It detects most computer threats and it does its job well
Be very careful when you buy Avast products, do not agree on automatic renewal. They have a strict policy. I got charged on my Credit Card for the renewal. I no longer own the computer where I installed Avast products and they refuse to credit the charge.
Avast is malware. It may remove other malware on your computer but Avast itself is also malware. It sends your personal data out to remote servers even when privacy settings are selected. It is popular because it is free. It is free because obtaining your data is profitable to them. If you install this software with a default installation, every website you visit is streamed to Avast. Along with data from the content of the file scan of your computer. If you install this software and choose not to send out your data in the preferences, it stills sends your data out. This is how they operate.
Excellent anti-virus program! Not a big name like Mcafee or Norton, but does a hell of a lot better job than both combine! Plus it doesn't eat your CPU.
Yet again another great anti virus software! Avast rocks!
Well, all the brew-ha-ha a bout viruses and malware has become a moot point. Viruses and malware will out, if you know what i mean. Every company with an ace in the game wants to make their point. As far and long as i can see, this discussion is never-ending and moot. We're all captive to these now, corporate gamers in the greater scheme of things.
It's the best antivirus on the web and it's available for free. I use it for a couple of years and have no complaints. Pc works fast and antivirus keeps blocking viruses. I think I will go for paid subscription
I have used Avast for many years now. I have had Norton preinstalled on computers I bought and it didn't take long for me to figure out that Avast was much better and to dump Norton. Although I use the paid version, I used the free version before and never had any problems with it. Since I recommend avast to family and friends many of them are using it and none of them have had any problem.
I downloaded the trial version and have been fully satisfied with it. Works better than others AVG included. Would definitely recommend.
I've been using the Avast free edition since maybe 2002 -03(so a decade now). Back then I was looking for a version that would run on Windows 98,2000, and i think XP (it was many different computers. I tried both AVG and Avast. AVG had a hard time with windows 98, while Avast worked smoothly across all of them. I have since ran Avast on all of my computers and suggest it to family if they are in need of an antivirus. None of the computers in my home have had any virus for about a decade now. We do web surf and download a lot, so Avast has definitely had its work cut out. I will continue using this software as long as its free.
I am a Network Admin and I fix or install computers for friends and family in my spare time. I have been fixing computers and networks since 1998. I find Avast to be the the best anti-virus program, especially since I first started using it when I received a 14 moth free trial. I believe they still offer anti-virus software at no cost for one year. I also purchased their Internet security program for a very low fee. It is a great program. I have used many other programs i. E. Bull guard, Norton, McAfee. However Avast seems to be the best especially since the first 14 months were no charge. Once I purchased the anti-virus software and the Internet security program for home use it came with a licence for three computers.
Just purchased the top-of-the-line software package. Much more comprehensive than the 'free' download, which is now apparently much more limited than it was previously. So far I find this equal to, if not superior to AVG. A close friend had a few terrible viruses embedded in his 32. Exe files, and AVG identified them but could not remove them. Avast did remove them, and found a few other issues that AVG had not even identified. This product has a long history of very good reviews as well.
What's your favorite letter? ARRRRRR! Avast! Antivirus is really free. If you want the bells and whistles, it's cheap. Are you tired of Symantec and McAfee ignoring your plight and giving you nothing but software BLOAT?
Dude! Get it FREE at Avast!
Free computer antivirus program. Avast allows home users to have a free copy of there great software. The best part is they offer consistant updates, keep your computer safe, and allow you to have it all free.
I have used avast home edition for years and never had any trouble. After you visit the site and download the program, you simply register and you are good to go.
If you don't want to buy an expensive antivirus program and then have to renew it every year, give avast a try. It's FREE, and better than most you pay for.
Sorry it is avast.com!
Finaly I found the right protection for me. I tried it for free and then purchased it.
There are two things to be aware:
1. You must to uninstall all other antivirus programmes (you will be temporary off guard).
2. After purchasing the product I started and continue receiving promotion for other products by them ( but I can live with that).
