Thew concierge teams is always super helpful. They always want to make ssure I am paired with new and interesting wines. I relaly loved the Quinte Royale Cairgnan in my last shipment so they are spot on!
While I am perfectly happy with the wine my one star review comes from the misleading nature of the subscription service. I subscribed in August and received my shipment. As I was out of town the majority of the month I have not even touched my first order. I then received notice that I have another shipment on the way without so much as "hey guess what you have more wine coming" email. I checked the website to see if I could cancel. At the top of the account page it lists that they are available for account changes M-F seeing that I didn't receive my shipping notification until Saturday I waited patiently until Monday and called during business hours. I was dutifully notified by a very sorry customer service agent that there was nothing to be done and they can only make changes to a shipment within 24 hours of the email notification. Considering that I am calling during first available hours as you are not open Sunday I was shocked to learn that I was out of luck. In conclusion NOTIFY your customers of upcoming shipments and UPDATE your hours online. It was rather annoying learn that Bright Cellars is staffed during the weekend and the M-F hours are a formality. Will not use again.
I would love to use this service, EXCEPT I don't want an auto renew-I want to order when I want! The wine is just average wine, but I would still do it IF (like I said), I could make orders when I wanted. They also don't offer an easy option to cancel which I wasn't fond of.
Seriously, make this service available to people who maybe don't drink that much wine and just want to try something fun and different occasionally and not spend money every month on an autoship.
I enjoy opening my monthly package - not to mention the wine. The packaging is excellent. I've received a box dented in shipping, but the contents was well packed and intact. Love the stickers placed on the tissue wrapped bottles! I also appreciate the educational piece included in each package. The variety of wines is helping me to hone my likes and dislikes. I also like the opportunity to rate the wine and earn points! I would recommend this service - not just because I would get points for doing so!
I love Bright Cellars! I'm shocked to see some of these negative reviews, because my experience has been simply amazing. They really do an incredible job of individualizing and catering the wines you receive to your own personal tastes. Over the last 18 months, they have introduced me to a lot of great wine I wasn't familiar with and the customer service has been superior.
Purchased the cheese assortment for a friend as a gift and she loved it. Great selection. I felt they also had great customer service, answered any and all questions I had to make this gift the best!
I purchased the monthly cheese package for a friend and she loved it. Definitely recommend this as a gift for foodie friends.
I have been a Bright Cellars customer for a few months now and it has surpassed my expectations! I've never been a big wine drinker, but I figured I'd try it for a month and then cancel. Since joining, I've increased my shipments and added cheese! The wine selections have been spot on! There was one bottle I didn't care for, so I gave it a low rating and let them know I didn't like it. They responded to me immediately and sent me a replacement bottle for free in my next shipment! The cheese is amazing! You have to try the cheese pairing if you get the wine! I love Bright Cellars and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to spice up their wine collection!
The wine was fine, nothing special.
The big problem is the shady customer service. There is no easy option to cancel or skip deliveries on the site. I am in the process of trying to cancel my account, and I have now gone back and forth with one of their "concierges" multiple times, as he attempts to get me to stay. Jeez! Just let a girl cancel! After reading some of the reviews, I'm tempted to alert my credit card company not to authorize future charges...
Reading all of these negative reviews, is really just shocking! Wine that averages around $12-15 dollars a bottle, deals almost every other month? If you cannot afford this, you really do not enjoy a good round of wine tasting from regional areas that are simply not available in local high priced wine shops. Customer service is easy to work with, and I have never had an issue when there have been shipping miscues, etc. Awesome company, awesome experience
I'm not a wine aficionado, but I like a glass of wine and always bring a bottle with me to dinners and events. Bright Cellars has turned me on to new wines and I always have a bottle on-hand because it is delivered to my doorstep. These wines are not available in the stores I frequent. I have enjoyed the cheese pairings and like the additional offers that they provide to members. Try it! You will like it!
Since we have been customers with Bright Cellars, we consistently enjoy the broad selection of quality global wines, accessible and responsive customer service, and the level of convenience provided through their services. We have also benefitted from their periodic discounted case sales too.
While the wines sent are a mix of 1-2 super cheap, 1-2 more decent tier, and one $15-20 bottle, the average cost you are paying per bottle is $15/bottle which is much to overpriced for the wine you're getting (hence, my docking one star). Other than that, I love the company because they're easy to use, deliver good wines, and are very easy to get in touch with -- anytime I want to alter my subscription (I currently have it set to every three months), I just shoot them an email and it's done! The combination of customer service and getting to try decent new wines is honestly what keeps me using them.
What initially sold me on this monthly box was the promise that I could skip any month. This is not true. There's no indication anywhere on their website, outside of the initial advertisement, of any way to skip. Cancelling requires personally contacting one of their "wine concierges." I got phone calls asking if I'd like to buy cases of any wines I gave positive reviews. I received hand-addressed letters inviting me to drag me friends into it. So far, I haven't been more than lukewarm towards any of their recommendations, despite their so-called "wine algorithm." Skip it, unless you drink a lot of wine and have the cash to spare.
I have never had a bad experience with this company. The wines are amazing and they are the best I have used at picking wines that I will like. The customer service is stellar as well. I needed to pause my membership for a few months and it was so easy and no one tried to talk me out of it, they just put it on hold and were happy to help. I have spoken to them a few times over the phone and over email for various reasons and they are always pleasant and eager to help. Highly recommended!
I used this company for two months, and overall I enjoyed the wines they gave me (they even got me interested in white wines which I previously avoided), but they were nothing special. For my first order they had a $30 off special plus a bonus bottle, which was awesome - I ended up getting 5 bottles for ~$40. I canceled my subscription because the usual price of 4 bottles for ~$70 was too much for me to justify spending on wine that wasn't worth the price.
I didn't have any issues when cancelling an order or when I canceled my account altogether, but this company is still a bit shady. When I first signed up for a trial shipment I was careful to read the Terms & Agreements, which never stated that I was agreeing to a monthly subscription. The website is clever in that it does not have you make an account, so you can't check up on this unless you call. I received no email communications about signing up for a monthly subscription, so I decided to wait and see if I got any notifications for the next month. Lo and behold I'm sent one on July 4 saying my order (that I didn't place) has been shipped already and my card charged. There was no email warning before this, and since they notified me on a holiday I couldn't reach anyone on the phone. They did answer the next day and agreed to refund the full amount. Though I didn't mention that I was, they gave me a very rehearsed line about how it "sounds like you were taken off guard by this shipment, would you like an email in advance next time?" Apparently they are expecting this call from their customers, which indicates that they do this deliberately.
Also I looked up the "White Willow" brand of whites that we got, and it has absolutely zero online presence. They must re-label some of their wines with a fake name, which was another reason why I canceled. Too much shadiness for one experience.
I really wanted to love this service, but when I opened my first bottle I had a sinking feeling that they would all be just as bad. Indeed they were. The wines were not turned, they just did not live up to my expectations for a $20 bottle. Not even close. When I wrote to complain, I finally got a reply, asking me to try the other bottles. I had explained to them in my emails that I *had* tried the others. After several more emails, no refund... so I disputed the charges with my credit card company. A few months after my order, I finally got the charges reversed. PASS!
I loved bright cellars and my experience with them. I was able to give good feedback on the wines i did and did not like, and their customer service was second to none. I knew from the get go I only wanted to use the service for a month to try it out (for budgetary reasons) and they were very understanding and cooperative with my requests. 10/10 would use this service again once I have more of a budget to do so!
I've have no problems with Bright Cellars. Only one mix-up with wine (sent wrong bottles) which they gave me credit for. The cheese is a decent match for the bottles of the month, but too many ones that include fruit in my opinion. Mainly Wisconsin.
Great wine! Supscription process is easy, and they are always reaching out with new deals. Tried bright cellars as a gift and have been very happy
Answer: Sorry! It's going to take forever for you to get in touch with them but I would go ahead an write concierge@brightcellars to put in a cancellation.
Answer: Just send an email to the concierge asking them to cancel. They will reply asking if you'd like to postpone your shipments. Just say no, you want to cancel. And they will cancel your account.
Answer: 4 to 5 days. It is usually pretty quick. They definitely keep you posted and supply tracking info so you are up to date.
Answer: Yes! And they left it on my porch without calling me. Fortunately, I noticed the email before it was stolen
Answer: Yes and No. While the company would prefer not to, for obvious reasons, they are also very customer service oriented and will work with you.
