I signed up for constant contact, I was not able to use it. I tried to cancel the month to month. Every time I tried to cancel. There is nothing you can do to select cancel. The platform is designed to call someone out in the universe to beg for mercy to cancel. I finally got the number from my credit card company, called, bypassed the robot, and set myself free.
If you open a new account and upload emails you are going to have spam reports for the first few emails. Anyone who does marketing will tell you this, there are just people who don't remember signing up. You get TWO chances then they will lock your account and make you unsubscribe any emails older than 18 months. It doesn't matter that a pandemic happened in the middle and many businesses came to a standstill at that point and weren't collecting emails. Save your time and money, use a company like SendGrid that has reasonable rules. I just lost 3 hours of time, which is $$, building my campaigns, uploading lists, and dealing with their idiotic support team.
I am a financial professional who tried CC for the purpose of connecting with investors. I work with ethical, professional people and was shocked by how CC operates, more like a back alley boiler room operation. Not only are their published charges expensive but there a host of restrictions and charges that they do not advertise, with a view toward squeezing every penny they can from users and being entirely inflexible in their practices. I would strongly encourage users to seek alternatives absolutely not consider unless you are doing mailings of 5,000+/month.
They are okay. I think that there is a meticulous team of reviewers and another team of support crew that can help you incase you get stuck. Good overall
Very inflexible and not reasonable when it comes to canceling the account. They charged us for months after we no longer were using their service and told us none of it was refundable. Not good for small businesses, and would not recommend! They also repeatedly paused our account for contact reviews which cost us time and money, even though all of our contacts were verified multiple times.
Be careful they will rip you off. They make it SUPER HARD TO CANCEL. Do not use this service find another one.
I signed up fot Constant Contact for 17 diffrent email campaigns all with diffrent email lists, for a total of 100,000 email addresses. I previusly had sent out these lists with Clickback, every 2 weeks for the past 3 years, I was promised by the Constant Contact salesman these lists could be sent. After spending nearly a week converting previous emails and reformatting existing lists, I tried to send them and Constant Contact refused to send them. They wanted written pernission from the "owners" on every one of the 100,000 names! This is impossible, nobody in this business requires this, I immediately cancelled them. Do not do business with this company, they make promises they do not intend on keeping and are living in the dark ages of internet marketing. No other email marketing company requires this.
Sam Lenz deliberately chose to ignore repeated requests to deactivate my account and to not call me. Had to call and tell him to deactivate and he had the gall to say all I had to do was ask.
Beyond unprofessional.
Will never use again and when I receive an email, will immediately unsubscribe.
In the beginning, you are old you have a "early success team." This is code for, "Tell them whatever you need to in order to stop them from canceling the subscription."
After 14 days have passed, and you're waiting for follow up to those sweet answers, you start receiving emails that what you were told is impossible.
Stay far away. They lie, they're aggressive, and they're compiling data on EVERYONE on YOUR list for THEIR use.
I signed up for the services. They really wanted my credit card information and signed me up for a monthly plan. They then cancelled my account in the evening on the same day I signed up- no explanation. I called the next morning and they told me it was because of compliance issues- that's it.
Terrible customer service, annoying interface, constant troubles. Worthless. Use MailChimp instead. Never use this company.
I don't know if this is a scam, but in the 2021 this is the only internet service that you cannot unsubscribe in the customer area, neither via web chat or email... You need to phone and I spent 20 euros. Now I hope the cancelled my account and not see other money left from my credit card.
A tips, use Paypal and not your credit card.
Constant Contact has the option to create an eCommerce Store. Sounds good; however, they have issues getting the store to integrate with eComdash (their own system). I've been using eComdash for several years so thought creating eCommerce using Contact Contact would be great. NOT. I've had a trouble ticket in for two weeks now and have not received answers to correct the issue. I do not recommend using Constant Contact for eCommerce store if you hope to integrate it with eComdash.
Unstable and unpredictable. Do all your editing and try to save and it refreshes and blows your hours of editing way! I am looking for another service because this one is the worst! Tried to save in small increments (like every few minutes just in case) but it still refreshed on me and I lost all of it. I'm done, they suck...
Customer moved their site to Constant Contact platform and asked me if I could do SEO. I checked the platform and noticed that it works and operates similar to WordPress or Wix. Therefore, I agreed to do SEO and started digging. I was completely wrong. Constant contact website editor tool is a joke. It is probably developed for a cheap email ad building but surely NOT for a website. Now, there is the tech support of Constant Contact - useless. Any question I ask, answer is "NOT POSSIBLE". For example: the H1 header for the website... not implemented, the "ALT" image tag for the LOGO... not implemented, the canonical URL addition... not possible, FTP access to files... NO. The list can go on and on... but that is the message. If you plan to have your website operational in search engines, AVOID this clowns as far as you can. Even when I tried to use constant contact platform seo tool, I got into a confusion. When you run their seo tool, it suggest some website changes and fixes, they developed it the way that it tells you exactly what and where you have to do that. I tried to follow their suggestions, and this is where I had to contact their tech support and ask for help with implementing all those suggestions. Guess what... I got confirmation from Constant Contact technical support representative, who consulted with higher management, that it is not possible to follow those suggestions and make website fixes. And the fixed suggested were very basic STANDARD html and word processing rules, such as: set h1 tag for each page, set "alt" tags for all images, specify canonical URLs, and some other small things.
Very unprofessional, very rude and dumb tech support from 3rd world countries, pricey.
Please think carefully before giving your bank details to this 'company'! After a FREE TRIAL they still withdrew money from our business account, we complained, and eventually our money was refunded. Only for them to start taking money from us again months later. Trying to cancel with them is nigh on impossible as they direct you to a paid helpline number. Such a shame because they've come up with a great idea but their ethics need working on.
I signed up for the free trial and never found the services useful for my business. I tried to cancel it but have found it so difficult. You HAVE to call and if you try they seem to be closed. I live in Australia and despite having an Australian contact number they operate on USA time which is fine but leaves me a very very small window to call them in. I got through once only to find out that the person I was speaking to couldn't cancel my account. They said they'd set it up as a ticket it for me and it would get cancelled. I didn't get any communication from them for about a year and I never checked (personal life was very stressful, covid aside) but received an email from them today and realised they had been charging me FOR A YEAR. I had even sent an email when I couldn't call them formally stating that I wanted to cancel but was told that I HAD to ring them. SO ANGRY! STILL TRYING TO $#*!ING CACNEL IT! My advice? NEVER USE THEM.
The recent move by ConstantContact to a new email editor has been a disaster. The new editor is far inferior to the previous one and customers have no choice. Read what users are saying on the CC community -- customers are leaving in droves.
Customer service is a nightmare, I waited a month to hear back from billing, they charged me again in that time. After advising you must email to cancel they replied after a month and advised I must call to cancel. I'm very frustrated.
This service claims you can cancel a free trial. You have to call their billing, who never pick up. Very simple scam. Been on the phone 30 minutes.
Answer: Because of their aggressive business practices. They lie, and they're compiling data on YOU and YOUR list to THEIR use. Go with MailChimp. More expensive but at least they don't lie and aren't aggressive.
