I've been on the Toptal platform for about 4 years and receive roughly 10 invitations/week to projects. Some are the mundane "pay the rent" projects, which I'll happily (and easily) do, but most are interesting, challenging, 3-6 month CFO projects. This keeps me coming back to the platform. I highly recommend it for quality of projects/clients and ease of applying to them. Payments are done 100% on time and in accordance with my timesheets.

I was initial cautious about joining TopTal as I had been on other sites and seen how the rates paid were very low but TopTal has very good rates and pays on time every fortnight.

My one critism is that they don't pay you directly like most clients but instead into their own payments system and you have to pay $0.50 to transfer the money out. In the grand scheme of things it is fine but grating every time!

The matchers/account execs at TopTal are always generally available within a short time of frame and are always super helpful.

I would 100% recommend TopTal.

I have had a great experience freelancing with TopTal over the last few months. The projects and the clients are pretty great and everything from invoicing to communication about the breaks is taken care of by the team, so you, as a freelancer, can focus solely on the work. I love the flexibility and reliability of using Toptal and highly recommend it to anyone in ML as there are really good projects available that you can help the clients with.

I've had a very smooth first long-term project with Toptal. The matching process was a breeze, Toptal was very supporting during the entire time. The site automatically recommended me projects that were a terrible match for my skill set but at the end I still got matched with a project by some human intervention in less than a month. I'm grateful that Toptal was taking care of the legal and accounting aspect of the job, so I could focus only on getting actual work done. During this one year project of course we've had some hiccups: billing issues from the client's part, some health and family issues on my part. With good communication these were always solved and Toptal representatives were very helpful in handling these issues.

All in all I had a very positive experience.
