They make it impossible for you to cancel your account. I received one terrible job applicant for a real estate assistant. The only other thing I got from them is a bill for over $100. Thank God my American Express card was compromised and I had to get a new one. I will contact everyone I know and recommend that they never use this service. I suppose it's possible they could find a qualified job candidate but it feels a little like extortion. They give you virtually no ability to cancel your account. When I looked up a customer service phone number I had to fill out an entire page of information as to why I wanted to cancel why I needed to speak with them what my phone number was etc. etc. Etc. Get these people out of my life!
Indeed first disabled my account because they did not believe my business was real. I submitted the documents and they reinstated it. Now after 40+ resumes they have disabled if again and provided no reason what so ever. When we contacted indeed customer service they stated that the final decision was made by quality control and their is no number to contact them and I need to appeal which could take another week. This has created a lot of undue stress this website is supposed to alleviate. Now it makes our business look week while we are offering full time jobs with RRSP and benefits in a community that lacks jobs and many struggle with staying above the poverty line. What a disappointment. I would 100% advise everyone to avoid them.
Hi Rebecca, we have reached out to you by private message with more details. Thank you.
We are a business with a listing on Indeed. On the 5th day of our posting, unfortunately on a Saturday, our account was suddenly just shut down. There is no reason given, and no way to contact them except by email (which, from what I'm seeing online, they don't respond to for days.) We are desperate to hire, they have shut us down for the weekend, we have no way to contact the people who already applied. Evidently, they don't choose to spend some of the millions they make a year on having someone answering emergency chats or calls from their employers on the weekends and don't care what the impact is on their paying client's businesses.
Hi Jeanne, thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. To explain, all accounts on Indeed are moderated to ensure not only that our job posting guidelines are being followed but they are also moderated for security purposes. In this case, you will need to call our Employer Mainline directly. Please call using the phone number on this article from our employer help center: https://indeed.force.com/employerSupport1/s/article/207325006?language=en. The article also includes availability times and days as well. Thank you!
I am part of a newly founded organization whose mission its to provide a full range of therapy services to vulnerable populations including children with various disabilities. We are launching operations across multiple regions including in Canada and the U.S.
We have spent months developing programs, partnering with other therapy and social service providers so we can make real impact in communities. One of our last phases is hiring and we thought Indeed would be perfect to get our recruiting pipeline going.
They disabled our ability to post without giving a reason. We appealed, figuring an algorithm flagged us and once a human put eyes on our listing we'd be back up... but they rejected our appeal as well.
I eventually got a human on the phone and they said it was because the billing address didn't match our business address... Nowhere in their posting guidelines does it say this is a requirement.
Now we've spent hours researching online and calling their support number trying to get our ad back up, instead of focusing on launching our critically important programs.
I'm appalled at their lackadaisical approach to supporting these issues. We have started actively researching alternatives, we just didn't foresee that we'd have issues like this, especially since we're paying for our ads to be sponsored. Do better, Indeed.
If anyone knows of better job posting services, let us know!
Hi Jamil, thanks for reaching out. To provide some clarity, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard rolling reviewing process that can occur at any time. Our team has concluded that Indeed will be unable to show your openings in our search results and the account will remain in its current disabled status. In addition, Indeed does not allow non-job postings. This includes, but is not limited to, training and education opportunities, multi-level marketing opportunities, volunteer jobs, franchising opportunities, jobseeker employment solicitation, expired jobs, and jobs which do not represent a specific employer vacancy. Indeed always retains the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. If you have urgent hiring needs, we suggest utilizing other hiring services.
After joining my new company in September of last year I worked closely with my team of 3 Indeed reps to ensure my new organization was properly meeting all search quality standards. We revamped the entire recruiting process all the way down to the job ad and the interview scripts to ensure there were zero search quality issues. My organization had been plagued with a run of issues, hence why they brought me in. Fast forward 8 months later, out of the blue, my organization was disabled. My indeed reps stopped answering my emails, I lost access to thousands and thousands of applicants that we had already purchased, and still to this day cannot get a path forward. No rationale. No rhyme or reason. They have now crippled our recruiting engine single handedly with no recourse. We offered rectification countless times but they won't tell us what we did wrong. It's disgusting that a company can do quickly ruin an essential function of a business with zero regard for the lives they impact.
You have to do better, Indeed. I spent thousands of dollars to play by your rules and we still got the brunt end.
Hi Michael, thanks for reaching out. To provide some clarity, all accounts and jobs are subject to our standard rolling reviewing process that can occur at any time. Our team has reviewed accounts for your company multiple times and has made a company-wide decision that Indeed will not show your openings in our search results and the account will remain in its current disabled status. As the account has been disabled by Indeed you do not have the option to post a new position. Please note: Indeed may reject or remove any job and may disable any Company's account, for any or no reason. We cannot give every reason why a job or a company may be removed, and we always retain the right to remove any job, organic or sponsored, if we feel it is in our interest or our users’ interest. This is a final decision that will not be reversed. If you have urgent hiring needs, we recommend utilizing other hiring services. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
I am a small business owner and keep getting rejected on trying to get an account. It asks for one thing and I send it and now it says something else I need to send. There isn't a way to talk to someone.
Hi Michelle, we have sent you a private message offering further assistance, please follow up with us in there so we can have a closer look at this.
I had an employers account on indeed that was going great but suddenly they disabled me for no reason.
Hello Aarushi,
Thank you for contacting us. At this time, we can see you have worked to appeal this decision. Ultimately, Indeed has decided not to show your jobs as there is a job seeker fee required (which is not allowed on Indeed) as well as complaints from Job Seekers. For your reference, please see Indeed’s terms of service(https://www.indeed.co.uk/legal?hl=en&redirect=true#tos) and our Job Posting Best Practices.
No further action is required on your part. No additional details regarding this decision have been provided. I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Your ability to post jobs on Indeed has been disabled.
One or more of the jobs you posted on Indeed was deemed not consistent with Indeed's quality standards. You will not be able to post any jobs directly on Indeed.
Indeed blocked our newly applied account for no reason stating that we have violated quality standards. We are the direct employer giving opportunities to job seekers and only after posting 2 vacancies they blocked the account. We have carefully read the do's and don't and quality standards of indeed and at no reason at all to block our account. This is the first time in a very long time after using indeed that our account got blocked after posting two vacancies. We haven't even received any CV's from the posting yet but our account has already been blocked.
Hi there, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. In these cases, employers will need to submit an appeal to our moderation team. This can be done by logging into your account, when you go to your dashboard you will see the option that states “appeal this decision” or “contact us” and you can begin filling out the form. Once it's submitted our moderation team will follow up with you directly within the next 24 hours via email from employersupport@indeed.com. Double-check your spam/junk folder as well since sometimes our emails can be sent there as well. If you ever need additional assistance in the future, feel free to reach out at sitejabber@indeed.com.
Indeed debited my credit card after disable my indeed account I have appealed send relevant documents they asked for more which I did send them and they went quiet on me I demanded refund becouse the job was not even visible on their platform and it never went online but yet they took my money and ghost me
Hi there, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. We would be happy to further assist you with any additional issues you may have that pertain to your Indeed employer account. When you have a moment, reach out to our team at sitejabber@indeed.com with the email address associated with your account. Thank you!
If I could give Indeed a minus 5 review, I would! Set up account, upload company formation docs to verify it, post job ad and 24 hours later, I'm told the account is disabled. When trying to appeal the decision, I can't even log back in because the system won't send a verification code (probably because the account was disabled)! So now they have all our company information and they have the audacity to send me marketing emails. Yeah ok, I'll use your service - oh no wait I can't because you disabled it! What a pathetic joke! Looks like Indeed does this a lot too!
Hi Jonathan, it is normal that all accounts will be reviewed as we must verify the connection between the account creator and the company they are hiring for. We must also ensure that our quality guidelines are met. If enough information is not provided when the account is being created or we find a violation of our guidelines, then the account will go into the appeal status that you're now experiencing. Indeed was my go to help wanted site but now they changed their model it is so complicated and no matter what you put in the software changes your fees so i had to call 7-8 times at the end i spent nearly $1,000 and received a handful resume mostly from outside of California (even when my range was 25) and none qualified to follow up
Hi Mehran, thank you for taking the time to leave us some feedback. Indeed does have a cost per application sponsored job model where employers have the ability to choose for themselves how much they would like to spend per application. Employers can adjust the number of applications they want to receive and Indeed will pause the job once it reaches the number of applications that were purchased. CPA jobs can be paused or closed at any time, and employers will only be charged for the amount of applications they received. In addition, this model offers Deal Breakers. When hiring for a job that requires more qualifications, employers can use Indeed Questions to communicate must-have requirements to job seekers. When it is indicated that a question is a deal breaker, employers will only be charged for applications that meet the deal breaker question criteria. Also, Indeed does not have the ability to post jobs, that is only available to account holders. If you ever need additional assistance in the future, feel free to reach out at sitejabber@indeed.com. Thank you.
Worst employment site for employer! It flagged my account for absolutely no reason! I created 2 accounts (because the first got flagged as well) and both of them are flagged!
Hi! We have reached out via private message, please take a look when you are able. Thank you!
I am not happy with the fact that Indeed has decided to disable my account with no valid reason. I understand that you may have your own guidelines and expectations and I'm sure there is a better way to communicate them with clients without blocking active recruitments. I am very disappointed as I had scheduled Walk-in interviews and now the candidates cannot get that information from me as I cannot access their CV's. What kind of system is this? A complete waste of my money, time and a damage to my company's reputation.
Hi Redemta! We reached out to you via private message and look forward to assisting further.
The business account was disabled for no reason at all i have submit all the necessary documents that they need and still no response. Poor service quality
Hello! We have reached out via PM, please reply back when you can. Thank you!
Just as I was about to interview my applicants, they disabled my account without giving a reason. How unprofessional. Makes my company looks bad for disappearing on the candidates (because we can no longer reach them) and throws away all the work they've put into their applications which is a terrible/disrespectful thing to do. They mentioned low quality standards for listings as potential reasons, well this is another type of low standard. Just horrid.
Don't pay, even employers who've paid for their services get this type of treatment.
Edit:
I do understand that as I am using Indeed's platform that Indeed would reserve the right to make decisions on my account. However, I feel that there is a certain level of social responsibility involved in making these decisions when a company such as Indeed reaches a certain size and becomes a platform that many prospective employers and employees rely on for their living/livelihood. I also feel a quite blindsided/treated unfairly in regards to how this matter was handled and it puts to waste a lot of the work the candidates and my company have put into this endeavour, not only making them feel ignored/perhaps even inadequate but making me look bad as a firm for being unprofessional/unable to reach them.
It would have made more sense if they had concerns about the listing to give us a chance to make the changes rather than say that they allowed 3 appeals through their system without even telling us (and I basically sent the same message 3 times thinking it might not have gone through) and just close off the account. It's simply lazy and negligent.
Hi Sam, thanks for reaching out to share your experience. We followed up with you via private message.
Sponsored a job for £3 a day for a week and was charged £156. There's no telephone number to call to sort it and emails go unanswered. Employers avoid!
Hi Joe! Thanks for reaching out. We followed up with you in a private message. We look forward to your response.
They have many bogus jobs many shady jobs and bad jobs overall the good jobs they have are often misclassified under incorrect search terms
Far too many people apply to jobs on indeed and you get lost in the deleted piles
It is the biggest most colossal waste of time
Hi there, we are very sorry to hear about your poor experience with Indeed. We have sent you a private message to further assist.
I created an employer account and posted a job. The next day my employer account was disabled so I inquired about it. In response I received this email:
Thank you for contacting us about your inability to post jobs on your Indeed account. Your account has been disabled because its relationship with your company could not be verified. For the security of our employers and job seekers, Indeed must verify all accounts and jobs.
In order to verify your account, please reply to this email with a scan, image or electronic copy of one of the following items:
*Utility bill that includes your business's name and address. This includes water/sewer bill, trash/recycling bill, energy/electricity bill, gas bill, phone bill, or internet bill.
*Business license that includes your company's name and verifiable company address or a related/parent company where the relationship is verifiable.
*Tax permit that includes your company's name and verifiable company address or a related/parent company where the relationship is verifiable.
*Insurance document that includes your company's name and verifiable company address or a related/parent company where the relationship is verifiable.
*Please note, publicly available, handwritten, or editable versions of documents cannot be verified.
Once we receive a reply to this email with the document, the review of your account will resume.
Thank you,
Indeed Search Quality
I provided an LLC document and was told they don't accept that as proof and that a local business license would suffice. I uploaded a business license and received this message:
It appears that your request may require specialized attention and our Client Success team can better assist you. Please view our Help Center for further assistance with this issue.
Thank you,
Indeed Search Quality
The help center is no help at all in re-enabling my account and I've told them this. They've stopped responding to my emails and it makes me think the worst. I've done everything you've asked Indeed. Why aren't you re-enabling my account? Why can't you give me straight forward answers to help me solve this? Why aren't you responding to my emails?
My account has been blocked now for over a week. I have a limited company and have sent documents but they still haven't turned it back on.
This is really damaging to my bussienss!

Answer: Hello Anita, positions posted for free stay on Indeed for a total of 120 days. Sponsored positions can stay on the site until an employer has filled the job and closed it on Indeed.
Answer: Hi Sarah, we're sorry you haven't heard back from employers when submitting your resume on Indeed. We'd be happy to assist you here in reviewing your resume and offering suggestions for applying to jobs on the site. Please email us at sitejabber@indeed.com with a link to your Indeed Resume or document so that we can review. Thank you.
Answer: Hello Gerard, sorry for the negative experience. Indeed recently augmented existing search quality programs with new, ongoing strategies to make sure all jobs on Indeed meet standards for quality. This effort included a large scale review of job listings. Jobs that violated our guidelines and companies that did not meet our quality standards were disabled. We apologize that this was a frustrating process for you and will provide this feedback to our Search Quality team for future improvements.
Answer: By NO MEANS should you pursue this so-called job offer further and in fact, you should report them to the Better Business Bureau.
