The only place that carries every product I need for a one stop shop for my pets.
Great shopping Nice staff hard to find stores but once found awesome products my cat is happy
Great customer service... have done quite a bit of business with them... we had a small kitten and bought the blue buffalo kitten food for her (do not recommend this brand; not just the food but the litter too). This food wouldn't soften when you would put liquid with it. That kitten died due to some neurological issue. Then we adopted one from the shelter and she ate a little bit of it and 6 to 7 hours later she threw it up and it was in the same form as when she ate it and still hard as a rock. We return the food and they worked with us and wanted to know if we needed anything to let them know.
Shopped online at petsmart.com this Thanksgiving, placed an order online and opted for in store pickup. When I arrived at the store to pick up the merchandise, the store manager told me they were out of stock and cannot honor the order. I went back home, and placed another order online, and selected a different store that has the item in inventory. When I got in the store, same story, out of stock. It was a total waste of time ordering on their website. You can never be sure if you will be able to get the product you ordered. Called their customer service, all you could get is we are sorry, but there are nothing we can do about the order. I asked that since some of their other stores have the product in stock, why I can't go to the other store to pick it up. She said no, once you choose the store, you can only pick it up at that store. To select a different store, you have to place a new order. Both their website and customer server really suck. Avoid them at all costs. Just not worth the time and efforts.
Great experience, I needed something that I was having a hard time finding, and the sales associate went out of his way to track it down.
I took my Dog twice to the petsmart hotel in Reston, VA. His name is Tigger and he's a blue Cane Corso (almost 8 month old). It feels like I took him to the shelter. I requested play time for my dog and they were charging me for it and both times he wasn't given the play times and I was refunded. (I don't want the Damn refund, I bought the play time so my dog wont be locked in the room all day) Both times I request grooming that wasn't done as well. And I recommend not showering your pet before taking them there because every time I pick up my pet he smells horrible. I am NEVER taking my pet to petsmart again. I can't wait for he's banfield coverage plan to be over so I never have to deal with petsmart again.
I posted a review of an item I ordered. Immediately afterwards a page popped up asking if I would like to review two more items. I have never purchased either of the items I was asked to review. This makes me wonder how legitimate the reviews on the website are.
I like to look on the PetSmart website for dog supplies and then shop at the store that's close to home. I've ordered online a few times and been very happy with the services. My dog gets groomed at PetSmart. The local stores support charities in their communities so that adds more of a connection to where you live, even though they are a large corporation.
I ordered a nap mat for my dog in blue, but received pink. The first time this happened they credited me the amount I paid and sent me a replacement $10 gift card, since I had used a gift card to pay for part of it. I reordered it and got sent the wrong color AGAIN. This time I was given 2 options via e-mail, 1: get a refund and order it again with 15% off and no shipping, or 2: they keep my $ and send me the right item (hopefully). At this point I felt I shouldn't pay anything so I called them. Their solution: They credit me $9.11 and I send the wrong one back free of charge, but not really free of charge because they kept my $10 gift card and the cost of shipping.
I AM NEVER ORDERING FROM PETSMART.COM EVER AGAIN!
Bought from their free shipping sale, but it was only good for $100 max and it was hidden in their small print.
Failed to describe the weight of the dog food I bought, by looking at the price I thought it was 30lbs but it was actually 15lbs.
Too many tricks. Too many hidden restriction.
I tend not to use the website, though it is well-organized and easy to use, as much as just going to one of their nearby stores because 1) I don't feel like paying shipping and 2) you can't buy pets online, only supplies.
I am a rat owner and have had 6 in my life. 4 of them I bought at Animart and they never had problems, 2 of them I bought from Petsmart, and both times within 48 hours of bringing them home I could tell they had respiratory infections (which progress quickly in rats and can quickly become life-threatening) at the time of sale. So I ended up having to bring them back for week-long treatments at their vet.
The only reason I'm not giving a terrible review is that the rats they sold me are very sweet, and aside from the gas money and time inconvenience, the treatment for their respiratory infections was free. However, selling an infected animal once can be coincidence... but twice starts looking like more of a pattern to me.
The Pets Perks card is cool though. I probably won't buy animals other than fish there again, but because of pets perks I do keep coming back for supplies.
I really like the web site, and the store I went to was very big and very clean and well organized. But I have to point out the faults for the website that represents the retail stores. If you go to look at the fish, you will see that they have each group of fish / aquatic life (that they sell) that are able to be kept as tank mates. Click any of them you want, but mine is Tropical. So now look at all the beautiful fish they have and you'll see that not a single one of them is available online. They ALL say "in store only."
Now call your local store and ask if they have the fish that are advertised on the website. Most of them will be there but with my experience I'm willing to bet that not all of them will be. And, read the fine print. The stores, do NOT have to honor the advertised price. The way they get around the false advertising law (in MY opinion!) is that the prices advertised online are for the "products" available online. The loop hole is that even though they don't actually sell the fish online, they make it look like they do.
That aside, now go to your local store and try to purchase the fish you saw online. I've been to multiple stores and only one of them would honor the online advertised price. Not only did she say they would honor those prices, but they even gave me a rain check on the Pleco I came in for. BUT, even though I was told they DO sell the Kuhli I wanted, and showed me the tank they are in (when in stock) the other manager said they didn't sell out of those and in fact never did sell those in the first place, and refused to give me a rain check for that fish. My guess is because the sale price was so much lower than their full retail price. Don't know that for a FACT but it's my assumption.
So for those reasons I give PetSmart a 3 / 5 rating.
This is a fortune 500 company. They offer a wide variety of products and services across the nation. But they don't know anything about the products they sell or the foods they sell. The vets in their banfield offices will only tell you that your pet should be on a perscription food that is over-priced and is lower quality that most other foods you can find (outside Petsmart) that work better and are higher quality ingredients for a cheaper price. Their hotels have one small room that all the dogs run around in. The floors aren't scrubbed, and are instead only hosed off. The rest of the time, they dogs are in crates in the back. The grooming salon is about the only great aspect of the whole store.
I had a little Yorkie for 13 years. Tippy Toe was his name, but I called him pie, because he was so smart. Like mathematical pi. My Yorkie was so spoiled that he knew when I was supposed to spend time with him. After working all week he knew when I started cleaning that this was his time. If I left the house on the weekends to go shopping he would tear up my laundry basket. He was trying to tell me that it was bath and brush time. Since I wanted my dog to have the very best I shopped at Pet Smart. They have anything a pet could need. I use to buy dog lollipops. They where rawhide sticks with an imitation type peanut butter that he loved. At Christmas my dog had a stocking that I would fill with all kinds of goodies. I bought his Iams Purina dogs food there in bulk bags for a very reasonable price. I also purchase shampoos, grooming supplies and his little collar there. My dog passed away 2 years ago But I still tell all of my friends about this store. They even had candies for dogs. They where a sort imitation vanilla and chocolate drop that he loved so much. I bought him the cutest little sweater there. It was red with little black colored bones all over it. My tippy was like a little person I spoiled him with all that a dog could ever dream of having. I found a really cool bed there that said I am the king, all over it. Tippy would always sleep upside down on his back. I think he was so comfortable in his little bed that he actually snored so load he would keep me up at night. Pets Smart offers savings on all kinds of things for your pets. They are a really cool store. If there is one near you they even let you bring your dog in and give away free treats to your pet as you leave the store. I hope this helps pet lovers everywhere. http://www.petsmart.com
This is such a great store, I also like how you can take your pet there to get groomed and what not.
Great website to find reasonably priced pet supplies. Only downside is that you can't schedule grooming on the site, you have to call.
Answer: Way over-priced in store and on-line. Their treats program on-line is a joke.
Answer: I have no knowledge concerning your question. At our Petsmart in Sacramento they sell animal products; it's a store; not a place where dogs go to play. Dogs are allowed inside the store to 'shop' with their person, but the dogs must be on a leash, contained, etc.
