We monitor reviews for authenticity
After spending a ridiculous amount of time answering questions, you'll discover that you have to pay to get any idea of what the available population is like. After paying, you discover that the population is minuscule and that your payment for 3 months is nonrefundable regardless.
No customer service and most of the participants are not real. My first experience was with a Frederick Schneiderlin. He is a filthy low life and is not real. Trust your guts, widows and widowers. My first experience as a Silver Single will be burned in my mind forever and not in a good way. I am real and honest and might better have thrown a bottle in the ocean with my money and address.
Frustrating to be unable to get customer service. I tried to fax a question - rang and rang - finally, no answer. I am having NO success with this service - my profile is quite good (I have two grown children who helped me represent my best and most appealing parts), and my pictures are good. Also, I tried to upload a photo here, and it froze. Guess I will drop out. I wish I had read reviews first :(
I joined this site drawn by the thought it attracted mature' seniors. Sadly the site is no different than any of the others online. Enter at your own risk. I joined with an open mind and thus far after several months of membership am pessimistic and very annoyed. One guy tried to lure me off-site by saying his friend saw my profile but was not a member (was visiting the actual member when he saw my photo) and the friend lived near my city, providing the friend's' email address and invited me to write to him.' I complained to customer service. Just recently, some guy presenting himself as both a "M. D. and Ph. D", the M. D from Harvard, emailed at the site saying we were "100% compatible" (it was 80%). When I asked about the 100% he actually pulled some of my "likes" directly from my profile so as to mirror my interests. But the best part was his expecting women to come to him "for a weekend meet and greet" (aka encounter) and that "this arrangement has worked out quite well for him." He provided both an email and a phone number telling me to "call him." He also instructed me to look up a word in a "Urban Dictionary" which turned out to be quite creepy. He is still actively on the site as of this writing despite numerous complaints.
I do not recommend this site as the only endearing thing about it is that it calls itself Silver Singles'.
I joined as a Male seeking Females (and there were no mistakes in my typing or preferred gender). The matches that the site gave me were men. IF the site can't get that correct, why would I trust them with anything else! Deleted Account in less than 12 hours.
When you visit online dating sites You want to see the potential partners or Read their Bio before you invest. This crappy site doesn't allow you to even nibble. Bad site, do not waste your money. I have spent $200 on other sites, what a waste of time. Too Expensive
They dont talk to you ever they disappear and when you dont give them the info they want they disappear. Some of them are nasty
Joined site as genuine client. Within 3months have had large number of genuine chaps try to rip me off. Question 1. Are you financially stable.? Q2 do you have investments, oh & during those 60 seconds fall madly in love with you, All the while claiming to be filthy rich, ignoring your hints that you do not want their money. Q3 can you lend me couple of thousand, you know, just until next week to get gold moved blah blah blah. Ladies &Gents, DO NOT REPLY, the site itself seems to be set up to encourage dishonesty. SAVE YOUR MONEY, DONT GO THERE
STAY OFF HERE. MOST OF THE PROFILES ARE FAKE.
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL
DO NOT BOTHER, IT'S JUST AS BAD AS MATCH.COM AND ALL THE OTHER WEB SITES TRYING TO TAKE YOUR MONEY. PLUS, THE REAL PEOPLE ARE SUCH PHONIES, IT'S NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.
I have tried several dating sites, so I'm familiar with how they should work. SilverSingles is by far the worst. I canceled my account after only 2 days. Why? I had almost NO control over anything. In order to set up an account, I had to wade through a series of personality test questions. Then I discovered that the results were very inaccurate (e.g. Said I was "extremely laid back" and frequently very late... NOT. I am VERY OC and especially punctual!). Then when I tried to post a full-body pic of me, my pic was cropped into a head shot. When I tried to narrow my matches by specifying requirements (distance, age, etc.), it kept overriding my settings. Every time I tried to edit/revise my profile or change my picture, it had to go through a "review" which delayed my updates for several hours. I kept getting duplicate emails notifying me of old messages that I'd already read and responded to. The only messages I received (3 in all) were "smiles" (flirts) from shabby looking characters who frankly scared me (one guy wore his under shirt and took the pic in his bathroom mirror). I am a working professional with a graduate degree. Is this the best you can do? When I tried to contact customer service, it took them 2 days to respond! I canceled my subscription and will NOT go back!
They have auto email responses. Not a real person to help answer your questions. They don't check very thouroughly because someone hacked my info and set up shop on this website.
I joined this website several years ago, hoping to meet more people in their 50s and up. What they don't tell you is that this site is owned or partnered with match.com. So although you post your profile here, you may get "matched" to men who are in their 30s. Even if you put down your desired age range as "50-60". Aggghhh! I don't want to date men who are young enough to be my sons.
BTW--- did you know that some men lie when they post a photo? I met someone who was 50 lbs. heavier than in his photo, and had been that way for years. I am not knocking his weight. I used to be VERY heavy. But tell the truth, for the love of God. I'm going to find out when I meet you, anyway.
Answer: You do not want to sign up to this site for even a minute. They are scammers through and through. They will have no matches for you but will clear your bank account. Please don't join.
Answer: File disputes with your CC company and/or PayPal I am fighting for a refund also report them to anyone that matters we have to get the word out
Answer: YOU BEEN SCAMMED! I PAID ABOUT THE SAME, BUT I WAS ABLE TO SIGN ON AND USE IT. BELIEVE ME, YOU'RE BETTER OFF AS IT'S FULL OF SCAMMERS, MEN POSING AS WOMEN AND WOMEN POSING AS MEN TO GET YOUR $$$. I HAVE 457 "MATCHES" ACCORDING TO THEM. 457? BS
