This is my last month of being a member. I am just fed up with the lack of ANY items on my list being available, the poor quality of the items that are available, & the price keeps going up - why? NOTHING has improved. Month after month NOTHING I want to rent is available in my size, I add something to my cart and before I can find another item to add the first item is removed. I get a shipment that I can only wear one of the four items in, yet they make me use the entire swap. Tired of getting ripped off month after month. I'm out.
They charged me for a higher membership than I chose and then refused to refund me for it. Didn't even speak to me about it just said nothing can be done
I got a membership and enjoyed it for 6 plus months but now the Dallas wear-house uses a third party delivery company called return mates. I have not received items in 2 months now. They keep "re-opening" spots for me to make another order but never receive it. I gave them 7 weeks and 4 orders to try to resolve the problem but they can not figure out shipping. Do not recommend.
I've used rtr maybe 10 times now, and I always get what I need when I need it. Recently I couldn't get a dress because the last customer returned it in bad condition. They reached out to let me know and sent me SEVERAL replacements the next day with no price difference. Amazing customer service!
I have requested many times that account be canceled. It's been 5 months and 4 request and they still won't cancel.
I have had it with RTR. Prices have increased as items have become harder to get that you actually like. The final straw was when I spent 1 hour finding available items to get to me for the weekend and they freaking returned it before I even got a chance to receive them, Customer service said they would overnight me a bag and LIED. I basically paid for an entire week of clothes I couldnt use for their purpose and customer service said "sorry we screwed up but nothing we can do about it". I use to recommend this place during covid but clearly they cant handle their business correctly anymore. If anything, just use them for formal dresses and avoid the subscription.
This company just gets worse and worse. I had an unlimited subscription and since they did away with that it's been one issue after another. They've hiked the prices several times and I was just notified my subscription would be going up over $20 per month AGAIN. The shipping is hit or miss, sometimes I get my order in a day, other times it's 4-5. If they don't receive my returns within one business day they put my whole account on hold so I can't order or return anything else. Their customer service is honestly the rudest I've ever experienced. I've received a few items that smell like body odor and several are clearly over worn, pilling or stiff feeling. Every single hanger I get for pants is broken I can't return things at West Elm anymore, which was super convenient. I really want to cancel but haven't been able to find a comparable subscription service yet.
I signed up for the monthly 4 piece rental after browsing and seeing items that were "available" in my size. After signing up and paying, these items were suddenly no longer available. I asked for a refund since I didn't want to rent anything and was told no. I am trying to find things to add to my rental just to use the month I paid for and there are literally ZERO. ZERO! Options for me in tops or jackets. This is ridiculous. I feel scammed.
I signed up for the monthly service, only to find that they had nothing in stock in my size. I needed clothing for an event, but literally no dresses that I liked were in stock. Also, the styles have not been updated in over a year since I had rented a few items as a one time event a while back. I wrote to cancel my membership a few days after spending hours on the site hunting for some items to no avail. I wanted to be refunded the $160 I had paid since it had only been a few days and I hadn't rented anything. They told me they could not refund me after repeated attempts because it was their "policy" So basically they stole $160 from me since I can't find anything in my size... great policy. Buyer beware.
I had the top tier subscription, about 6-10 dresses a month, the dress selection for my personal preference did not work. Definitely not work the monthly fee (mine was $225/month) for these brands. Their stock is on a downward spiral because of this. You will find only positive reviews because of their incentives for positive feedback. Customer service is terrible. Wish I had just invested in a few good dresses instead of throwing away money on Ross/Marshalls/TJMax type dresses.
This site became such a time consumption in trying to find items available in my size, that I ended up cancelling after 1 month and never even accepted a shipment t. Further, the discount code provided for the first month of membership was never applied and I was charged the full amount. Billing was unwilling neither refund or at least correct the charge. I'm now disputing with my credit card. Terrible customer service and availability. Save your time and money!
This is my first time using RTR and I have nothing but bad things to say about my experience. The selection of sizes on the website is awful, I received items that arrived damaged and clearly did not go through the proper cleaning inspection, the customer service is the WORST customer service I have ever experienced. I have had to follow up multiple times to get a response from someone. I would think after they messed up two of my orders, they would want to make things right? All they could offer me was an extra spot. I am extremely disappointed in RTR and do not recommend this to ANYONE. They really need to improve their customer service department.
I have had a membership for a year. And I'm really really disappointed with the service. I signed up during Covid and the selection was TERRIBLE! They told me the options would be improving soon… they didn't. It got worse. NOTHING on here is "designer" or from a "runway." It's mostly Macy's quality brands and private label. Since they are low quality items, the assortment gets worn out very very quickly. If someone before you puts it in a washing machine, it will be shrunk and they will send it to you. Every single shipment I get, at least one item looks like it's was from The Goodwill. All their knits are extremely pilled. Their "rigorous" screening of their clothes is a lie.
Anytime that a new and actually cute item come out, don't expect to be able to rent them. They are all sent influencers. The things they style with items in photos with the model are usually not in their assortment.
It is spring again and all the same merchandise from last spring are still the only options. These items should have been removed from the website when last spring ended.
This service is so disappointing. It would be so great if it was higher end stuff. The probably is this brand is trying to be everything to everyone and it's failing on all counts. There is definitely a white space for a high end monthly renting service!
After pausing my account for 2 months, I continued to be charge $150 per month. When I contacted customer service for a refund on these charges, they claimed that they did not have record of my account being paused. When I provide emails from Rent the Runway confirming the paused account for the months in questions, they refused to refund the money because it had been longer than 24 hours. What a scam! Do not become a member!
If I were you save our money. Signed up for membership. Nothing fit, sizes were not even close. They couldn't replace the size as it wasn't in stock so new items were ordered, same issue. 8 items later not one thing fitting after even changing the size and I can't exchange until I pay $100.00 again. So for $100.00 I got to try on 8 items that didn't fit and they refuse to do anything about it. Save your money this company has the worst customer service I have ever encountered.
Rent the Runway charged my card $1,834.32 for a "late fee" in an absolutely unethical business practice. I have returned the clothing to them in perfect condition and now I am out almost $2000 due to their lack of transparency, responsiveness, and unwillingness to treat people like human beings. I am telling every single person I know to cancel their RTR membership because I do not want to see this terrible thing happen to good people.
Rent the Runway, how can you justify taking $2000 from an unsuspecting customer? STOP operating this way.
I am disputing through my credit company and am pursuing legal action.
Cancel RTR!
I paid for a service i couldn't consume. Rent the runway has very limited inventory and everything else most people wouldn't wear for free. I couldn't find anything worth trying on my first month of membership. I tried to get a refund, but run the runway wouldn't issue a refund for a service they couldn't deliver on.
Too difficult to cancel and you will be overcharged - In the end, you are better off with other services. And during the holidays, it's extremely hard to find dresses in average sizes.
RTR is deceptive, predatory, and unreasonable. ZERO stars.
I tried RTR for two months and ended up paying over $1500 in charges and fees because the merchandise was lost in transit for 3 weeks. During this time, they provided false information that led me to believe all my items were successfully received. I then called them almost daily for several weeks and they resolved nothing. I asked them to reverse the charges and for a refund MULTIPLE times on email to their billing department and via phone to customer service. In the end, they did not issue me a refund, only a credit, so that they didn't have to repay me. More evidence of their unethical, shady business practices.
Their business model is set up to purposely screw over the customer. I called at least a dozen times to customer service and they did nothing but pay me lip service. They even provided false information, stating that all my items were received, when in fact they had not. You see, customer service has no way of seeing into billing or transferring a customer to billing - or that is what they say. They also do not have a way of looking at prior call notes, the last time I called, I mentioned I'd called at least a dozen times, but the rep was confused by the notes. So be very careful, record each call and document everything in email to the billing department. Read each email from billing closely because it is not just an automated email bot, which it appears to be. Billing is only reachable via email and they hold all the power. Billing is ruthless and they don't give a shi* about their customers.
It is only a matter of time before a lawsuit is filed. Where do we sign up?!?!?
They obviously are scammers. They pretend they got your order partially and start charging you extra starting with the first order. When i fell into the same scam trap, I kept thinking why they are not in trouble and I read the law suit with Fashion Pass. Made me realize what a horrible decision it was subscribing to Rent the Runway. Do your own research.
Answer: I am going through this now. You would think that they would stop using UPS with customers having the same issue. It is clear that UPS is not scanning the items when they get them.
Answer: I signed up for unlimited membership on a Saturday made my selections - the website showed it'll be delivered by Tuesday 8 PM - didn't get here for almost a week! What's the point of getting unlimited when they purposely hold items and don't notify the customers when the items are not up to par or available the when you're told it will be. Membership is not worth it - I called customer service - on Wednesday to ensure my dresses got here Thursday - she assured me they will get there --- NOPE! LIES! I had to return the dresses same day it was delivered because they came too late!
Answer: You are only charged the rental price when you click submit. They only charge you if you don't return the dress.
Answer: When I tried to get something overnighted, it wasn't even an option for me. I expect it highly depends on your location. I believe the price listed was about $30
