Unprofessional rude nasty nasty reps shame on them there boss needs to no about there conduct as well as behavior and the reps got a attitude and didn't come back to the phone after I waited a very long time he over talked me and stated and you are going to go over again well he'll I called and told them and they were so so ugle shame can't even call to talk can't believe they deal with the public I didn't call to ask for a hearing just wanted clarity I got a letter 6/12/23 the others were months before you don't no how to calculate while you work in there
I personally think SSA should give higher benefits to recipients whether they're disabled or retired. It shouldn't matter whether they're disabled or retired because the benefit amounts should be equal anyway. They really need to raise the benefit amount for recipients because of personal predicaments and necessities. Personally, I hold SSA responsible for my personal predicament, and for the predicament of others. To those on Social Security, God bless you and I hope things get better. I also think recipients regardless of disability or retirement age deserve to work without their Social Security benefits being affected at all. We deserve to have a higher amount. I personally recommend $5000 a month for single people, and $10,000 for married couples. Might be an unrealistic amount, but I'm just thinking about the people, and that amount would be helpful. I also find it unacceptable that SNAP benefits become reduced due to increased Social Security benefits. Increased Social Security benefits should affect SNAP benefits at all.
Following the untimely death of my mother, I have been trying to make sure that the very little income she did have coming in which was Social Security was properly handled, they were made aware of her death and that no one could take advantage of her benefits. Sheila was very helpful and kind, and I very much appreciate that, especially as I'm sure their phone, lines and offices can get exceptionally busy. I am very appreciative that my mother was able to have these benefits to begin with but the efficiency and kind nature of Sheila is very much recognized by me. I hope that people who have positive experiences with government organizations, such as this will begin to review them with kind words. I can't imagine how stressful it can meet in such an industry, but I appreciate people who can keep a cool mind, especially when dealing with someone grieving.
They just interrupt you when asking for help. My Dad is disabled. He can't call. I need advice for next steps! But instead of helping they just continue interrupting while yelling "I CANNOT GIVE YOU ANY INFO". As if I'm not doing my best as his caretaker to do these things for him!
Social Security needs to hire more employees to get the job done. It takes 1/2 hour or up until 1 hour to wait for employee to answer phone. This is not reasonable no matter how many people work there we should not have to wait this long on a phone. HIRE MORE EMPLOYEES a disgrace on the United States.
Following up on survivor benefits...on hold 58 mins. The man who took call was, rude, tired & so
Unhelpful! No even a hello, like I totally ruined his day! Sorry you have people working for you like this.
Can't chg address online. Have to call. Dad is blind, has dementia and a tbi and hard of hearing. Woman said if he cant tell her his address he can read it off some mail I told her he doesn't have any eyes. She said then I need to get POA to change his address. So anyone with disabilities isn't allowed to change their own address. She then proceeded to say family was abusing dad each time we told her HE CANT SEE. She spent the rest of her time talking over us to the point we had to scream FO at her.
I was approved for SSI and later for SSDI. Once my disability was approved my SSI was suspended. No big deal as I expected that. And my Disability benefit would be enough for me to live on. However I was expecting to receive my first Disability check deposited last week on the 2nd. It wasn't so I started researching. I found that I was marked to receive a paper check. Ridiculous. Any federal benefit I have ever received has been direct deposit. OK thought I would just switch it back in my account. However they provide no means to do this. You can change your bank info but not actually set it for direct deposit. I found another site that was supposed to enable this to be done but again it only works if I have already started receiving benefits, which I have not yet received anything.
I do not blame the employees, but rather the idiots who programmed their stupid useless website. I literally am unable to physically work
And have many bills now coming due. A lot of us depend on these benefits. It is a government website so I guess you can't expect common sense to be involved
After a 40 minute conversation, my problem was not solved. She said she did not have time to do the research.
I had a stroke on my job, it turned out when I went in the hospital, they determined it was my second stroke. I was a commercial truck driver. I also was the son of elderly parents. Even though. I am fully favorable, (disabled) I don't qualify for Social Security Disability. It seems crazy that Social Security is failing Americans every day, Americans who are actually disabled and unable to work. I have not been able to work since 2013. I worked my whole life on decent paying jobs. What I find amazing is that Social Security is miserably failing Americans everyday. How can I be disabled and unable to work, but not be eligible to receive Social Security Disability payments? It doesn't matter that you are disabled. It doesn't matter if you are unable to work. What matters to Social Security is if you worked 5 of the last 10 years. I had worked only 3 of the last 10 years, when I had my second stroke. It really never mattered whether I was disabled or not. Whether I was able to provide myself an income. It also didn't matter, that I had elderly parents who had become sick and needed my help in caring for them at certain periods of my employment. The interruptions in my employment because of me having to stop working to care for elderly parents, is why I was denied. It seems a common predicament, a workers employment, being interrupted, because of the need to care for their elderly parents, but Social Security doesn't care if someone is disabled or not. They don't care if you can work or not. All that matters with Social Security, is if you have worked 5 of the last 10 years. Disabilities and a person's ability to work are not the issue. What is important to Social Security is whether you qualify for benefits or not. They will send you to many doctors appointments. You can pour your heart of to their doctors, and find out you got denied. You will be confused because you know better than anyone, that you are indeed unable to work. It really is a strange feeling, being denied when you know you're sick, or know you can't perform the duties of your jobs, but a social security doctor you spend 15 minutes with, say "Nope, you're fine, nothing is wrong with you. What is the craziest about Social Security, is they will send you to doctor after doctor, trying to find one that can say "You're not disabled". They can know already that you don't qualify, but they can still send you through all the motions, like there's a possibility, but you were never qualified. I just found out after waiting 13 years to be treated fairly by Social Security and my previous employer. Why did I have to go through all the motions, hoping to get some relief, if it was never possible from the very beginning? Social Security ruined my life. I'm hoping now that I, can file a lawsuit. I have contacted my Congressman to ask for assistance and ask for change. So, because I happened to have an interruption in my employment to care for an elderly parent, I am disqualified to receive disability payments, even though I am disabled. That doesn't seem right, because I would imagine, its fairly common, for employees to have interruptions in their employment, because of having to care for a sick family member. How can working 5 of the last 10 years, be what deems you qualified or not? How can the fact that you are disabled and unable to work, not play a role in deciding whether you qualify or not! How many years you worked detirmines if you qualify, but your disability has nothing to do with if you qualify or not? This seems backwards to me and extremely unfair. Social Security I have contacted my Congressman.!
Been calling almost everyday been on recorded message for almost 1 hour everytime I call. They only answer once and after two minutes of talking to them all of a sudden feel like they are on mute for 5mins. And I said hello. U still there nobody answer. Finally she say hey can I hear me then drop the call. How stupid that is.
This Website is atrocious.
A first Temporary Code was Snailmailed to me and expired the Day I actually received it.
Now, they want to send Another Snailmailed temporary code through the same Unreliable System.
Fix you $#*!.
You'll be more Trustworthy when you do.
Today, I waited 1hr. And 7 mins. To speak to a representative Andrea K. From PA office. This lady was extremely rude and did not allow me to finish saying anything. Every sentence or two was cut off and I could never get out what I wanted to ask. Andrea kept cutting me off every chance she could. She did not allow me to fully explain my situation, nor what I was calling for. She was somewhat confused as to what I was trying to ask and accomplish on my call to the SSA.Gov. I wonder why? She kept answering me with answers that I was not asking or repeating info back to me that I did not say or imply. If she could have just been a little bit calmer and allowed me to get a few words out. Maybe, I would not have felt like I need to talk as fast as her to hurry up and get my words in, before she cuts me off with the "Bare With Me" crap! You can't just talk very fast at a person, not allow them to get a few full sentences in and when you don't want them to talk, you say "Bare With Me" ………OMG…. What a nightmare that was! I did not accomplish anything. I asked her for an appointment with my local office. I will try with them. At least they listen to you and give you a chance to speak. This was nothing but a run around situation. In the end, I asked her for her name, she hesitated and then proceeded to explain to me that all calls are recorded and can be reviewed. As if I didn't know that. HELLO! Most of us do know that Andrea! She gave me her name without any problem. At least she didn't just hang up on me like some of the Representatives do. Some of them will hang up very fast knowing that they treated you extremely rude, so you do not have the chance to ask them their name. These representatives should not be able to treat people in such a way. This is nothing short of horrible customer service from the SSA. GOV………. So sad!
My name is K Brown and I have been getting my Social Security benefits for about (12) years into my bank account. K Brown realized that her benefits was not coming into her bank account August 2022 and September 2022. K Brown's mother, Carmen Light, admitted to changing some things on her account therefore K Brown was not getting her benefits into her bank account. K Brown submitted a letter from Salveo Integrative Health Center, the application from Salveo Integrative Health Center when you are going to be admitted to the Health Center and a copy of her social security card. A lady named Ms. Viola that is the manager at Burger King at 3040 Five Forks Trickum Road, Lilburn Ga *******, has to give K Brown back her application also because Ms. Viola caused the investigation on K Brown's social security account. Ms. Viola's Burger King location needs to be under investigation also. Thank you.
I went to my local office today to get a critical payment CHECK issue per the instructions of a local office employee I spoke with yesterday. The employee did not tell me I needed to turn in any documents. I asked for the supervisor of the rude employee who stated that the phone person "should not be telling people to come in and get a check." I then asked for his supervisor. She came out equally rude and stated, "no one told you that!" I told her my rent was 1100 and there is a 75 late fee and the check is only 1266. She didn't care. I then told her you can see my case and ALL I've been through don't you think or have a heart to just issue the check right now? She stated no. She stated, " the only way I'm giving you a check is if you have proof of eviction or some other hardship". She wanted me to leave the office and go get a letter affirming my rent and late fee. I said no and why would I? No one told me that yesterday.
SSA's critical payment requires a hardship and OR PUBLIC RELATIONS issue.
I'm not certain how the supervisor didn't think the worker threatening me with 1st hand private HR information that I can/will expose on social media is NOT a PR problem. These are the things she told me:
1. Local SSA reps are not drug tested.
2. They can not be fired. They have to do something so severe it calls for an arrest.
3. Calls to the local SSA are NOT monitored.
4. There is no real complaint process. If and when you complain the only thing you accomplish is to pi&! Your worker off and they are the only ones who can work your case. Supervisors don't know how and will have to then beg them to do their job.
5. She stated that I should be glad they did NOT stop my payments when I called timely and advised them of the company, address, phone, and amount of payments received because what if I needed that money.
6. She said they are the same people (the worker) that can choose to pay you or not pay you.
I believe her. I complained to my state senator and the complaint was forwarded right back to the local office where NOONE ever contacted me. They never contacted me even being provided with the aforementioned details. No one has ever even apologized for my experience or treatment.
I also believe her because the prior Caucasian office manager stood before the entire wait room and said to me, "I don't know why "you people" continue to come to this office. When I said I was going to report him. He replied, "good you are helping me to early retirement." That's exactly what he did… retire. So did the lady who I reported my employment to…retired.
This is why the reps at local offices have ZERO accountability or integrity because they have ZERO consequences.
This is why they hang up on elderly and disabled individuals. This is why they talk to you any kind of way. This is why they have no urgency in any of their duties. This is why they should be considered accomplices in the creation of most overpayments. This is why the supervisor was able to come sit at a desk with me for the 1st time and not sit upright like she was someone's boss and representing a federal agency. Instead she sat leaned over to the side almost seeming to want to rest her cheek on the palm of her hand like …girl what?!
This is a call for change and CONSEQUENCES!
How do you make a recipient have more accountability, integrity, professionalism, and respect than your own Federal employee?
I worked with Anthony, who helped resolve an issue I was having with my payments. He was attentive and knowledgeable and immediately knew how to resolve the problem.
Thank you, Anthony for your help
Been hearing all over the media about extra money being deposited into your account depending on your birthday. It was suppose to happen in July 2022. If your birthday was the 1st through the 9th you were suppose to get a extra deposit on Wednesday 13th. If your birthday was between the 11th through the 20th you would get a deposit on the 20th and if your birthday was between the 21st through the 31st you would get it on the 27th. I didn't get anything on the 20th so called SSA and even their recording said there would be deposits at this time. Was kept on hold for a long time, finally a person come on and said she knew nothing about it and said it was just rumors. So here we go again being lied to by a government agency. Don't know what to believe anymore.
Tried to make an appointment to go in person but the line was always "too busy to take my call" so I went in person anyway and was told I would need an appointment. Two years have passed after covid 19 and they still apologize for this,
Justifying his inattention and poor work. Shame!
I tried to apply for mu Social Security benefits. The way I see it to get back what they got from my checks and what my company paid I will have to live too many years.
But here is the story, I tried to apply online. They just stopped in the middle and I get a message that they can't process it. I should call them.
Well, spend another 2 hours waiting for them to answer only to fins out that they can't help me.
I need to go in physically.
Alright, I did that. Wasted another day, as you understand only to be told that I need a phone appointment. Unfortunately these appointments are not available at the moment.
So here is my question: why did I need them to take my money?
If I had this money in the market, it would grow nicely and I'd have no problem getting it when I need it.! Star is tooooooo many for this organization!
After 3 minutes of useless information aimed to tell you that calling is not worth, you understand that nobody will get your call.
The line drops after 5 minutes.
At second attempt, I quit the call after 36 minutes waiting.
Answer: Then you are the luckiest person alive. I held for almost an hour, hung up. I did this all day long because they unilaterally changed my appt from March to April, and never called. I found out today some moron decided to change my information in Silver Spring so my mail went to my former husbands address in Delaware. He passed in February and his 4th wife who already has his SS checks wants more, so they called her even though my phone # was on the appt. How stupid is that. I figured out what happened and called her, you guessed it she got my 2pm phone call. Yeah! Really a professional intelligent bunch. Now I have to wait till June.
