How appalling that some wanker of an employee spit on an elderly man. Lol... its gonna be a deal breaker for a LOT of people...
My son is getting this week end and my husband waited until last minute to get his suit. After several failed attempts at other merchants I told him to go to Joe A Bank. From the moment we walked in the store we were treated with such warmth and welcoming. We went to the Hickory, NC location and our associate was "Scottie". She was so helpful in getting what we needed in the time crunch. Her knowledge of material and color is superb. It was a wonderful experience truly. Picked his suit up today after alterations and it is one gorgeous suit. We will definitely shop there in the future and recommend to all our friends. Thank you
I got married in July of 2019 and had quite the experience with Joseph A Banks. We ultimately decided to buy 6 suits as oppose to renting them for my 5 groomsmen and myself. Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable in selecting a suit and sizing them accordingly. We paid for our suits and were told some would come to the store and some would come to our houses.
I received mine first with the wrong tie. No big deal. Called Ron and he said bring it in to switch it out which I did.
My brother was told his suit was suit was in on the 4th of July. He went in and the shirt was not the right shirt. No alterations had also been made which he was already sized for. The staff couldn't find the paperwork to get the right shirt and he had to be remeasured. A week later, they call him to come back, this time they forgot to hem his pants. Few days later, he goes back in and the sleeves on the suit are the wrong length and have to come back again.
Next groomsmen is told his suit is in. He goes in and it doesn't fit. Comes back the next week and it doesn't fit again. The jacket was too tight and he could barely move in it. On the 3rd attempt, it finally fits.
Another groomsmen and another problem. He is told his suit is done and goes to pick it up and no alterations were made. They remeasure him and tell him they will rush it. Goes back in and the pants weren't altered. Has to come back in another day. This time, they were hemmed wrong. Finally his turn out to be right.
Might I add, some of these guys paid as much as an extra $80 dollars to have alterations made which we found to be ridiculous and made multiple trips back and forth to finally get the right sizing.
I do like the suits quality and a lot of the products they offer. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly but they seem to be very disorganized at times. I called Ron when it was getting close to our wedding date and asked for assurance that two of the suits would be done. He never really accepted responsibility for any of faults and insisted nothing was wrong.
I would strongly recommend purchasing a suit from another store or just renting one and saving yourself a very large headache like this again.
I bought a few items from the RYE NY location on Purchase St. I left the store and when I got home I realized that the shirts were the wrong size. I called the store a few minutes before they closed and told them that I can be there in a couple of minutes for exchange. I mentioned that I had a very important meeting in the morning and was traveling and could not get there at 10am the next morning due to my schedule. The salesperson said he could not help me because they were closing in a couple of minutes. I asked to speak to the Manager. When Luis the manager came to the phone he also said he could not help and to return the following day. I told him that I will come back the next day only to return the items I purchased due to their lack of empathy towards a customers needs. His reply was repulsive. He said" ya see now sir... THAT'S A THREAT! You ARE THREATENING ME." I can not believe his response to me. Rye seems to be a very nice neighborhood... These two guys working in there are not the type of people I would expect to work at your store. Rude after the sale PERIOD. And visible tattoos on the hands are unwelcoming. What are your on boarding procedures at Jos. A Bank? Oh wait... You have none. I will never do business at any location. The customer is the most valuable asset and you failed miserably to help my situation that could have been very easily taken care of with a more sophisticated salesperson.
Purchased a suit for a wedding. First the measurements were wrong, so the suit had to be tailored again. Then the suit was misplaced and when it finally was sent to the store, within 3 days of the event, I had to go with it as is. The fit even on their second attempt was not right. After wearing this suit one time, the pant seams came unsewn. Taking back to the store, I witness nothing but hassles, so I had it repaired by another source. For the price and "Quality" or lack there of, I will never purchase another suit here again.
Have been going to this location for a few years and always thought the service was great. Of course, the first time I experience a problem, I get no help or options... just sorry we can't help you. I bought 3 suits a year ago and have only worn them a few times (at best). The other day, I crouched down to pick something up and the pants split in the back (a little embarrassing). So when I brought them back they said there's nothing they can do. Not, hey let's see if we can find the same suit pants and see what we can do. Nothing. Well, goodbye Joseph A Banks! Never going back.
First I get a message saying I have a $50 no paperwork necessary with no mention that it would expire however it did. So I proceeded to buy a shirt pay cash. Unfortunately the shirt did not quite work out. So before I even bring it home, I want to return it now I have to wait 14 freaking days before I get a check from Joseph a Bank this is utter bull$#*!. I have spent a lot of money in the past however I have spent my last dime there
I've wasted about 2 hours placing an order on josbank
First the web site had 2 software problems preventing me from placing the order using paypal.
Then I chatted with some rep, and experienced very slow responses (sometimes waiting for 2 minutes for a simple answer). The chat person told me to call.
Then i called and after waiting for about half an hour i finally placed the order with a rep giving him my credit card info (amazingly that took another half an hour).
I then got a confirmation by email, and then a text from my credit card company that my card was charged.
After all this time spent on a $10 order i got an email that my order was cancelled.
The email also stated that my card was not charged even though it was charged.
This was the worse shopping experience. I highly recommend NEVER deal with this company - it's not worth it.
We ordered my suit 1-1/2 weeks before my Dad's funeral, got fitted, assured it would be ready for visitation. We picked up the suit- did not fit at all, way too small despite being measured. We returned the suit and were told they fitted me for a Fitted Suit and I needed a Traditional Suit6. Store manager assured us the correct suit would be in within 2weeks. We called 3x, went to Store 6 weeks later (as no one called that the suit was ordered)-- no suit. Store manager assured us that the correctly tailored Traditional suit would be FedEx'd to us within in 2 weeks. 2-1/2 months later, the suit appeared on our doorstep--- same original suit, still doesn't fit. Very poor service.
It took over 1/2 to figure out how to order. I asked an associate through chat and he quoted me incorrect information -- with attitude no less. Then, didn't apologize when I proved he was incorrect about what they carry. Hmmmm... A good re-design and A. I. interface is in order, and the online sales staff are confusing and disjointed.
How would you feel if you sent a review of a product, JAB did not publish it and you received a note back addressing you (me) as "Richard head"? Would you ever shop there again? Would you ever recommend JAB to anyone. Me neither.
I have it in writing. I gave them two stars for the product and made suggestions on what to do better. But... any criticism reveals their lack of a spine
JAB can kiss my business g'bye. Now that is customer service, eh?... you can bet you can believe the reviews of their products.
Recently purchased two suits from Jos A. Banks at a great discount price. The suits were tailed fitted and of good quality. They will of course look good on me. I will be looking to purchase a few more in the coming months. Keep those sales coming Jos A, Banks!
I've not shopped JAB before so my stock in my experience really holds no expert review. The salesperson that I dealt with in selling me two suits was pretty good. He seemed to be interested in my best interests so I took a chance and bought two suits (of which one was "free"). I felt a little pressure when in the end he had laid out for me shirts, ties, socks, etc. All of which I never asked for and I made it clear that I was in this just for the suits. So... when you go in be ready for the "extra" sales pitch for more than you want or need. Pick up on the suits were timely. However, when I picked them up, all sales people disappeared. I've purchased suits from different tailors in the past but only this once was I left on my own to accept the final product. I had to go to the mirror, check out the fit, make any site seen evaluations, and not a word from them on the appearance. That shocked me! Typically, a sales person will dote over you when you've spent nearly $1000. 00 to make sure you are satisfied and all alterations came back the right way. Time will tell how the quality of the material holds out. In the mean time, I will not be back to JAB to purchase any clothing in the future. Hope this helps others to see how important you are to their clientele.
My husband used to buy most of his clothes at Joseph Bank. The quality USED to be very good. Recently he bought two pairs of pants that the regular price was around $90. Brought them home to compare to his older pants from Joseph Bank... what total c rap! The fabric was cheap... the seams were terrible... well, I guess this is what you get when it is m are in Malaysia. And when he was in the store i was looking at plaid shirts. I would have flunked Home Ec in. High school if i had done suc h a bad job of matching the plaids. I think we would have done better shopping at Walmart. Do you even have someone working in Quality Control? Goodbye!
Has a difficult to navigate website (I don't care how many colors you sell; I only care those in MY SIZE).
Shipping takes a long time (>1 week) and a return I sent back was lost. Since they do not provide tracking numbers, it appeared that I was going to be out the price of a shirt. 1 month later, I have yet to receive a refund (the shirt was incorrectly described).
Lastly, a review I provided was returned unpublished. Why? "Did not meet our website guidelines".
I have been a loyal customer for a number of years but my last few on line orders have been handle poorly. In a couple cases the suits were not complete (buttons not attached as sleeve seams not finished). In the last two I paid for 2 business day shipping and watched them take over a week for shipping day notification (not order but the day the told me they shipped) to get here. I contacted them via their site and got no response. Asked for refund of shipping but still no word. It is a shame that the service has deteriorated so much. Used to think they were a 4-5 star company.
I've washed my "Traveler's Collection" shirts many times and even I'm amazed that they keep their color, are ready to wear right after you let them air dry. Absolutely a great shirt...!
When you walk into a store with no customers and 3 employees, you'd think at least one of the employees would stop talking to the other two and ask if they could help you. I would have bought a suite, probably 2 shirts, and a tie. Instead, I'll end up somewhere else. They must not work on commission and business must be good. Apparently, they don't need mine!
Jos. A Bank provides good to excellent quality men's clothing (at least in more expensive level suits/jackets/shirts, etc.) at very reasonable prices. Certainly, Bank's clothing is the equal of that at Nordstrom's or Macy's.
Answer: An agent answered after 4 minutes, but the experience was unsatisfactory.
Answer: Guess what. They saved a buck and squeued you. Banks loves your money, not you.
