It's really sad when you make a mistake and the way they punish you for it is insane but they have employees who still from their and they give money to those who don't even work how is that justice?
First off if I could give a million stars for the manager Tanya, i would. As soon as I answered I felt that I was going to be helped. She reassured me, and my questions were answered. My experience before her was another lady who made me feel like she didn't knw anything, so I was very scared. Thank you again E.D.D for hiring Tonya as a manager or supervisor. She deserves it and more.
It's unfortunate dealing with people who don't have the human decency to help those in need. We cannot survive in CA with all of these high costs and when we need a little bit of help, we are met with a laugh and a push away.

Filed an appeal due to denial of benefits for fraud, edd lady sends me to the appeal board for information; call *******803 and this chick sounded like I interrupted her drunken nap; she says "you need to call EDD. I reply "I did and the rep referred me to you and gave me this number". She unprofessionally says well I don't see an appeal so call her back. Fraudulent claims have been filed and I am getting the consequence. Hey Newsom, hire me and I will really help the unemployed instead of the bs you got going on.
I've been trying to reach a CA EDD customer rep for what feels like eons - it's like a never-ending punchline to a terrible joke. I've even resorted to YouTube tutorials and pressing 134 repeatedly after hitting #1, but with no luck. Some people have had to shell out money just to get through to someone! It's absurd to think that our hard-earned tax dollars are going towards such a poorly designed system that offers zero customer support. Did you know that if you don't notify them within 16 weeks about enrolling in training, your benefits vanish into thin air? It's a race against the clock that's impossible to win when you can't get in touch with anyone. Someone's definitely playing the system, and I'd love to know who's got the last laugh.
They delay your time and do not pay you at all do not file for unemployment you wait 2 weeks for a paycheck that isn't enough to even survive especially when you have to be paying rent and bills, the call wait times are also very long to around an hour or even more or sometimes they don't even answer, I recently filed for fraud due to a situation of people using my card and stealing money from me they still haven't resolved my issue and I spoke to a lady today after being told unnecessary information that is wasting my time all she told me was good luck and ended up sending me back to the main menu and not letting me get my money that they owe which they owe me alot of money I do not suggest collecting unemployment
The edd has been doing really too much messing around...I have told several representatives who are not helping.and since the new system it's a million times worse than Before.i feel this system was put in place to cause anger and toxic stress to California residents.I'm so frustrated I bet everyone else is too this is not good we pay your salary and you treat us with no respect and keep screwing people around.to those that do karma is right around the corner.I hope you loose your job and have to deal with the same situation where people are bs around and playing games.and stressing people and making it where you have to beg for what is yours...Honestly...What's going on.i feel the devil took over all of you edd employees..
As if it's not already hard enough to reach a live person to talk to. EDD thinks EVERYONE collecting disability is just a bum trying to get money/or live off the government. Law enforcement here and I was hurt in the job. Every time someone answers the phone they put you on hold for 30 plus minutes then hangs up on you so they don't have to do their jobs! Going remote for these employees should not be an option! They're rude, lazy, non compassionate, arrogant etc. they need all the supervision they can get! It's not just one employee, it's ALL of them!
No customer service available at all even with the customized phone number that is provided in the website. What nonsense, it automatically cuts the connection saying we are experiencing longer hold time. Very pathetic, can't reset our security questions, won't verify us with our SSN nor our drivers license and won't show us our account/previous claims when you login to your account.

Today Dec 1st I called about 11:00 I got on the phone with a rep a African American woman.she was very rude yelling and would not let me get a word in and she made it seem the only way she could help me is if I had my last paycheck stub.and I explained to her all she needs to do is contact my previous employer then she said ok I'll get someobr else to help you now I've been on hold an hour plus.I mean have a heart.iwe unemployed people are the reason you have a job and we are already very stressed and it doesn't help when the people are supposed to help you are really rude a cold calas.I don't know why I was treated this way and after the call is done I will leave a review.i believe she knew her conduct was inappropriate and she wanted to disconnect me because she knew I would leave a review since I am set to leave a review after this call so she wants to get another representative in trouble or say it wasn't her on the phone.mind you.all this is being written while I'm still on hold.very frustrating.inam writing this so people will know about this representative and hopefully put her at a different position so other hard working Californians won't have to deal with the blatant disrespect for no reason during this difficult times.thankyou
I called this morning right at 8 and got told there is 1 min to wait. After waiting for 45 min someone answers and says to wait but she actually goes on break. Then she comes back and is surprised that I'm still waiting. She was so rude and inconsiderate I cannot believe how someone can be this pathetic in doing their job.
The California State Auditor has responded to me with a letter [dated: 6/28/2022] basically saying they could not do anything to help me, which made me realize that they need to be dismantled as a government agency since they cannot or are unwilling to do anything for an average citizen with a legitimate complaint against another government agency.
The Government Claims Program finally responded to me with a letter [dated: 6/16/2022] stating that they would initiate an investigation into my claim and it so happens that in the midst of their "investigation", the EDD had contacted me via email for me to certify of benefits, which I did, but as it turned out it would be for only one week, and even a "continued claim" form that had been mailed to my address basically showed only for one week's worth of benefits, which I mailed back.
Not only have I not been paid the benefits I certified for, but the GCP mailed a letter [dated: 8/25/2022] to me stating that my claim was being rejected because "the State does appear liable for the claimed damages" and that I was "fully compensated for the Unemployment Insurance Claim that is the subject of this claim" and I say that both statements are complete LIES because there is no evidence has been shown to me to suggest an actual investigation was ever done and I have since shown proof that the State is liable, but tragically, stupid, cowardly, corrupt people have been allowed to be employed at our government agencies and reek all kinds of havoc within the system itself. Therefore, my position is that if agencies such as the EDD, the DGS and the CSA are being allowed to be dysfunctional, then they need to be dismantled immediately because intelligent people literally are being silenced so that stupid, cowardly, corrupt people can be paid to do absolutely nothing but cause confusion for those of us in genuine need.
Be advised that the California State Auditor (CSA) has sent a letter to me in response to my complaint and has stated that not only can they not keep me informed about the status of my complaint, but they cannot even engage in any kind of enforcement. I have filed a Government Claim with Department of General Services (DGS) and received a letter stating they were going to do an investigation, and on Saturday, July 30th, 2022, I received a "Continued Claim" form from the EDD, but for only one week of UI Benefits.
I am still owed $3,042.00 from my U. I. claim, which expired in September 2021. This is evident in my paystubs and checks when viewing how my payments have been issued without the additional $338.00. Plus, the EDD has stated that "you may be eligible for another extension.", which clearly shows that I am still owed the rest of my U. I. benefits.
I have since filed a paid Government Claim with the Department of General Services and have received no response from them. I have recently filed an online whistleblower complaint with submitted evidence to the California State Auditor (Case #I2022-0481) and I am now waiting for results from the CSA.
During the time I got fired. Had reached out to EDD for support. I wasn't given the proper service I was refused and denied from the beginning. I had followed all terms in getting EDD. I had previously had applied two other times before with the 12 yr period was denied.
The time that I was denied had won from my previous jobs class action lawsuit mistakes and wrong doing.
Very disappointed and ashamed of EDD.
I want EDD to earse/ delete my personal information and file permanently. Don't want their service ever nor should they hold on to my data.
To think you can be paying off overpayment unemployment over 20 years. They won't remove penalties or interest and if you become unemployed they will deduct it. The laziest staff in history.
So I have been dealing with an issue with the unemployment department since March. Every person I've talked to has been super nice and really helpful, but today I called to see if my issue had been resolved yet (hadn't received anything in the mail) and was kind of just sick of going through the hoops so I wanted to see if I could get in contact with a supervisor and see if it could get resolved quicker. Well the representative named Rael (not quite sure how to spell it) he misinterpreted my request for a supervisor and assumed that I was upset because he asked for my address? I then tried explaining to him what was going on and that it wasn't his fault but he didn't even listen to me and just hung up the phone extremely rudely. I treat everyone I meet with respect even if they don't show it back to me. But I've never ever been treated this way before and I'm very disappointed someone thinks they can treat people like this who are just trying to survive.
The EDD and the SDI department act as your not entitle for the benefits your employer and you contribute to. When someone becomes disable this should be the less of there worries to be waiting to get there benefits. This government needs to do something about the way there employees are handling each client case and the time manner. If there collection department answer in a timely manner they should do the same to the people who are requesting for there benefits. They also need to answer the online request on there claim why have this if they never follow up. Answer the phone lines no one needs to be waiting all day to not even get through!
