Their website had a glitch that caused my credit card to be charged twice for two separate bookings. I immediately contacted them to notify them of the discrepancy and they refused to cancel the second erroneous booking. I then attempted to cancel the first booking and they refused to refund my money for that in spite of "free cancellations" being advertised. They will steal you money. Do not do business with them.
As other reviews have indicated, it is likely that Prestigia is having liquidity issues and trying to use customer funds to help bridge their cash needs through the Covid crisis. I was careful to make a refundable booking in early April (well after the crisis had unfolded) for a stay in July. However, after coming across reviews like the ones on this site, I became nervous and canceled the booking within 8 hours of my booking. As I feared, Prestigia refused a refund, offering a credit that I am unlikely to ever use. I tried to reason with their customer service and they refused to honor their terms, and invoked "Force Majeure" -- I am not a lawyer but 1. Doubt you can do that to deny someone their rightful funds and 2. If they had done so, they should have updated their terms on their website. My suspicion is they are offering bargain prices just to get a hold of customer funds -- these are likely "bait and switch" prices that they will never honor.
To anyone who has been affected, I suggest you:
1. Initiate a chargeback with your credit card issuer
2. Write to whichever partner led you to Prestigia (eg Google, Tripadvisor, etc) and explain to them what happened and ask them to remove Prestigia as a partner
3. File a complaint with the UK Citizens' Advice Bureau (google UK business complaint)
4. File a complaint with the the local Trading Standards system (google UK trading standards system)
We've been scammed, along with MANY OTHERS, (look at Trustpilot reviews), you don't get your money back if you need to cancel, regardless of Covid19 or anything else.
I wouldn't want anyone else to fail to their ridiculous T&Cs, a tin pot company who frankly deserve to fail & leave the industry to those who have morals & good customer care.
Booked a room for my son's school trip. Decided not to send him to the states so cancelled the room as per the cancellation policy. Got confirmation that the cancellation was approved and my credit card would get 100% refund. One month later, Prestigia emailed and said they weren't honoring their policy and were providing me a credit. Stated that the were using the Force Majeure clause, even though that did not come into affect until after I had cancelled the room.
Called hotel and confirmed that prestigia got a full refund on all hotel rooms, so they are not out any money, but have decided to keep mine.
Fraudulent in my opinion. Don't book through this site... they are taking advantage of this pandemic to line their own pockets.
If I was rating Prestigia on ease of booking and price, I would probably rate them 4 or even 5 star. However, behind this facade lies a world of trouble. I'm posting this review, so that the unwary do not get caught like so many of us. PLEASE look at their Trustpilot reviews and focus on ones who have gone beyond just making a booking. There are years worth of complaints ranging from different charges to ones displayed on website to failure to refund etc.
I didn't do my research properly and booked a few nights in Las Vegas with them. Due to the Coronavirus I cancelled my booking well in advance, secure in the knowledge that I had the guarantee of a 100% refundable rate. Apparently that doesn't mean cash though! Instead I've been offered a voucher for future use?!
I've worked in hospitality for 15 years and NEVER known a refundable booking to refer to a credit note and not cash. They are trying to hide behind the current crisis, but if anything the hotels are being more flexible and not less (kudos to Marriott for refunding my non refundable booking - in cash!). Please don't be fooled by the illusion of saving a little, use a proper 3rd party like Booking.com / Expedia etc or book direct otherwise expect to find yourself disappointed like many more of us!
I am trying to get over $800 due to a cancellation of my son's wedding because of Covid-19. They - Prestigia are refusing to return my money. The original reservation said I could cancel up to 24 hours before without penalties. I need my money back!
I had a reservation with them and due to COVID19 everything shut down. I canceled immediately followed their rules and was over a month before my visit. They said i would get a full refund. I got an email a few day before our scheduled date to arrived saying my stay was canceled and I would be give a credit for a future stay good for a year from now. That was unacceptable. Not only did it go against what it said on their cancel page but this is at a time when people are out of work and some are even fighting for their life. They really feel they have the right to keep people's money when the world is at it's worse? So I wrote them a very nasty letter... Called my American Express company and told them to remove this from my card and I refuse to pay them dime. American Express removed the charges and i will not ever see therm again. I know a lot of people dont like Amex but for things like this they are great for. I will never use them again and i would tell others the money you may save on a hotel room to work with people like these is not worth it. I would rather pay more and work with people who actually care about their customers.
DO NEVER USE PRESTIGIA.COM! Do yourself a favor! No matter that Las Vegas is shut down due to COVID 19, and my reservation says FREE CANCELLATION, I received an e-mail from them informing me that the money I have paid ($180.00) for reservation will be considered STATEMENT CREDIT TOWARD FUTURE RESERVATION! And the best is last... VALID until MARCH 31 2020... BUT TODAY is APRIL 8 2020! All attempts to reach out this crooks were not successful. Keep in mind that is not US business. It's registered in Gibraltar. So Las Vegas hotel refunded my money to PRESTIGIA.COM, but they don't want to refund me! Please use something like Booking.com, Expedia.com Few dollars cheaper could cost you a lot!
This is hands down the WORST customer service I have ever, ever received. They have essentially stolen nearly $3,000 from us. We were scheduled to travel from NYC to Cancun on March 21,2020 but had to cancel when the US-Mexico border closed and NYC was on lockdown due to COVID-19. We are in the epicenter of the global pandemic and Prestigia prioritizes profits over people. No other travel company is doing this. They told me they reached out to Hotel Xcaret and that the hotel wouldn't honor a cancellation/modification to the reservation. Later I found out from Hotel Xcaret that Prestigia never reached out to them! When I called them out on this, they said "After receiving your request, we had to communicate further with our partner, since your booking was made through a third party. Please bear in mind that we are not allowed to say this, since you booked with Prestigia.com. However, we never confirmed that we have reached out to the hotel, as we continueously kept following up with our partner instead." So... really they're booking through a 4th party? What kind of fraud is this? If you google reviews for this company you'll see many, many instances of them refusing refunds in the midst of covid-19 for FREE CANCELLATION reservations.
I generally hate having to dispute cc transactions because I don't like how it hurts small businesses, but these people shouldn't be allowed to stay in business. They underestimate how long I will spend making sure people know about this; after all, I'm 3 weeks into mandatory quarantine.

We made a reservation with FREE CANCELLATION up until the week prior to the trip. When issues started to arise with COVID-19, and since borders were closed we were forced to cancel the booking. Despite the free cancellation, no money was refunded. When we reached out to ask the estimated time for a refund, we were told no refund would be rewarded and we could have a partial credit instead. There is no mention of a credit in place of a refund anywhere, and the email confirming our cancellation writes out how much of a refund/charge there will be if not cancelled by specific dates. It is absolutely ridiculous that the email acknowledges that we met the deadline for free cancellation, and they are still refusing to honor it. In a situation like this where the health and safety of everyone in the world should be a top priority, we should not be penalized for making a smart decision PRIOR to the deadline. It's unfortunate that a company would chose to not honor their own policies. My advice is do not book with them, as they do not care about their customers, just their own greed.
I booked a hotel room through Prestigia, with full and free cancellation terms. However, when using my cancellation right Prestigia refuses to repay, thus stealing my money. The hotel has not received any money and have confirmed that they respect the free cancellation policy.

We booked a couple of hotel rooms thru them for Punta Cana from 4/4-4/10. Obviously that trip will not be happening. Even if we still wanted to go, we couldn't. The flights were cancelled and the hotel closed due to Covid19. Their site said 100% cancellable til 4/1. I cancelled on 3/25 and they refuse to give my money back. They want to offer us a credit only. Credit? What am I going to do with that in these times? Who has any idea when we will be able to travel again?!

I'm unable to get a refund after cancelling my hotel reservation. When I made the reservation, the terms were "Free cancellation" before the deadline. What is "Free cancellation" supposed to mean if I can't get my money back?! They offered credit on Prestigia.com for a future reservation, but this was never mentioned when I made the booking - I would have booked somewhere else if I had known that I cannot get my money back. It's that simple.
I'm very unhappy and angry with Prestigia. Please do not use them - book somewhere else, or directly with the hotel! A friend who booked directly with the same hotel got a full refund.
I made a hotel booking which with free cancellation 2 weeks prior to arrival. Due to the impact of Corona virus I cancelled my booking within terms and Prestigia will not refund the amount paid, more than $1,000. What are they doing holding onto all these funds?
I booked a 9 night hotel reservation with them for mid April 2020. The corona pandemic caused border closures and flight/country cancellations and hotel shutdowns. My hotel gave a full refund on ALL reservations including 3rd party travel sites like Prestigia.com BUT Prestigia REFUSED to reimburse my account. In spite of a worldwide pandemic they had no interest, no empathy and no compassion. Worst travel site I have dealt with ever. When we all start travelling again after this crisis we will remember companies like Prestigia.com. I hope they go bankrupt. Karma will prevail.
They are a big thief, making lies about the prices shown online then when you try to checkout, you pay more than you saw online. Compare to booking. Com. Better book them and avoid this thief company and the customer service are so bad,. Poor. English communication skills.
I booked with them hotel this month and due to Covid19, the hotel closed down, many emails send they take so long to response, total ignorance to queries, last response was one week before reservation after I interfered I called the hotel myself. And then after hotel confirm closure they refuse to return the deposit and telling me the hotel will waive the rest of the cost. They are not to be trusted and would never recommend them
This website is running a scam. They charged my card, did not transfer the funds to the hotel and then denied any responsibility.
Answer: I doubt it. I didn't get a refund when I cancelled way before the deadline for free cancellation. I have heard from no one, no one answers the phone. I was on hold for an hour and thirty minutes as " the next one in line" I gave up. Don't waste your time, energy or money on this reservation site.
