FRAUD ALERT
December 5, 2024

Every claim I submitted was denied. I have been calling (only to never have phone calls picked up or messages returned) and emailing since May 2023 demanding my refund per the policy. NO ONE RESPONDS and the NEVER APPROVE CLAIMS.
RUN AWAY. COMPLAINT FRAUD OF A COMPANY.

I spent over $5,700 on two warranties. It is a total waste of money and a big scam. Rip off. You call and nobody answers. They put you on hold. Never get back to you. Please do not purchase this warranty.

Do not do business with TAP
May 29, 2024

Purchased extended warranty from company very unhappy with service. Advised can cancel and will be reimbursed prorated amount of policy. Per company sent request via email and was told refund will be processed in 30 days. This was in January 2024. After placing several calls to company and being told on 3 occasions that a check was issued and lost in mail was told a check would be sent fed ex and tracking number emailed. Last promised check was to be issued on May 24. Was advised by rep that email will follow with tracking number. Since January I have called and spoke with company no less then 20 times and each time have been told check is sent. I would not recommend doing ANY business with TAP

Total Auto Crap!
October 27, 2023

On and around July 3,2023 I purchased an extended warranty for my 2016 BMW seven series with this company called Total Auto Protect.
I Jason Wilford from TAP gave me the song and pony show about how great their coverage is and how it would protect my car. He then went on to say they basically mirror the BMW bumper-to-bumper warranty. This guy will tell you anything to get a sale so he can make his commission.
So I purchased their three-year 30,000 mile warranty for $5000 contract number TAP******* from Jason Wilford.
And I gave Mr. Woolford via email all the documentation required and pictures of my car, pictures of the dashboard, etc. etc.
In and around September 21, I had a warning notification pop up about my chassis. I called and made an appointment with Peterson BMW in Boise. This is a very reputable and outstanding BMW dealership. My car was taken in and seen by Peterson BMW on 9-25-2023. They diagnosed the car with several problems with the chassi. There was also some suspension and some other issues.
I called TAP to report a claim on 9-27-2023, filled out all the proper paperwork, sent the report from BMW to them, and waited. Several days pass by with no email or phone notification from TAP so I reached out to them. They informed me there were some paperwork that wasn't done. Come to find out they had it in their file and didn't upload it.
So now the claim continued. At this time TAP said they were going to review the claim and send out an inspector to view the car. I waited 4 days and heard nothing from TAP nor had BMW heard anything from TAP. Once again, I called TAP to find out what the status of my claim was and at that time they told me it was denied. I asked him the reason for the denial, especially when they never talk to BMW and said it was due to a WORN part.
THIS IS INCORRECT! NO WHERE IN THE DIAGNOSTIC REPORT FROM BMW DID IT SAY THE DAMAGE WAS DONE BY A WORN! THE REPORT STATES IT WAS CAUSED BY A BROKEN PART! Nobody from BMW told TAP that the cause was a worn part. Actually, Mr. Miller the service tech at BMW, told them several times after we received the denial that it was a BROKEN part. This claim is well with in my agreement with TAP!
TAP never sent the promise Inspector. Nor did TAP send me by either email or a phone call the decision of the denial. To this day I still do not have a in writing explanation of the denial.
I have tried on several occasions to contact Jason Wilford at TAP. Jason refused to return my phone calls and finally he responded to one of my emails stating that this had been turned over to a claim department. I called claims department again and then they turned the case over to a supervisor. The supervisor said he will reopen the claim and get back to me in a couple of days. It's been over a week now and still have not heard anything from TAP. I called Jason once again and emailed him to ask what the supervisors name was. No response from Jason. Jason and TAP seem to be eager to take your money and answer all your phone calls at the sales point. But when it comes to a claim, it's a ghost town. In my book this is called a SCAM. I reviewed their Better Business Bureau reviews and there seems to be a lot of other people being taken by the same company. They leave me no other choice but to file and take them to court. Now I have my car sitting at the BMW service department. I cannot drive the car and have a chance to cause further damage. So TAP does not care about your welfare, your car, or any hardship this causes you. TAP will completely ignore you in hopes that you will go away. The way this is being handle seems fraudulent!

Claim rejected for no reason
December 5, 2022

I spent 9K on the extended warranty coverage. The claim rejected for normal extended warranty items without proper reasons. Every time I speak to them it is very stressful and they dont understand the type of repair as well they have knowledge of repair parts. I suggest you to look for better warranty coverage from a good company rather wasting your time on this company.

Despite buying their Premiere policy, they have refused to cover almost everything so far. Their favorite excuse is to say everything is normal wear and tear. Washer jet hoses broken on a 9 year old car? Normal wear and tear. Wheel bearing gone out? Normal wear and tear, despite wheel bearing specifically being listed as covered on my policy. What a waste of money this was. I will be contacting the BBB.

Worst representative and customer service
November 23, 2021

The worst customer service and demeaning reps I've seen with any business in a long time. All I wanted was a confirmation email that I canceled the service within the satisfaction guarantee period. Called at least 15 times and send several emails, voicemails, but no callback. The 844 and 888 numbers listed in the emails will not work. John Myers is a rep who is all sweet when signing up, became the worst rep after signing up. Will not send an email of cancellation, gets very upset when asked for an email confirmation. Also talked to Matthew in the billing department. Both Mattew and John say 'you want an email cancellation confirmation for $100?" I sincerely believe that all the positive reviews are made up of bots and a huge push for positive reviews. No way the way they talk to customers will earn any positive reviews that they gloat over every 1 min of conversation.

Good support
January 3, 2021

I had a question about the payment method that was setup for my account. My question was answered by a knowledgeable employee. He was very pleasant and informative. He had all my information in front of him so I didn't have to explain everything each time I called.

I filed my second claim because my horn wouldn't stop honking. They had to take the whole steering wheel apart. The shop just took my warranty information and they handled everything. I didn't have to contact them to get approval. I recommended them to all my friends.

My air conditioner broke and it was taken care of immediately. Customer service and sales people are extremely polite and professional. I would recommend Total Auto Protect to everyone I know. It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Painless process
December 27, 2020

I have had two repairs covered and both times the car dealer called and it was handled without me needing to do anything. Very professional and a good value because the covered repairs were very expensive. Painless process!

Excellent
December 22, 2020

I was looking through different brochures at the dealership trying to find a somewhat decent warranty for my 2011 Lexus GS460. The parts are exspensive and Im not looking to spend to much. After looking at all the brochures I decided to go with Total Auto-Protect. Here's my experience so far on my first claim. I filed a claim for my alternator and I had no problem with the service, I did have to call a couple of times to get things straight. There was also one time they couldn't find my payment. But when they did, they applied it right to my account.

Very fast
December 20, 2020

Always a problem with the Window Motors, This isn't the first time I've had to use the warranty and I'm sure it won't be my last. After ordering the part that was needed, it only took a day or so for the work to be completed.
