned out by the circle-jerk of users who ejaculate their echoing-ideology into each other's mouths all day long.

Imgur is filled with a bunch of pathetic fat losers. I literally get mass downvoted because I was asking why fox news counted as Fascist propaganda. Then I say that all fascists and republicans should be imprisoned and Liberals/Socialists are the best people ever and I get mass upvoted. Mfs are literal losers. Browsing imgur used to be a daily activity to pass time. It was a place of sharing images covering a wide range of topics. Sure, there were opinions on current events, but they covered the gamut. Once prized for it's community, imgur has devolved into a circlejerk where concepts of social justice are selectively applied. I honestly can't tell at this point whether the current community is stupid enough to believe its hubris, or if most the comments just come from bots. Come for the memes, stay for the for the doublethink and self congratulatory hivemind at this point.

It's very unfortunate that sometimes if you want to download some interesting picture from the internet, it will take you to this image hosting site.

Now, links to image hosting sites aren't bad per se, but this particular site is a terrible one.

The problem is many people use imgur to host images, so you can't avoid using or going to the site when you want to download a gif or jpg.
And when you go to the site the biggest problem occurs, you are forced to see extreme left wing hate speech and other highly offensive content.

The site is run rampant for pure hate against republicans, trump voters, whites, Christians, basically anything or anyone who isn't part of the extreme far left minority.

Average jane or joe, who just wanted to see an entertaining pic or vid need not apply here. Regular everyday people are treated as worse than hitler on imgur.

Dreadful, toxic community. I remember way back in the day when the dude on Reddit made the site. I was an early adopter, but then life happened, and I kind of fell out, aside from when I needed a link to upload a pic. I recently downloaded the app, and there's a "community" aspect. These people are some of the most vile, ideologically possessed people, and it's hard to believe it's all organic. Administered content or not, they are some of the most hateful people you'll come across online, and they're all extremely liberal/left wing - not that this is inherently a bad thing, but their polemic political views are the source hate. If you aren't lock-step in all their rigid, administered beliefs, they will *hate* you. Avoid this site, and just hope someone else comes up with a simple image uploader soon. Also, the "feed" function is garbage, and way too one-sided politically to be interesting. They only post things that reinforce their views, and that show how much they hate the people they've been told are their enemies. The longer you spend on Imgur, the worse a human you will become.

I was a member since it was just for image sharing. Now you can't post anything with being bashed. Literally anything. My last post was of 10 hot rods from a car show. The comment section turned political within 5 comments. I'm not too political but it eventually sucked me in. I posted some crime stats from the FBI.gov website and was shadow banned immediately! Made a new account and posted some stats from homeland security about being prepared. Immediately shadow banned. I contacted support and never ever heard anything back of why. I'm pretty sure they just block my email address. No matter who you are stay far away from this site if you believe in First Amendment. Because they sure are not for it. They preach freedom and democracy but they don't practice it. It's too bad. It's almost comical how bad this website is.

Imgur hires mods with left wing bias and is expressed in their daily operations. I can't count how many times I made a comment critical of Socialism and it gets taken down without warning or explanation. This is not on their TOS and violates their own TOS and supposed ethos. Imgur is a socialist propaganda echo chamber.

I can not trust the company to host images, that have any remote negative view on American left poltics think, publicly or not shared. I am not in the usa butt if I upload images for my own use and it is not viewed as correct I fully belave it will be removed. For example an image of a boxing group meet, or my boys doing boy things. That may be taken as wrong activity and removed. Best avoid it happing.

Look I am not very much a political man and when I am I am civil about it. I used to frequent this site on a daily basis but the political commentary infecting every single feed with comments is offputting in every regard, race and justification for violence against political opponents (generally republicans and right wingers here) is used in most single front page posting with top comments regularly calling for outright violence. I just wanted to see animal pictures and the occasional info graphics. Here is a quick example from my experience today (7 March, 2022), for reference I don't give crap about some truck convoy to DC but when I see people posting and upvoting comments on how an A-10, a close air support assault aircraft, should be used on these truckers on the road (thus implying using these aircraft to brutally murder truckers and destroy their vehicles), I find this rhetoric deeply disturbing. I will not be visiting this site again and I hope the government regulates and shuts down this cesspool of lunacy and disinformation.

The front page of Imgur is obnoxiously left wing but with absolutely nothing of substance to say about politics. This is basically where 12 year olds who think they are enlightened socialists go when they get banned on Reddit and Twitter because even people who agreed with them politically couldn't stand them. Mods are also these 12 year olds so if you post anything even remotely against the opinion of these children you will get downvoted and reported till your account is banned. However, you will get tons of upvotes if you post anything with a left-wing bent. Literally, like you can post something pro-pedo and it will get upvoted if its attacking a right winger who said something negative about pedos.

Imgur is plagued by liberal users that cannot tolerate any viewpoints that they do not share. Take any political post and look for the "bad replies" link and you will see that all of the liberal users "down vote" any conservative comments; thus hiding said replies from normal view which is in effect a form of user controlled censorship. Case in point. Someone posted a meme to "tax billionaires" and many replies pointing out how dumb that is got down voted/hidden from the comments section. Anyone who has 1/2 a brain will know that when you "tax the rich" consumers end up paying said tax as billionaires will only incorporate that tax hike into the MSRP of their product, in more simple terms... pass that tax onto their customers in the form of price markups. Even if you tried to educate the liberal userbase, all of your messages will get down voted and hidden from anyone not willing to look at those bad replies to get a more balanced consensus of any particular topic.

Even after they implemented the filters, the constant stream of Anti-Trump/Right STILL clutters the Front Page. Going to Usersub is all kinds of crappy anime pictures and game templates, so it's not really an escape from the politics. This used to be a really cool site to get/share memes on, but those days are long gone. The ads are out of control. The mods will ban you for stating a reasonable counterpoint (like if you are a Vet, and correct misinformation about the VA for example). It's a sad little echo-chamber like Reddit and Fark. Deleting my profile sucked, I'd had it since 2011 if memory serves. I'd look to verify but again, I deleted it and their $#*!ty phone app. I'm not into circlejerks.

Imgur goes to great lengths to police their platforms but does so in favor of high output users. So it becomes a power dynamic and if you say something they disagree with especially on Sunday when there are no moderators, then they will multi report you and get you a 24 hour ban in which you cannot defend yourself. They literally practice and allow censorship, but in a narrative changing way. Very toxic and allows abusers to feel they have a place to dominate others.
They added filters now to block unwanted tags, political serial posters, and now you can also block anyone who harasses you or you suspect may be dis genuine, etc. Doesn't change the fact that many users are simply to is and can still see and harm your content activity.

Imgur Storytime: Leaving A Literal Leftist Cult

So back in May of 2020 as things were heating up towards the tail end of the Presidential election, I was posting lots of rage filled and hateful comments and post against anyone and everyone that dared support Donald Trump. I hated Trump for lots of reasons even before the election. Mainly because I believed then and still believe now that he a sexist, bigoted, racist bully. So, because of my strong stance against Trump and the MAGA Cult and my visibility on Imgur I was recruited, yes recruited to an Imgur Leftist community on Discord. As you can see in the Imgur Chat boxes, of which I left out my and the recruiters' usernames for privacy they were gathering as many Imgur users as possible into this Liberal/Leftist only Discord group with the sole purpose of essentially taking over Imgur for the Democratic/Left Leaning/Liberal ideology and boy was I all for it.

I did join up their little army and I participated in a community that at one point had about 50-60 (last I was a part of it) very active members that would browse User sub for anything at all they didn't agree with, share on the Discord so they can all attack in downvoting so posts don't get traction and see the front page and they would leave their hate comments, baiting OP's into saying something they could use to submit as going against the Imgur community guidelines to get anyone they didn't agree with banned. And boy did this stuff work. I mean, I alone must have gotten at least 20-30 user accounts banned and I know that with this Discord community they would get at least a few a day banned, and nothing even related to Trump/Conservatives/Republicans even sees the light of day on Imgur today, so they are very active still today and very affective.

I enjoyed being part of this Discord because I too wanted Trump gone and the Democrat's back in power. But I promised myself that I would stop the nonsense after the election if Trump lost and he did. Ha-Zah! But I didn't, I was as hateful and vengeful as ever because I was lead believe the idea that Trump is still a treat, so we essentially still needed to be jerks to anyone who agrees with Trump on Imgur. But after a while I grew tired of it. I felt I and this Discord community were becoming just as bad as the MAGA community, so I left. Wish I would have taken some screenshots while I was part of it for more evidence, but I never thought they would turn against me. But that's exactly what they did. I left a single comment, that they didn't like. A single comment that went against their leftist ideology. (I'm not a Dem/Repub/or anything) This single comment led them to then gang up against me, like they do so many others and now even with all my anti-Trump posts, I am the enemy. They downvoted all my comments and posts to hell and even worked together to get my account banned which Imgur seemed happy to do very quickly. Now I knew what it felt like to experience the hateful vitriol of this so-called liberal community that acted like it cared so much about America. And I'm just so over it. I'm done. I'm done with the hate, I'm done with the harassment, I'm done with the abuse. I've truly seen and experienced now why the divide is so great in this country. We are at each other's throats, playing this game and its disgusting. All while Imgur seems to stand by and let it happen. Because if you really pay attention to the comments of those that attack anyone on the right, they sure don't comply with Imgur' s community guidelines. Yell, I think that's enough story. I'm sure this will get downvoted to hell and I'll get called a liar, MAGAet, Incel, faker, etc. And they'll work to get this off imgur and yes, new account banned. Maybe they'll even try to put my original account on blast, which will only prove my point of the existence of the Leftist Discord that they unironically titled "Deep State". I still like Imgur and want to be a part of the community, but down with being a part of the political side and hate seeing that there is so much hate being spread within it.

The front page of featured images are packed with Trump-hate and radical left wing content even some calling for white genocide and to "kill all whites". None of that ever gets removed in fact it get's upvoted. Yet I got my post removed for "violating community guidelines" but all it was was a simple post about the fact that Georgetown lost to Colorado after kneeling for the anthem it didn't have anything actually violating in it. It's basically Twitter now but with more GIFs and a downvote button. Avoid this site at all costs.
