Use to be great
August 15, 2022

This company has gone downhill fast! They misprinted my book (sent my cover with someone else pages) and repeatedly have had "engineer issues" with their app. The photos when uploaded using your iPhone uploaded in black and white. It takes hours on the chat line and then days for them to fix. It has happened multiple times. With so many options use another company! As I said it used to be a good company but has gone downhill and is just not worth the frustration when using photos from a phone

Lots of issues that turned what could be a 2-day tasks into a several days task. Note all of these issues have been reported to Customer Service and they confirmed there was no work-around.
1. Website freezes when one tries to upload many pictures (the site claims it can upload a whole directory of px)
2. There is no way to insert or move one page between 2 other existing pages. Unbelievable, isn't it?
3. There is no way to add 1 page (one must add 2 at a time). This is also unacceptable.
4. It is difficult to COPY a px as the Edit window would pop up over the COPY option window (extremely annoying and one has to keep on trying)
5. The Edit window is overly sensitive to any cursor movement and keeps on popping up when one moves 6. It is difficult to add a TEXT (one must keep on trying)
7. It is difficult to move a page to another from the spread window (the page scrolls uncontrollably
8. The list of issues could go on.

Have used Mixbook on/off for 7+ years now. I don't know if there's been a substantial change in ownership or due to offshoring customer service teams, but in the past 2 months alone, have had 3 orders ALL with substantial, glaring issues. The first was a photo book that, when it arrived, had a piece of someone's gum stuck to the first page, and the photos were not even printed properly. Obviously that warranted a reprint, which they offer almost immediately whenever there's an issue, but even the re-print (that was said to have "extra quality control" on it) had a ridiculous amount of errors (printing streaks on the pages, still blurry photos for perfectly clear source images, etc.)
Against my better judgement, I nonetheless placed another, larger order for a different photo book and paid expedited shipping on the order. The day before it was "set to arrive" and no tracking information had been updated, I contacted them inquiring about it, and the agent claimed while no tracking was updating, she could confirm from her end that the item was set to deliver the next day. The next day, nothing arrived and I reached out again, and that agent then claimed he saw it was set to arrive the following day instead. Two days after that and still no order arrival, I contacted them again and then an agent proceeds to tell me that there was a mix-up, and the order was still sitting at the printing location WAITING to be picked-up. So all these agents "confirming" it was en route to me somehow were "mistaken" (aka LIED). Since then, it's been nothing but a headache dealing with "customer service" who continually lie about why this occurred to begin with and why I was repeatedly told that it was enroute when they could see it was actually just sitting around at the printer's office still, having not even been picked up by the courier. They offer to reprint the order (of course) and when it arrives, I notice the binding is not even intact - the pages are literally about the fall out of the spine. When contacting them about it, am of course just offered yet another reprint and claim this is a 1-time occurrence and the "quality check team somehow missed it"... or more like, they don't even HAVE a quality check team, quite clearly.
Dealing with Customer Service throughout all this, is a total headache to say the least. There's a translation issue, and they repeatedly just lie to tell you what you want to hear rather than the truth... clearly says a lot about how many problems with orders there are, in that the second you mention something wrong they immediately want to reprint it. Probably because they know how horrible their products turn out to be and are okay with it.

TL; DR = If you want to spend tons of time crafting your products, and then have them arrive with 0% effort made on quality control and then just keep being offered reprints of equally shoddy quality, then Mixbook is the company for you to use! If not, better off using an actually legitimate company who cares about the quality of the products they produce for longtime customers.

They delivered!
May 28, 2022

I was crunched for time and by mistake did not send priority. They rushed my 11 books needed for a memorial service. The books came out great and I was relieved in the quick service. They let you know if a photo is blurry too. I will definitely use them again.

I don't know what is currently going on with Mixbook, but my recent order has been a complete and utter disaster. I placed an order on Thursday, April 28th and paid for next day delivery. The projected delivery date was Thursday, May 5th and supposedly the book was printed and shipped on the evening of Tuesday, May 3rd. When the UPS tracking details wouldn't update beyond "Label Created" on Wednesday, I reached out to Mixbook and was reassured that UPS had the package and given the volume of orders they weren't scanning all packages before shipping. I took the update at face value and assumed I would receive the package that day or the following (since it was Next Day Air). Come Thursday, there is still no sign of the package and when I speak with Mixbook I'm told by one person that the package hasn't shipped and then by another person that it is in transit. It doesn't arrive on Thursday or by Friday afternoon. I speak to Mixbook again on Friday and suggest they just reprint the book (rushing the printing to the extent they can) and send it Next Day Air again. I'm told that will be no problem and because they print on the weekend that I should receive the book on Monday or Tuesday. Now it's Monday and I was told that the book is finished, but they can't confirm when it will ship and they have no way of contacting their printers outside of emailing them to ask for a status update. I've checked in 3-4 times today and am now told that the book is "still in process" and they have no way of getting a more detailed update or moving the "process" along. They also still claim that the 1st book was indeed shipped, but we're now almost a week later here and still no sign of that book either. I'm left speechless that I may still not receive my order over a week after the original projected delivery date that was communicated. I spent many hours putting this book together as a gift for a teacher and the class has already pushed back the party where we planned to present the book by a week to allow (what we thought was) ample time for Mixbook to correct their mistake. I'm incredibly disappointed by the whole handling of this situation and would not recommend anyone use their services if they are working up against any type of deadline.

But mixbook is not nice. Customer service starts with friendly emails but thats it. The quality is not good. I ordered 4 books. Not one of them is correct. And one even has not the stated size. The only thing I liked is that you can share your book online. Thats nice.

Better than expected!
February 4, 2022

I just received my first Mixbook photo album. I finally got around to putting together my wedding album (almost 5 years later). I came across Mixbook while browsing different options for a photo album service that wasn't going to break the bank. I am so glad I took a leap of faith and ordered through Mixbook. The reviews are very mixed... I was nervous. The book is high quality and feels expensive (not as expensive as other websites I looked at). I am super thrilled and happy with my wedding album. The shipping was quick! Thank you Mixbook! I will definitely be ordering more photo books from this company.

No customer service
February 1, 2022

I have ordered two books from Mixbook. The latest book was completed and delivered in January 2022.

Pros:
Easy to use
Lots of stickers and background to add to your project
The hardbound laminated cover is BEAUTIFUL
Cons:
If you're not 100% satisfied email BEHAPPY.COM That is a bunch of crap. I had several pages that didn't print properly. They look like stripes across the page and photos... perhaps like the ink was low. I emailed customer service with photos and also emailed BEHAPPY.COM and after 3 weeks I have had zero communication from Mixbook. So they really dont' want me to be happy. They want me to go away. My project was 207 pages so I spent a lot of money on this book.
I do want to BE HAPPY but so far Mixbook is all talk and no action.

Misleading website delivery times for holiday
December 23, 2021

Switched from Shutterfly to Mixbook because of the reviews. Also, they had a counter that said when the book needed to be submitted in order to get it in time for the holidays. I was willing to pay rush delivery or whatever it took to get delivery on time -- and finished before their timer expired. I had almost 50 people contribute to the book so a lot of the pressure was on me to deliver. I made it with 15 minutes to spare and immediately got a note saying that the book would arrive 12/28. I literally pushed EVERYTHING aside to make THEIR deadline only to miss Christmas. I have never missed a holiday with Shutterfly. I've contacted customer service 2 times. IF I have a Christmas miracle I will be sure to come back and update my review. But for now, I am so frustrated with Mixbook and will be giving my business back to Shutterfly in the future. So -- beware of false deadlines that get the business and then don't deliver. :(

Although the quality of photo printing is excellent, creating a book with MIXBOOK is a waste of your time and effort. The bindings come already torn apart, or self destruct on the first browsing through the book.
I am completely dissatisfied, having spent months creating the book and hundreds of dollars to have it printed, only to have it arrive with torn binding and pages falling out.
Mixbook provided a second copy at no charge, but the result is still untenable.
This is so disappointing, having wasted half a year and all that money on Mixbook, when I will now need to start from scratch with another company.
I recommend NOT trying Mixbook.

Wonderful company
December 22, 2020

I don't often write reviews, but this company was so good at responding to a missing order I feel I must. I sent an e-mail to the company that we have not received our photobooks after the date that were to arrived has passed by quite a few days. I could see in the tracking info that they had shipped and the hold up was with the postal service. As soon as I let them know they quickly responded and I received my books in short order. The books were very well done and I am very happy. Giving this company a 5 out of 5 star review.

Great experience
September 4, 2020

This is my third book from mixbook and they did not disappoint. I needed a book in a hurry and didn't have time for trying other sites to see if they had overcome their issues (they all have something). While they can improve the features on the layouts still, they get an extra star for meeting my timeline with a great quality book.

Overall this program is not easy to use, or at least not as easy as Snapfish and Shutterfly, which I've also published with. I left my review with Mixbook after completing my husband's family book so I won't go into it here but will tell you that the book cover feels like rubber and the binding itself is cheap. I spent several hundreds of dollars and wish I had returned to one of the photo books I've used before!

Story Books
December 1, 2019

Mixbook's format allows me to create, not just photo albums, but storybooks too. What a nice way to combine photos and stories.
The finished book is beautifully printed. I always buy a hard-covered book.
