The overall reputation of the company reflects a significant divide in customer experiences. Positive feedback highlights the user-friendly service and reliability, with some customers appreciating the effectiveness of the faxing process and the helpfulness of certain support representatives. However, a substantial number of reviews express frustration with customer service, particularly regarding difficulties in canceling subscriptions, unexpected charges, and inadequate support responses. Many customers feel misled by the pricing structure and report feeling financially exploited. This suggests a critical need for the company to enhance its customer service practices and transparency to improve overall satisfaction.

Hi, I was also using efax before, but after getting these scam letters, i decided to move to Popfax online fax, and I am pretty happy with them. I have never gotten any scams, or fake emails. They seem to be very professional.
I just finally got off the phone with this god awful place! I took a 30 day free trial because I had to send a fax. I was thinking of keeping the service but thought I t was way to expensive so I called to cancel. UNREAL! Took me 45 minutes just to cancel this stupid account! Obviously a scam to try to test your patience so you wont cancel and they can keep charging your card. This is what our world is coming to folks. EVERYONE WANTS YOUR MONEY!
It totally sucked. I signed up for free 30 day trial. Fax would not go through. Tech support was rude and was on the phone for 1 plus hours trying to get fax to go. He had me fax from every browser possible saying it was browser prob. Ea had same effect - nothing. Obviously not browser. Then they billed my account twice for all the faxes their tech support had me try. Bounced my account. Called to complain. Said they would fix it - twice, but nothing was fixed. Ever. Incompetent tech support and customer service did not follow up as promised. Totally disappointed in their service. Would not recommend to anyone.!
I totally agree with the other reviewers. This company is one of the worst companies I've ever done business with. There is no where on the website to cancel your service. They automatically charge your card for a renewal and give you absolutely no notification. When I called to say I didn't want to renew (after getting my Amex bill), the telephone menu was impossible to navigate. After 3 hang-ups, I finally got through to customer service line and was put on hold for an hour. The customer service rep told me I could have had a full refund if I'd called within a couple days of the charge. Of course, that would have only been possible if I had been notified that my card was being charged -- which I WASN'T! I don't recommend doing business with this company -- obviously!
Worst customer service ever. Manager admitted to me over phone that she doesnt care about BBB rating and online reviews, they have zero refund policy. Also admitted they removed cancellation option from website, forcing people to call, because it was too easy for people to cancel service.
Customer service stinks. They are hard to get in touch with. They charged much more than expected after the initial trial, and refused any refund. I'm very frustrated with them and would not recommend them.
What a scam. Free trial what a joke! It says that faxes must be under 60 secs in transmission to avoid an extra charge. I called to find out how to stay under the 60 secs and was told as long my document was less than 200kb I would be fine. My attachment was 90KB so I thought I would be fine. I sent a whole pile of faxes and when I checked the transmission report not one of them was under 60 secs. I called again and she asked if I had any pictures/graphics and I said I did. She told me this would affect the transmission time and I should remove them. According to my usage page I had used 105 out the free 150 pages. I asked if the extra costs would just come off the credits and she told me they would.
She lied. They had charged my credit card over $11.00 for this 'free' trial. They lied and mislead me on two separate occasions.
I asked to shut my account down and they did ( although later than I thought prudent). No apologies, no further explanations.
AVOID THIS COMPANY!
This company is a SCAM. I ordered the 30-day trial. It did not work and I wrote to cancel immediately. The company replied that I was required to call. Two subsequent times I attempted to call and cancel but was told "systems were down." They continue to charge my credit card for a service I never was able to use and do not want.
If you need a fax solution, they are a good bet. Reliable service, fax numbers in every city, and in/outbound faxes directly from your PC. I've heard there can be problems cancelling service, but I haven't had to do that yet.
I thought this may be usefull and signed for the trial. I subsequently cancelled my subscription but they continue to take money from my account regardless of the calls or emails I have sent. I have now had to close my account to ensure that they get no more. If you search for efax fraud on the net you'll get thousands of hits. Avoid this site like the plague.
EFax is a waste of money and a crummy product - For basic eFax service it costs $17 per month, which gives you a fax number and the ability to send and receive faxes. I orginally signed up because I read some decent reviews of eFax. But those reviewers I don't think had actually used the service for any period of time.
(1) the cost is not competitive - if you google "internet fax" you will see a number of much cheaper alternatives.
(2) the fax product is poor. There is a cumbersome client (software) they require you to download to read and send faxes. I think you should be able to do all that on a website without downloading anything.
(3) they auto-bill your credit card without notifying you each month.
(4) they make it very difficult to cancel. There is no link on the website, you have to contact customer service via email or an online chat window. I canceled via the online chat, and the customer service rep would not let me cancel! They just kept trying to retain me. Big waste of time. I wouldn't recommend eFax to anyone.
No Fax machine - get an EFAX account! - My landline went dead for some reason and I couldn't wait for AT&T to come fix it... so I decided to open an efax account. This is a great service. You can do everything by email and it stores copies of the faxes for you. The best part is that they give you a fax number with area code of your choice.
Answer: It says efax on the charge info line. On statement.
