I ordered glasses online from Zenni for the first time on 3/6/16. My 2 pairs arrived and were on my face 8 days later. I LOVED both of them. The quality was incredible. There was slight eye strain when wearing them indoors. (I only wear glasses for driving, and they were great while driving with no strain whatsoever for their intended purpose. There was only the very minimal eye strain when focusing on closer objects, which I don't need glasses for anyway.) It turns out I measured my PD a few mm off.
In the first order, I ordered a pair with 10% blue tint, and the tint was a little darker than expected, but I'm not complaining because I can use them as driving sunglasses. The other was a pair from the $6.95 selection, which ended up being my favorite, and which a lot of people have asked about because they love them too!
The day after I received them, I put in an order for 2 more pairs (with 2 different PDs) of the $6.95 glasses, and they arrived 13 days after ordering. Even found a coupon code for free anti-reflective coating! Again, I'm very impressed. One of the pairs is a thin, flexible metal frame which I'm not used to, so I'll need to adjust to them. I got clip-on shades for an extra $4. The other pair, I got $19 photochromic lenses and tested them out (especially after researching and reading complaints about photochromic lenses in general AFTER I placed the order.) But... I have ZERO complaints. They darken quickly in just a couple minutes in the Texas sun, and lighten better than many photochromic-critics stated, although they take about an hour to go all the way back to clear. I found my perfect PD with one of the pairs as well.
All of the glasses are great quality, especially considering for 3 of 4 frames, I paid $6.95. With all the add-ons, 4 pairs of glasses with a mix of anti-reflective, hydrophobic coating, tint, 1 pair of clip-on shades, and/or photochromatic lenses... my grand total was about $90. Even with my PD being slightly off with the first order, it was financially worthwhile to "test" a few PDs and have 4 pairs of multi-functional glasses for $90 than it would have been to go to a brick & mortar store, shell out $200-300 for 1 pair and have my PD perfect the first time.
Zenni is becoming an addiction here...
I can't express how I feel about Zenni, but I'll try! This is a wonderful site with GREAT deals on prescription eyeglasses. Even my eye doctor was impressed with the quality of the lenses. I have been buying from them for several years now and every pair has been perfect. Even the "cheap" ones. Lately I have had a difficult prescription (for double vision) and Zenni filled it perfectly (there was a $10 extra charge but that was more than worth it!). The selection is huge and if you like rather quirky styles they even have those. My favorite, although I haven't had the courage to buy them, is a pair with one round and one square lens! But there are plenty of the more usual frames to pick from. Attractive glasses can be had for as little as $6.95 plus $4.99 shipping. And the shipping cost covers the entire order. Many of these styles might cost hundreds of dollars if bought from an eyeglass store. My glasses arrived in less than two weeks. This is custom work at a tiny price. By all means give them a try.
I've bought 4 pair of glasses for less than I've paid for one pair. Good quality, quick delivery & excellent customer service.not only did I pay less but I'm more pleased without ever having to sit & deal with snotty sales people who try to upsell me & mess up my glasses!
Six months ago I ordered a pair of multi focal prescription glasses form Zenni Optical based on a recommendation from EyeGlasses-Online.info. I selected an inexpensive metal frame for $9.95 and the most expensive lenses (1.67 Digital Free Form Progressive). Lenses of 1.65 or more were recommended by my optician for my particular eyeglasses prescription. In addition, I ordered the standard anti-reflective coating for $4.95 and an extra pair of back up frames (no lenses, same model) for half price. Total cost $93.54 with coupon, a fraction of the cost I would have paid in Thailand. I received my glasses in 3 weeks. The frames were sturdy and lenses worked fine. I have been using my glasses every day since receiving them without complaint. I would recommend Zenni Optical to a friend looking for an inexpensive pair of glasses
Coupon says buy two get one fee. I put 2 in my cart applied my coupon and nothing, called for assistance and was told I ust have picked a sale frame, So I start again, Nothing works. So I place an order for one free. A week later I get the same coupon and when I report it as not working they state you must buy three to get 1 free, but that is mot what the coupon says. A little fraudulent. I would say so and very slow processing my order. They took my money 10 days ago and they still show processing not shipped/
I called for help, this being my first order and the customer service rep was helpful, nice, and really seem to care about my questions and getting me help. I felt no pressure to order, what I felt was that she cared. I will use them again, and again, they deserve 5 stars!
And then delivery and the actual glasses - 5 stars again!
The perfect site to buy glasses, which I do frequently as I lose them constantly.
I am a recent buyer from Zenni Optical. I was very impressed with the collection of frames Zenni has, and after i ordered my prescribed glasses, they arrived on time. Mean while I was a little concerned about the charge I saw on my bank statement, I contacted the online customer service rep (Jade), and she was very helpful. She explained to me in details why the charges were different than i saw on the order statement (it was converted in Canadian dollar from USA). My glasses came on time. I love the lightness of my frames and the smooth finish. I have a desk job and i have to be in front of 2 monitors 8 hours a day, I hardly notice that i am wearing glasses when i am working. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Zenni Optical for any buyer.
Unfortunately, I needed glasses and like most people, I can't afford to spend $300 on a pair of glasses. I searched everywhere for reasonably priced glasses and came across Zenni.com
I was kind of skeptical at first, but nonetheless I ordered my first pair! All glasses come with scratch resistant and other extras. You can add anti-glare, and they offer bifocals or trifocals and much more. I added the anti-glare and only paid $19.85 shipped. They were delivered extremely fast and I love them! I just ordered my second pair this past Tuesday and they will be there this Tuesday! Exactly a week, and they come from California! Give them a chance! You won't regret it!
Shoddy work not worth the cheap price. We ordered two pairs of glasses with an identical prescription. We received two pairs of glasses with slightly different prescriptions.
When worn, one pair would result in slightly blurred vision, dizziness, etc so we took them to an independent retailer and sure enough the axis on both lenses was off slightly (on the messed up pair).
We contacted customer support and sent the glasses back. After a month or so they came back to us (after we had to ask them what is going on) and said the glasses were fine. We asked about the difference in prescription and they said they would test them again.
Finally got back to us that the glasses were within an acceptable margin of error.
They have an acceptable "margin of error" when producing glasses to match a prescription.
In other words, what you order is not necessarily what you get - but that is just fine. You'll "get used to them."
I recently purchased 2 pair of glasses from Zenni Optical. I would give them 5 stars, if it weren't for the AWFUL and poorly designed cases they came in (I basically threw them away) but the glasses were just great.
The only creepy thing (I guess this is a trend, now) is that everywhere I go on the internet Zenni is stalking me. I don't like it, but I guess that is just the way of the world... although I must say they have been the most aggressive.
After complimenting a friends glasses one evening I was told about this site and how great they are. I checked reviews and then went on to make my purchase. BEST DECISION EVER. These glasses are inexpensive and fairly durable. Instead of only having 1 pair of glasses I'm now able to have multiple, I have 5 to be exact, so I can constantly alter my look. Highly recommend this site.
We order prescription glasses from Zennioptical for our whole family at least once a year. Unbeatable prices. Great selection. 2 weeks delivery from overseas. Would cost us a fortune to buy these at any local glasses retail store (especially for extra strong lenses and some extra coating, etc.) especially when you don't have extended health coverage. We also like that you can actually see how the frames match your face by uploading a pic of yourself and try each single one on, just like you try frames on in a physical store.
$6.95 for prescription glasses! I'v been ordering glasses for over 6 years from zennioptical.com. Excellent service, can't beat this quality for the price.
I rate it three stars for a couple of reasons.
It has very little to do with the product or the customer service.
The website isn't all that FRIENDLY. What I mean by this is you narrow down your search and it pulls up matches, you click to look at it and then you have to go back out and research. It doesn't allow you to just STAY where you are and open in new tab or window.
The shipping time varies between 7 days and 21 days because they come from China then to go Cali then get shipped out.
That's a pain. Shipping/tracking isn't updated and you end up harassing the online chat people in order to get an update which is ALWAYS generic and WAY off the mark with ETA.
The glasses aren't exactly as described, in some cases, and the sizing if way off. What i thought would be blue leopard print aviator cop styled glasses (Yes, there's a mental picture for you) ended up looking like kid glasses on my big head. The prices are great, shipping cost is fine, and they are usually fast to confirm your perscription.
Mainly my biggest complaint is their site and how not very user friendly it is.
I ordered glasses from here after I got my prescription because paying over $100 for glasses was getting to be a bit much. I ordered a pair of glasses, the sunglasses clip on and with shipping and handling it was like $16. My favorite thing about this site is that you can upload your own picture and see how the glasses look on you. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOING THIS. If not your glasses will probably fit a little different than you imagined. They're quick, they save your orders and they're just all around awesome.
Just purchased a few pairs of progressive lens eye-wear from this company. Shipping took 14 days for my first pair and 8 days for my other 2 pairs. All were true to the prescription and had no defects. Average price for them was $53 per pair where, had I purchased them at my optometrist's it would have been $400 for each pair. Only problem is a little guilt that I feel for purchasing them off shore but I am sure that will disappear very soon when I see my next bank statement.
I have ordered twice from Zenni and am happy with the glasses, the delivery time (less than promised time), and the PRICE! They are upfront about being based in Hong Kong. Even with the add-ons (anti-reflective coating) the total cost is so much lower than anywhere local (eg. 3 pairs for under $50 both times I have ordered). Be aware that if you have a complex prescription, it may be harder to get the prescription and adjustments just right.
About a year ago I was looking for some inexpensive glasses after the coating from my last pair of glasses started rubbing off (after about 1 year). That pair of glasses was covered under my insurance and was free (and would have cost about $100 retail with no insurance). I thought it was absolutely ridiculous that a pair of glasses costing $100 would have its coating come off after 1 year. I would have gone back to the store but that store was in New York and I had moved back to California.
After going to Costco for my first attempt, I didn't find any cheap glasses (cheapest was about $100 a pair which did not qualify as inexpensive for me). I googled and found ZenniOptical and decided to try them out. I was able to choose 2 frames with good quality lenses for $70 total for both ($35 each) including shipping. What a great deal! I was very happy with both pairs when I received them in less than a week.
Only out of the ordinary thing I encountered was having to measure my own PD - pupillary distance -- which I accomplished with a mirror and piece of paper. Not very hard but just a tiny little hassle. Still well worth the time and money.
Answer: Hi. We are sorry to tell you that we have recently and temporarily discontinued delivery to Spain. We hope to ship there again soon and we encourage you to check our website frequently to see when it is available again.
Answer: I had no problem with returning my initial pair of glasses. I contacted customer service via online chat and explained my reason for return and I was told I would receive 100% credit that could be applied to my reorder. I followed the return instructions given and kept track via USPS and the transaction went smoothly without any glitches.
Answer: Hi Reginald, thank you for your question! We do not manufacture only lenses, or lenses for non-Zenni frames. I am sorry about any inconvenience!
Answer: Hi. Yes, store credit is one of the options available when you contact us during the 30-day warranty period. And our Customer Service department will be eager to help you with the return. Please call us at 1-800-211-2105, email us at service@zenni.com, or chat with us live by clicking on the floating Support button that appears near the bottom-right corner of any page on our website and a representative will issue a return authorization number and provide return instructions.
Answer: Hi. Progressive lenses contain three viewing areas: distance-, intermediate-, and near-vision - the distance vision area is near the top of the lens, the near vision area is at the bottom, and the intermediate vision area is in the middle. The clear viewing area is located in the central "corridor" of the lenses, so there can be a noticeable but expected blur when looking toward the edges of the lenses. Due to this design, and because there are slight differences between progressive lenses across brands, someone new to wearing progressive lenses may initially experience some difficulty adjusting to them; likewise, someone who is already accustomed to wearing one brand of progressive lenses may have some difficulty adjusting if they switch to a different brand, and they will find that it it will take some time to become accustomed to the new lenses. Despite the period of adaptation needed, we are happy to report that we do not receive a disproportionate number of complaints about our progressive lenses. However, we don't ever want to assume that needing time to adjust to the lenses is the only reason a customer could be having difficulty with their glasses; consequently, if you have recently purchased progressive lenses, and have problems seeing clearly through them, we encourage you to contact our Customer Service department at 1-800-211-2105. Doing so will give us an opportunity to address the issue and to offer you a proper resolution. Thank you for posting your question.
Answer: I had the same experience. Very disappointing. When I called about the problem they questioned the accuracy of my prescription. I was able to return them for a Zenni credit, less shipping costs. Waiting to see if the second pair is better...
Answer: Yes, it costs a little more for bifocal lenses. It does not however cost as much as it does in a typical eyeglass office/store.
Answer: None. There is no guarantee on anything (lenses or frames) beyond 30 days.
