Beware the hidden costs with this service. They intentionally advertise a cost of £19.99 - and you can proceed to a payment page without any hint of a further charge because it appears below the quote of £19.99 and if you don't scroll down you'll miss it. However, once they have taken £20 off you they will extort you for a further £50+ to unlock your phone. This is blatant, intentional false advertising intended to trick people into parting with £20, using the fact that a further charge is detailed elsewhere on the website to cover themselves. As soon as I got the email saying they wanted more money i phoned customer service - 15minute wait, and then the rep said if i submitted a claim via the website i should get a refund. This is just a ploy to keep you from contacting your bank until they have taken your money - I submitted a form and heard back two days later to say no refund was available. The customer service reps don't give their name either so they can deny it. Then they enforce a 7-day payment deadline for the other £50+ – bullying – so they can just take your £19.99! The phone I had was an old one i just wanted to use for travelling to save damaging/losing my good phone, and has a slightly damaged screen etc. For £19.99+£50 and more I could've bought a budget phone for my needs! I rarely write negative reviews and I'm quite internet savvy, but I also feel that if people don't make an effort against companies like this they can continue to mislead and take people's money unfairly.
PS I wrote a review on TRUSTED REVIEWS.EU which I thought would feature on their website but of course it was removed - part of their great cover-up… amazingly their are NO reviews with fewer than 3-stars on TRUSTEDREVIEWS.EU! An absolutely disgraceful con. Also please see this forum for other experiences and a discussion of how companies use fake review accounts: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=*******

They are big scammers
December 15, 2014

They are big scammers. I have ordered 2. One for iphone 4 and another for iphone 4S. Both time they revert through an email that it is blocked and to unlock it they ask for another 70 pounds. In the initial mail they have shared one URL "cleancheck.me" where it shows if it is CLEAN or BLOCKED. I was shocked when i have check the status of phone blocking before my 2nd order which shows it is CLEAN but later it shows BLOCKED after their reply. COMPLETELY FRAUD. My negative review on their trusted review site is always come on top with keep changing date. Well PLANNED SCAM

I had the same issues as everyone else was charged £19.99 and told it would be further £79.99 to unlock my phone. Wrote a bad review on the review section of their website last night, but hey presto it has dissapeared this morning. Luckily I've got a screen shot of this in which I will be using to take further action against the company. Avoid official I phone unlock.co.uk at all costs, very big scam going on here!

I needed to unlock my iPhone 4s so paid these guys $10 to check and see if the phone was blacklisted, the $35 order #******* and then another $58 for order #*******. Today they asked for another $190 so I started looking on the internet and they are definitely a huge well organized scam. Their phone number *******084 is incorrect and does not work. They do not answer emails sent through their contact us box and, the check your order button is full of false information. I have heard allegations from others who were scammed that the owners behind this company are Kenyan and associated with the Russian mafia. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!

I don't know how this business works but in the states we call this false advertisement and a scam. When I first came across this site they promised a FREE unlock check and guaranteed a permanent unlock. Even after paying the £19.99 I was deceived to believe that my IMEI was "ready for release." Then they made me pay £49.99 because "the unlock was ready" and it would be completed between 4-7 day. It wasn't until 20 days later that they said that the phone was barred and could not be unblocked. The only reason I paid the fees was because I was led to believe that my phone would be guaranteed to work. So they charged me £70 and I got NOTHING in return. They refuse to give me a refund.

Worldwide unlock worked for 2 iPhones locked to Softbank, Japan.
I just didn't like how they work. First, they charge a low price for unlock, and then they charge more because it's blacklisted and claim that a worldwide unlock is needed.
After I paid for worldwide unlock, both iPhones were really unlocked.
They should have a service to check if an iPhone is blacklisted as I order, so I don't waste time trying to order the regular unlock.

These are crooks
June 19, 2014

These are crooks. Word of caution for those buying service from officialiphoneunlock.co.uk. After seeing reviews from trustedreviews.eu, their facebook page, i bought their unlcok service for my sprint. Before buying I checked my esn at swaapa and checkesnfree where it came clean. After more than an month of buying their service they mailed me saying that my phone is blocked and promised a generous refund to a trade account to use for another imei, but it was never returned and no more mails from them. Then I started checking their site and found these facts. First you will notice a free unlock check button on their site. When you check for a imei and an operator you will get a price quote and reviews below it. These reviews are manipulated. You will find same person reviewing for different operator iphones and claiming unlock. And I think trustedrevies.eu is also their site and manipulated. And if you check their facebook page you will see all positive reviews, because these guys are removing all negative posts. Becareful guys these are cheats and they will fleece you.

officialiphoneunlock.co.uk scammers and blackmailers

I purchased an unlock for an iPhone locked to Softbank Japan for 89.99 pounds, with a turnaround time given of 15 days, i paid by credit card (they dont offer a paypal option, i now know why). After 30 days i contacted them and ask for an update, they did not respond, after another week i contact them again with no response, 2 days later i contact them saying i am starting a credit card chargeback. In which i finally got a response, saying the unlock could not be processed since it is blocked in Japan and because it is a blocked i am not eligible for their so call 100% money back guarantee. I decided to follow up on this, where 3 different independent services come back stating the phone was clean and NOT blocked in Japan, this blew their explanation out of the water, once i contacted them about their lies, i was replied to; stating that if i was to go through with a credit card chargeback they will Apple ID Activation lock my phone, now look since i know it is impossible for them to do this, i am pushing on with my chargeback, but at the same time its blackmail.

Trustedreviews.eu on their site is also fake, this same review was deleted there

Put simply, stay away. I have reported this company to Trading Standards in the UK. Google is your friend, don't believe the reviews / hype advertised on their website. Remember they have thousands of affiliates making money from promoting their unlock service and their website is insecure and NOT protected via McAfee Secure, the seal is fake, reported to McAfee direct. Be warned, don't be another lost cash statistic.
They have zero support after you pay and you have no chance of refund, approach your bank and get a charge-back only option (and even then they threaten you with blacklisting IMEI, (which ofcourse they wont and can't anyway!) Don't be fooled by the telephone support number, no one ever answers. Terrible experience, never again..

Same story popping up everywhere about this "company". You get your iphone checked independently using CHECKMEND, you're report comes back clean, you go ahead and pay for an unlock and 10~15 days later you get a message saying your phone is blacklisted, no refund. DO NOT USE THESE SCAMMERS. UPDATE THEY EVENTUALLY REFUNDED MY MONEY AFTER ALOT OF TOING AND FROING
