The comforter that I purchased for my son's freshman year at college was admittedly part of "a new product line" according to Heather, the "customer service manager" at BYourBed/DormCo. It ripped in several places within the first month. Heather asked me to have my son photograph the rips in his comforter and email them to her before she could do an exchange. He took two pics and I emailed them, at which point Heather replied, "Thank you for sending the requested pictures!... Based on the photos, [QA states] 'it appears that the comforter was caught on something thus causing it to rip. We would be able to assist you with a replacement as a one time courtesy, but do require that the current unit be shipped back to our warehouse... and [a new comforter will be] shipped out once we see that the current unit is in transit." I explained that would require my son to go without a blanket on his bed for at least a week--during midterms--and could they make an exception. ABSOLUTELY NOT. I was told Mr. Gawronski, the founder of the company and also a father of four, does not have a phone line for customers and I was not provided the name of the PR representative. Heather explained, "We don't give that information out." Based on a total lack of empathy and compassion for customers, this company should not be in business. The quality of this particular product is awful. Please don't give them any money--they don't care.
First of all, I was looking for an easy and fairly inexpensive way to cover up the paneling in my sons nursery since the landlord would not let us paint. I figured up how much temporary wallpaper I would need (the room is 100 sq feet) so two rolls should have been enough (it says one roll will do 56sq feet which is a lie) so I bought two rolls. As soon as I get them I start putting the stuff up and bam! I run out! I was appalled... mostly because the walls I did have two windows on them so I know that was not over 100 sq feet... so I hop online, mad and furious, but order one more roll because I have to finish now. I get that roll and put it up. BAM! I run out yet AGAIN! So, I have order the very last roll (and the very last product I will ever order from this site) yet again. According to their false calculations, I've bought enough paper to do 224 sq feet... so yes. They're liars. I swear they did it so when you bought what you thought was enough you'd run out and have no choice but to buy more so you could finish...
Dormco charges extra for "expedited" delivery but the items do not deliver within the expedited delivery window. If you want to return something because it didn't deliver in time, you're stuck paying return shipping charges on bulky items made from heavy MDF particle board that costs a fortune to ship back. Dormco won't honor delivery window timeframe and basically just tells you, "that's your problem." I would never shop here again. Zero stars.
This company has absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE WHATSOEVER! The process to order boxes is confusing. I spent $150 on four empty boxes which they sent to my final destination instead of to my home for me to actually fill the boxes. I also paid for expedited shipping, which didn't happen. It took a week for the empty boxes to arrive at the WRONG LOCATION. When I called customer service they couldn't care less. Please, please don't order from this company.
Don't order from this company! Wish I'd read this site before ordering. I was sent a damaged bookshelf, six out of eight pieces were chipped or split. I called and of course was told I could ship it back but I would have to pay the shipping which is ridiculous. My other option was to take pictures of the damaged pieces which I did. They shipped out six "New "pieces. They were damaged as well and did not match up with the pieces I had. Customer service representatives were not helpful. When I asked to speak to a manager I was told they were unavailable. Never will deal with this company again!

My sister, who is very excited to move into her college dorm today, bought from this company and found it to be complete trash! Upon first washing, the inside of the comforter balled up beyond salvaging. The company would neither sympathize, give her a refund, or an exchange. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM.
Ordered the 30 inch drop bed skirt for my daughter's Twin XL dorm bed. Item arrived on time. Item fit the bed perfectly and added the finishing touch to her room. Perfect!
Worse customer service experience ever!
Desk bookshelf came damaged(every single shelve was defective!), hardware was loose in the box and some parts parts were missing. Send pictures of all the damged parts and still would not issue a refund unless I paid for the shipping cost. Heather, the customer service manager was uncooperative and useless. Never order from this place again, poor quality material and horrible customer service!

Self locking trunk came damaged with missing pieces would not issue a refund unless I paid for shipping $45 for a $90 product. I let them mail me another only to find illegible directions and not instructions on self locking mechanism. Called customer service only to be told the warehouse would call me back they're busy! Customer service rep Olivia was nasty and rude... never order from them cheaper isn't better so disgusted!
Received poor quality, damaged product. They would not return. Said that if I didn't want a replacement, they would not pay to ship it back. Quality if product was horrific...why would I want them to replace damaged goods by shipper that are poorly made?
The comforter I received was decent, but I returned it because the colors looked different in person. YOU WILL NOT GET REFUNDED IF YOU RETURN A PRODUCT TO DORMCO! They said that it looked heavily used with a stain which is impossible since I only took it out of the packaging for 10 minutes and they did NOT refund me! That's $60+ that I cannot get back based on a stain that I did not cause.
Regretting my purchase with Dormco. Selected their higher end products and I am really dissatisfied. The quality is low and colors not as shown and prices not so great when you see what you get. Spent almost $60 for the all cotton comforter. It is thin and looks gray instead of lavender, same with sheets, the aqua sheets look like green scrubs. Sheets are not great, but ok, colors not as shown. The rug is really cheap and super thin. Mattress pad really thin- paid extra for the all cotton. The drawstring on the laundry sack/ backpack is super thin and weak, won't close not hefty enough. The bag itself is ok. Overall not a good purchase at all. Feel really cheated. Spent over $350 for garbage I can't return. They have a really poor return policy and you have to pay all shipping costs. I do not recommend. Skip Dormco and go to Bed Bath and Beyond or Walmart.
We purchased a rug. It was thinner than a towel. Returned it 4 days later and was told there was debris on it (it was out of the package for 10 minutes on laying on top of our living room rug) and would not give us our money back. It's not a company I would buy from again. Young unprofessional customer service
I bought six crates and only one arrived. When I called them I explained that only one side of the box that they shipped it in had been sealed the other side was wide open and all the crates but one were missing. I sent numerous pictures of the unsealed box--they said they would "investigate"--they did not get back to me so I called again. This time I was told that the warehouse manager is still out so they haven't investigated. So at this point I have paid for the crates--none are on their way and we are waiting for them to "investigate"-- look at the pictures--you messed up--fix the situation, don't have the customer getting more upset that they don't have their product!
They sent me a ripped comforter. It is made from cheap fabric and threading. I highly recommend buying from somewhere else.
I ordered 4 products from this company. Two of them were much smaller than they appeared on the website. When I checked the website, they didn't actually give dimensions so I had no leverage to return the items. One of the items was a laundry basket and they sent the wrong basket. I contacted the company who asked that I email them pictures of the basket to prove that I did receive the wrong one. I sent them the pictures and got a nice email back from Jenny confirming that they sent me the wrong basket, they would send me the correct basket and I did not have to return the wrong basket. They suggested donating it if I didn't want it. That was a fantastic response to their mistake. However, I later received an email from Marie that stated that they didn't have the basket I ordered in stock so I could either keep the wrong basket and I would not get a refund or they could ship me a prepaid return label to ship back the wrong hamper and I would get a refund. I asked why I now had to make an effort to correct their mistake when Jenny said that I could keep the mistake. Given the shape and size of the laundry basket, it will probably cost just as much to send it back as it cost the company to make. In their numerous responses, they completely ignore the statements that Jenny made and just apologize for "my inconvenience." You are much better off going to Bed Bath and Beyond with your pile of coupons. Skip this company that doesn't care about service. I'm pretty convinced that they sent me the wrong basket on purpose when they realized they were out of the one that I ordered.
Everything in the order was as described or better! The $3.99 shower caddy is a lot sturdier than I expected. I think they will get a lot of use out of them.
Never had a problem with this company, and I order from them every 4-6 months.
Plus, the shipping gets to me in 2-3 days with the under $3 shipping charge for the whole order. Couple of times I need to contact them they were quick to reply, and helpful. The basic clip on lights were 30% to 50% cheaper than anywhere else, and of good quality. It's why I keep going back to them.

Answer: The shipping home is ground UPS shipping so when you pack expect your stuff to get thrown around. I shipped mugs, a brita filter, and a desk lamp (with the bulb still in it) from CA to TX and nothing was damaged. The boxes looked a little beat up when they arrived. I recommend wrapping particularly fragile items (glass, mugs) in packing paper and a comforter or blanket. I think this service was worth the price. Shipping USPS on your own is way more expensive.
