I bought an Alert 1 system for my dad. It wasn't as cheap as some other medical alert systems, but one of my neighbors had bought one for his mom and liked it. So far, so good. Wasn't too hard to set up.
Alert-1 is another very popular emergency medical alert system. I also reviewed Life Alert so I thought I would review Alert-1 too. The problem with these medical alert systems is that they don't work outside the home. You need to be near their base station thing. For that reason, I decided to get my elderly uncle a really simple to use cell phone instead. In addition to that they have new medical alert systems that have fall detection that makes them better. I'd shop around before getting Alert-1.
