The company's reputation is significantly marred by widespread customer dissatisfaction, primarily concerning its review management practices and aggressive advertising tactics. Many users express frustration over hidden reviews, perceived extortion for advertising, and a lack of genuine customer support. Positive aspects are scarce, with some customers appreciating the platform's potential for connecting with local businesses. However, the overwhelming sentiment reveals a distrust in the company's ethics and practices, leading to calls for accountability and transparency. Overall, the feedback indicates a critical need for Yelp to address these serious concerns to rebuild trust among its users.

I tried yelp business for my small business. They completely raped me of $400+
which I had been tricked into signing up for things when I thought I was talking to a helpful representative.
I never authorize 400 to come out in one charge. And they can't really justify it.
The "customer service" person Sharice, kept me on hold for almost 20 minutes just to tell me they won't issue a refund. I will never use Yelp again. All that money I have to pay and I got zero clicks on my page. Yelp is just happy to swindle that money, even though I am a single mom trying to run a small business.
Don't fall for the spill. They will tell you everything you wanna hear, just know YES you will Be CHARGED no matter what! Ronny told us we wouldn't be charged until we got a job from Yelp which was a complete lie. $570 taken out for NOOOOO reason! Once he signed us up we never heard from him again!
I've gotten a lot of clients with good reviews for free.
Yelp started calling constantly and bothering me to try their "FREE" promo,
After I repetitively said no, the rep said it would be free $500 in ads for one month! "Just try it!"
I finally gave in so they'd stop calling.
After the first month, I tried cancelling but it was nearly impossible. Contacting then through phone or email was a nightmare. I ended up paying over $600 in ads because I had to put in a couple disputes with my credit card company to remove them! What a tremendous hassle.
And can't even leave a Yelp review for Yelp lol
Yelp obviously does not have the ability to determine real reviews from fake. The site is grossly operated!
Didn't get anything promised from yelp on my ad for my company but still got charged for it. That's the only thing they got right. Yelp is a scam
Yelp did not provide the services promised to my husband's business. In fact, he believes they intentionally signed into his account to drive up the price! Additionally, they treat their employees HORRIFICALLY. This company is in need of a complete overhaul. Do not be surprised if they are hit with a class action lawsuit.
I tried the free yelp ad July 7 not even for a week my threshold was $100 payment date August 1st etc etc. I decided July 13 and called and canceled. Same day later I get notification of $119 charge from yelp on my card. I couldn't believe it. I was never told I was going to be charged. And they went into my yelp information and changed everything from free ads to a paid plan with a $450 threshold. Yes from $100 to $450 in 6 days.
I had a salesman call me I told him I didn't get any business from yelp. So he would give me a week free and he work on it. He said he give me a call on Monday at 4:30pm and if I didn't get any leads he wouldn't charge me. My messanger wouldnt work and he was suppose to take care of that. Still doesn't work. Yelp is a joke. Well they charged me $104 on Sunday night and he never followed up Monday when did 5 day billing cycles start. I'm a nurse just trying to find some new skills after covid. Shame on them.
Was really excited to leave a good review for a place. Couldn't get it to accept the login stuff for anything. Even used multiple addresses to get it to accept and nada. Why bother using them for anything?!?
All im waiting is to join to class A law suit against this firm that probably making tons of money from posting reviews and taking of reviews for money, very bad for consumer and small businesses
Yelp is a big scam! Stay far away! They become phone scammers and won't stop calling trying to sell you. Big SCAM!
DO NOT go with yelp. They are BIG SCAMMERS! They stole from my credit card $4,344.04. I DID not do this profile. "Alex Kaufman" a representative on yelp was responsible in creating the profile himself and HE NEVER guided me or talked with me to help with the process. I would have NEVER paid $15 per click. My entire income is less than $25,000.00 per year so there is No WAY I would've accepted. I'm not tech savvy to know how all this profiling works. I called Alex Kaufman so many times left a message so many times to CANCEL he never returned his phone call or ANY of my messages.I am not tech savvy, at least he could guide me on how to do it. I did not have access to my profile or user and password cause I didn't created it from the first place. This is horrible service. Alex Kaufman He is scheming clients and he deserves to be fired. Now I'm dealing with my credit dispute back and forth until I resolve the issue and hopefully it does. PLEASE Save your money and never ever make business with yelp. They scheme thousands of dollars from you and never give you a business in return, other than more phone calls from India.
Yelp is very disappointing to me because they've deleted my "tips". They do control what you say. Even IF it doesn't violate their "contents" guidelines. This is very subjective as long as you aren't doing the obvious attacking. This I was notifyed through a no reply e-mail and no chance to refute it. That's unfair to me and it's others who stand to gain of where they decide to take their business! Thus a patron or person should be able to discern on spending their own hard earned money. I am speaking about with another's honest and candid review or tip. Their "tips" could be a form of criticism or not. For instance, what to do or NOT to do regarding at a specific restaurant or business. After all, what's the real reason of a business like Yelp? Really good OR bad about any business, people should be able to see and decide for themselves. Yelp's quashes your voice though. I'm not so sure I'm for their ideologies.
I posted a review detailing the unprofessionalism and damage to my home by an HVAC company. The owner replied with lies and defamation towards me. I provided her with the facts and pictures, then my review was completely erased. I reposted my review, including the picture proof regarding CRS. Will Yelp protect this company again, or allow potential customers to be aware of my very real and legitimate experience?
I received a bad review on my yelp business page when I never worked with this customer but posted a review because he assumed I was ADT Corparate when I'm separate and a dealer. So with that said. I'm limiting my marketing funds with yelp and investing more in thumbtack and other sources. Received a response that sorry we can't remove it. Well you lost 500 a month times 12 so the math 6k for not doing your job right
I signed up with this company to get better local exposure. I was told I would only pay as people clicked to find me, and not immediately. I had 19 clicks and no inquiries and was charged $200 in the first 2 weeks. I am trying to cancel now and with 2 numbers, on hold for 2 hours. The executive was so friendly on my sale call, and now he hardly or denies remembering me. He said call him to cancel, all he did was give me this number I've been on hold with.
If I can give Yelp negative stars I would they told me i have a 300$ credit to campaign my business and ended up taking almost double form my account not to mention they have horrible customer service! $#*! YELP
I run a business my self and will never pay for yelp advertising again!
1) almost every hard earned review I recieve on yelp is not posted or as they call it not recommended. I've earned them. So the only way to make it cost yelp is no more ads money for them.! I dont care about your algorithm!
I WISH WE COULD GIVE YELP A NEGATIVE REVIEW NUMBER. I HAVE CONSISTENTLY ASKED THEM TO NOT CALL OUR BUSINESS NUMBER BECAUSE WE USE AN ANSWERING SERVICE (DUE TO BEING IN AND OUT OF OFFICE FOR APPTS. AND THE CALLS ARE TEXTED AND EMAILED TO US). THE ANSWERING SERVICE CHARGES A FEE FOR THE CALLS. I HAVE ASKED YELP NOT TO CALL THE NUMBER AND THEY CONSISTENTLY CALL IT TRYING TO SELL US SERVICES THAT WE KEEP DECLINING. IT IS PHONE HARASSMENT. WE HAVE DECLINED THE SERVICES WHEN THEY CALL OUR PERSONAL NUMBERS AND THEN THEY CALL THE BUSINESS AND LEAVE A NUMBER *******208 THAT NO ONE PICKS UP AND YOU HAVE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE. ITS PHONE HARASSMENT!
I had a small business. I don't like Yelp as they let people put false reviews. I also don't like that they put my business up without my permission. They put up my personal address and phone number. I asked them to take it down and they refused to. I did not feel safe having my information on their site. Yet they did not respect my request to take it down when it has come to my safety.
Answer: Yes, it's true or they go to "not recommended"
Answer: Yelp are crooks, find some where else
Answer: For one of my business they made me pay for their monthly service which I never did, so my positive review was hidden.
Answer: Look somewhere else. As the reviews here show Yelp is notoriously unreliable.
Answer: Yes they erase all reviews they darn well wish to delete. CROOKED YELP!
