Maybe things have improved but I have not had the kind of problems other people have complained about. I had no problem uploading 230 1099s from QB. I haven't had any trouble figuring out how to enter data and prep forms for filing. I like the fact that you have time to make changes after upload and before efiling unlike other 1099 software programs I have used in the past. I am not sure I am happy about the printing options but still looking into that.
You can not download a copy of the 1099s as filed. This company replaces the TIN with xx's. Therefore, you have no proof that your 1099s were properly filed. And if your recipient does not get the mailed copy from this company then you have NOTHING to give them. Do NOT use this service.
Hi small b, you can download the copy of 1099, both payer and recipient copies, under Forms->Manage Forms after you've made the purchase. For the TIN truncation, it is an IRS recommendation and also a Treasury directive, so that's why we automatically truncate the recipient TIN. You may unmask them at anytime. If you have more questions, please send us an email at support@tax1099.com with subject SiteJabber. Thanks! -Tom
We don't use QB, so if you did, based on the other reviews, could be very disappointing. But for us it works great, because we were considering manually filling out the forms and go to post office to mail. The other sites were significantly more expensive than this one. No question, the website needs updating, but for something I use once a year to send out about 8 1099s, well worked well for us.
Thank you K K. -Tom.
Oh my. This is the worst company. NO ONE answers the phone. My 1099s were imported 5 times and I had copies everywhere. No gives a solution on their fake chat line. They have the wrong e-file date in their software and it is UNCHANGEABLE. When you ask on the chat line they keep copying their non working solution.
HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. COST ME OVER $5 PER 1099!
Hi Sara H., can we schedule a time to speak about your experience and make sure you're taken care of? Send a e-mail to support@tax1099.com with subject SiteJabber. Thanks-Tom.
There is no customer support. Noone ever answer the phone or when you try to use the online chat it takes them 30 min to reply each time. What a waste of my time!

The QB import didn't work. Spent excessive amount of time preparing Excel spreadsheet. Imported information. Today I go back in to make the necessary edits and it didn't save the forms. The payer info was there. The recipient information was there. The form information was not. Clicking on Forms / Edit quickly shifts to People / manage payer or recipient. Used chat to solicit help and it was over 20 minutes to get first response. Spent another 30 minutes with the support person checking in and out and never got a reason for why it didn't save the information or why I can't edit under forms. This is the worst experience I've ever had with 1099 preparation. The Intuit 1099 was NEVER this difficult.

4 1099's-this year 2016, 2.25 hours
18 1099's-last year 2015, 45 minutes max... mostly because I pdf them all. This software stinks. Their chirpy little online is useless. Must be someone's gramma doing a copy paste to check FAQ's. Definitely want the older system AT LEAST AS AN OPTION. Enough of these these third party developers invited in to let Intuit stuff this down our throats and let Intuit skim some more cash.

I am a small business that uses Quickbooks. For years we have prepared our 1099s through the QB application. For unknown reasons, Intuit decided to use this useless application. After an hour and half, we finally gave up. We attempted to work with their support (no phone answer and periodic responses from their chat box) which was also useless. They advised I use their Tier 2 support, but you must make an appointment. What a disappointment. Don't waste your time. Bring back the old QB 1099 approach please!
Hi JC, we're sorry to hear you've had a tough time with the import. Can we set up a call sometime and help you onboard? Send us an e-mail at support@tax1099.com with your contact information and we'll get you taken care of. -Tom
You have literally saved me hours is manual processing! Loved your bill.com integration.
1. The whole Tax1099.com interface it NOT intuitive at all, hard to figure out what to do in what order. It definitely needs a re-design.
2. Had issues pulling in data from QBO, had to use Excel spreadsheet instead which took time to setup.
3. The download all or multiple PDF option was not working. We had to do each one manually, one-by-one.
4. The payment process is confusing (pre-payment vs. post-payment).
5. Customer Service was easy to reach, courteous, and helpful.
6. The site has good prices, though it's tiered and a little confusing. For example, when you do 11 - 100 forms, the price drops, but only for the 11th through 100th form. You still pay the base price for forms 01 through 10. A little confusing, but not a deal breaker.
Hi DG, thank you for your input. Were you able to complete your 1099? We'd like to reach out to you by phone and see if there's anything else we can do for you to make sure you're taken care of. -Tom/Tax1099
Answer: Hi, Michelle! If the state is a participant in the Combined Federal State Filing Program, the IRS will forward important information from your federal filing to the state. While some states have additional requirements where state withholdings are concerned, as a general rule, you won't need to send a separate filing to the CFSFP state.
Answer: Hi Roxanne, We have made many improvements, including a streamlined dashboard we will be moving to the site in a few days, additional staff for the deadline period, and a number of customer requests from last season. We will have some user training sessions beginning in November to familiarize customers with the updates. If you are a registered user on Tax1099.com, look for an email inviting you to register for one of those sessions in the next week or two. If not, send your email address to support@tax1099.com, and ask to be included when we send those invitations. Thanks!
Answer: Hi TW, thank you for your candid review. We'd like to reach out to you and resolve any issues when it is convenient for you. Send us a note at support@tax1099.com with subject SiteJabber and we'll make sure you get taken care of. Thanks. -Tom
Answer: Hi, Stacey, Yes, we file to all 50 states according to the most recent filing requirements of each state! Whether the state requires a separate eFiling, paper filing, or CD-ROM, we've got it covered. It's important to note that you'll need to submit any additional state filing forms at the same time you submit the federal eFiling - once you've submitted the federal eFiling, you won't be able to go back and file with the state in a separate transaction. Let us know if you have any other questions! Tax1099
Answer: Make sure you do not have local system restrictions due to configuration of antivirus software, firewalls, etc. This can cause plugin to not open. Saw some article on this when we had similar issues last but no issues after we used the first time.
Answer: Hi, Jerry! When you eFile, the IRS doesn't require a 1096. We have one available in your account, if you'd like to print it for your records. To access the form, click the "+" icon in the top right corner of your Tax1099 dashboard screen. You'll see "Generate Summary (1096/ACA)" in the column on the right side. Thanks! Tax1099
Answer: Yes, we are an approved vendor for IRS. You can e- file with us.
Answer: Hi, yes we can file the Massachusetts filing along with the Federal filing as long as the dollar amount exceeds the threshhold limit. If it doesn't, then the state doesn't require a filing.
