I am very new to therapy, and so far calmerry has done a great job in making feel comfortable, heard, and like my issues matter.
We purchased this program in hopes that my son could get some help. Well I definitely would NOT! Recommend this site. The first therapist left after his first session, then the others didn't get back to him. We reached out to the site and the person we talked to told us his acct was closed so that's the reason he did not get a response. Well that funny because they charged the credit card for April and May. We were told the sessions he had from his initial purchase would not be discarded just but on hold for when he renewed the services. Now does that make sense? No it just a way to extort money from vulnerable people who are seeking help. Shame on you! At a time that so many people are in need of mental health support once again creating stigma. I hope the owners of the company read this and respond, if not then this just validated that this is all a SCAM!
This is just my 1st session but I believe my session with calmerry.com
So far has been fine. She's mostly asked questions to get to know about calmerry. She let me talk/share what I wanted to. It helped me show myself with less fear. I look forward to my up coming sessions.
Clients are charged regardless of activity on the platform. Technical issues are common and often, rendering the app useless but Calmerry continues to collect their fee.
Hello Sondea. Thanks for the feedback. Please note that Calmerry is a subscription-based platform. With your 1st payment, you create a subscription that automatically charges you as per your plan. This information is visible to the client during the check-out process.
Didn't really work for me as, like with the other online therapy platforms, there is a lack of therapists in my area. Calmerry says all of the therapists are qualified, but we know that's not what makes the difference. Wish they would be more upfront about this. Their matching process doesn't work if there aren't therapists with the skillset you want available.
The counselor may reply once a day only. Also weird the therapist doesn't have a headshot, at least mine; however, did take some time or effort into replies and not cut and paste. Note I had the messaging only plan. I think the input for text could be better. If you press return, it sends the message, not a new paragraph.\
Edit: I tried a new therapist (also no headshot) and kind of given a scolding like whatever is wrong with your current therapist when I asked to switch. I like the other platforms where you can swtich freely and not given grief over it.
Hello Smanantha. Thank you for your feedback. We are deeply sorry for the situation. We always do our best to match the client with the best suitable counselor. Giving us as much information as you can surely help. Also worth noting, that our team does not "scold" before changing the counselor, we simply ask for some details to understand why you were not satisfied with that particular counselor so that we can match you with a better fit.
Imho: Calmery provides the most welcoming atmosphere I've ever experienced on such e-therapy websites. Super supportive service and kind and compassionate mental health professionals – great job!
I'd say the treatment of religious abuse and trauma provided by my therapist from this platform was quite beneficial. I almost let off the horrible brainwashing experiences. I learned how to accept myself, established my self-worth and dignity, and now I can define my goals in life. But I wish video calls were more stable. My therapist and I experienced some technical issues and were forced to reconnect twice. That's the only reason I give Calmerry 4 stars.
My wife used Calmerry. The last therapy session was 4 days ago. She had some issues with self-esteem & self-worth. We found a counselor here (the service matched her with a specialist) who's amazingly perceptive and experienced. She helped my wife find the root cause of the problem and unhealthy behaviors and deal with all these. By the way, she used only evidence-based approaches, we checked it. I decided to leave the comment as I see a nice result and changes. So good luck =)
Since I'm quite a silent client and had no idea how to speak with a counselor and articulate my negative emotions, I needed someone to take the main role in the therapy process and lead it. Very grateful to Calmerry for considering this peculiarity of mine! That made our sessions much more relaxed and enjoyable.
I prefer Calmerry ‘cause I see it's the same as Talk space and Better help in terms of therapy quality but much cheaper and. Somehow more enjoyable :)) and their service support is a little bit more emphatic addressing my issues. In terms of the effectiveness, I can't compare yet- my therapy's just started.
I've been looking for a therapist whom I can completely trust and not just the "I'll-take-your-money-now-go" kind. And one of the best in my life is working for Calmerry! I know there are thousands of people with the same mental health disorders (eating disorder and selective mutism), but here my therapist makes me feel unique. My problems and daily struggles do worry him, and I know I can rely on him every day.
I like Calmerry and my counselor - even more. The problem I had was my impulsivity and inability to calm down to communicate with my partner to sort out our disagreements effectively. But my counselor recommended some techniques that already worked twice during such situations. I know how to act, not provoking conflict escalation:-)) I wish to continue the therapy here since there are other issues I want to cope with.
At first, I was scared to open up and feel emotionally vulnerable. But my counselor managed to make it like a 1:1 friendly conversation over a cup of coffee. I'm always encouraged to ask and tell whatever I want. This is 100% what I was looking for.
I've never thought that such kinds of stuff, such as grounding, breathe-count techniques, + a therapist's guidance can be such powerful and life-changing things! Very effective! These helped me cope with impulsive reactions and feel peace of mind. I'm glad I've met my best therapist there.
"5 points go to Calmerry for the convenience I experienced there.
· My counselor was available from Mondays to Saturdays (very beneficial for me)
· I could isolate myself from others and find the best place to message my therapist any time, telling them how I felt
· My longreads received responses with longreads. I. e., I wrote an extended message with many details and got almost the same-sized (or bigger), meaningful response but no one-sentence answer.
· I had the chance to agree on our therapy appointments, considering my personal time, too."
This service gave me continuous support and the feeling that there's always someone around me. It's something I didn't get in "traditional" psychotherapy. Absolutely love Calmerry and their unlimited messaging!
Appreciate the chance to visit text messaging sessions! The support team offered me video calls, but I refused to use this option. Video makes me even more anxious, and I'm absolutely OK with texting. For me, it's 100% better. Thus I have a lot of time to analyze all my thoughts and organize them in a meaningful message. And I'm happy to receive the same meaningful, well-thought-out texts from my therapist!
I'm constantly stressed and under emotional pressure because of my in-laws. I couldn't stop being anxious and angry( Although the actual problems are not sorted out, the therapist here helps me to cope with these overwhelming feelings, and now I'm less emotionally involved in this stress.
I'm an LGBT person and a victim of discrimination. Here, I found the support everyone in my situation must get! Very LGBT-fiendly platform. Highly recommended!
I felt very comfortable with my therapist at Calmerry. She was easy to
Communicate with and always asked the right questions to prompt me to
Think about my answers. I am glad I have taken a step towards
Improvement.
