I found this site online and could not be happier. I was out of work for almost 6 months after being laid off from a company I worked over 12 years for. My friend told me that the problem was my resume (I havent written one in over 12 yrs!) so I went online and found this site. It was so easy to write a resume because they have these examples that really helped me word things that I did at my last job. I started hearing back from jobs a few weeks later and just got hired again! The 4.95 is worth it, you just have to remember to cancel before the end of the 7 days. For only 5 bucks, I am finally employed again:-)
I completely disagree with the haters on this site! And I don't work for them or something, just a girl who needed to rebuild her resume quick!
I did the 7 day trial paid the 4.95, I did have to have my bank authorize a one time international charge, I then printed the resume and multiple cover letters I created with no problem at all. I then cancelled my acct. And have not had any extra charges no funny activity or anything. Overall an awesome easy expierience!

I thought I was purchasing the $4.95 7 day trial version of the resume template...
I experienced some formatting issues but wasn't too concerned for $4.95. I also converted the template to word for ease of modification. But I was charged 34.95 in June and then 34.95 again in July, both charges included an additional $1.04 foreign transaction fee... The deception is a significant concern, since the website comes up first on the list when googled... they also have an A rating with the BBB--not sure how they keep that rating. I will discuss with my Visa rep how to block future transactions, and may have to converse with the fraud department in order negate the additional payments. From other comments on your website, it apprears that several people have experienced the identical scenario. The BBB website indicates they have received 12 complaints in the last 6 months. Most of which are Billing related. I will contact them as well.

Too bad you can't give them a negative star rating. I am disgusted with this site! They lie! They advertise free templates. When you fill it out and go to print you have to pay a fee! Deceptive and dishonest. Do not fall for the trap unless you want to pay! I live chatted with them to tell them how disgusted I was with them. I told them that I am going to report them to the BBB. Their flippant response was great they are a member of the BBB. My response was great! They will love to review my complaint about how dishonest you are!

I am usually a pretty savvy on-line buyer, but I fell down on the job with this one. What the others have said is true, the resume builder on their site seems to work okay (not great, but okay), but when you download to your computer, the document is completely different looking and not suitable for use. STAY CLEAR OF THIS RIP-OFF!

I needed to write a resume and it had been awhile, so I did some internet research and that's when I found livecareer.com. The web site is awesome! It helps you save time while building a killer resume. Everything is provided right there for you. The 7 day trial period at a 4.95 expense is very reasonable especially in today's economy, Livecareer is wonderful and you can easily become hooked on the web site because of the professional style of resumes. It makes it easy to customize resumes and cover letters for each job. I would recommend this web site to any one and it has helped me a lot. I went to one interview and a lady sitting next to me notice how professional my resume looked and I told her about livecareer.com.

Livecareer had paved the way for me so that I could land the job that I have right now. With their free trial, I was able to create a very competent resume. It even provided me the option to download the resume in MULTIPLE FORMATS. I just love it's key features giving me the ease of use. I mean, what more can I ask for? I couldn't care less if I see negative comments about their resume builder. All I can say is that I am willing to lay my name on the line for them since they were able to deliver what they had promised. We all do have different point of views and I do respect that, it's just that I'm one happy and satisfied customer and no one could ever change that. Thank you very much!

Everything below is true. Tried to use this site to create a resume, then found out I had to pay to print. Paid because it was my only option on short notice and found that the printed resume looked NOTHING like the resume on the screen. It was 3 pages long, terrible formatting, made me look like an idiot who can't even format properly. Ultimately ended up creating another resume, with proper formatting, in Word, making this website a COMPLETE WASTE of time and money. Do NOT use this site.

I started using the trial version of this site, thinking that the resume they created for me was pretty decent looking so I paid the $5 to sign up. Little did I know, the resume they let you download looks NOTHING like the one you see on the screen (the spacing is all messed up, doesn't convert properly into Microsoft Word, the font changes and looks terrible, etc.)
Horrible site and not worth a single penny! The resume templates you can get off Word for free are 10x better looking, the career-building "quizzes" are ridden with ads for adult sites and basically useless.
Not only that, if you forget to unsubscribe (even though you EXPRESSLY only paid for a 4-day trial) they will go on to charge you $35 extra a month. This site is a ridiculous scheme to steal your money!

Well I actually signed up for a career test.
The email that I received from this site went straight into my junk folder.
Strike one. I never set up the filter for spam in this account so apparently hotmail decided that this site sends out spam.
Continuing with the process, it started asking about my education level.
Strike two. That information is on my resume so any business that gets my resume can have it. A job search site doesn't need it. I know, they need it to match you to jobs you're qualified for. Right. If I want to apply for a job as a CEO, I should be able to do that and I don't need a career site to tell me I can't.
Then comes the address, city, which it already picked out because it has my zip code, and phone number.
Strike three. Job sites that you register for on the internet, DON'T need your phone number, especially if they want to know your education level. Once again, that can be given to the prospective employer IF your resume gets that far.
And NEVER, NEVER, EVER give out your social security #. This site never asked for it so bear that in mind. This point I am making as you should never put that down on an job application, UNLESS you have interviewed and it is the only thing stopping you from getting hired. It is possible that your job app can be laying around and someone might find your information and use it. Next thing you know 27 credit cards and a mortgage have been taken out in your name.
It is also fair to note I did not take the career test. I didn't feel that livecareer.com needed my personal information for me to be able to take the test.

Answer: Our free account gives you the opportunity to try out our resume builder before deciding to purchaser ability to print, email, or download your resume and cover letters are features included in our paid subscription and not listed as a feature of the free account. However you can download a plain text version of your resume for free. To be able to use all premium futures of the service we offer customer a 14 days access for $1.95 and we indicate up front that it will auto renew after the 14 days and that it can be cancel at any time. The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. We also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings. We are very committed to providing great customer service. Answer: This is what the site advertised: For 14 day access, $14.95, and for a year $39.80. However, signing up for ANY service aloows the site to store your payment information for further billing, and getting in touch with them, much less obtaining help is nigh impossible. After two weeks they will pull $39.80 MONTHLY from your payment method (please see my review and others on Google and yelp for further verification of this).

Answer: I had to cancel my Debit Card account with Bank of America, because the Bank refused to block LiveCareer from my account. I wonder if they are in cahoots or what? I believe a class action suit may be required so we can get our funds back.
Answer: Call your bank and change your card number Call them and let them know you have contacted your bank and will contact the better business bureau of you don't get a full refund. Then contact the better bBB and file a formal complaint. You will have a refund within a week. That's how I got my money back
