Escrow.com garners mixed feedback from customers, highlighting both commendable service and significant concerns. Positive experiences often emphasize the professionalism and helpfulness of customer support, particularly during complex transactions, which many users found reassuring. However, a recurring theme in negative reviews points to frustrating delays in fund transfers and a lack of transparency regarding fees and processes. Customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of refunds and the perceived incompetence in managing transactions. Overall, while some users appreciate the service for its protective measures, others warn of potential complications and inefficiencies.

Did a domain transfer through escrow.com and it was pretty easy. I didn't realize that on my first time using it I had to do a money wire so it was a little inconvenient but they did state that in the terms and the transaction had no issues. I will use again.
Escrow.com is the worst company I've ever to do business with. Stay away from this company. I've a lot of sales as a result of the incompetence of this useless company. The management does not care about their customers. Feedback means nothing to them. I don't see this company lasting another 10 years before it's disrupted by a company with better service. Some of the customer support reps do their best to help but the management is a mess.
Take for instance, escrow.com does not accept "ACH" transaction but they never informed their customers about it. What normally happens is that they accept the payment and later refund money back to the buyer thereby wasting a lot of day in the process. I will not advise my enemy to do business with this company.
Stay away from this company.
Ever since freelancer bought this company. Things have changed drastically. Ive been having terrible experiences left and right nothing goes smooth any more payments are held way to long and sometimes becomes a deal killer. I have been recently fighting with them to get paid on one of my transactions for over a week they lied and said the sent out the wire. But they haven't. Theres vetter services to use out there that will treat the customers like they should this company is not one of them. Im not using them again!
Everything about dealing with this site has been problematic. Instead of working to produce a smooth transaction, they do all that they can to destroy relations between buyers and sellers. Their support staff finally admitted that they are located in Argentina, not the US - and they will not let you speak with the incompetents charged with verifying the ID of the parties to the transaction wherever in the world they might be. This site is expensive, disruptive, and customer hostile. Their offshore support increases the risk of identity abuse. My opinion... Stay away!
I called to set up an account and had questions and the representative was very agitated and us unpleasant... it was like she was doing me a favor... I surely can go somewhere else!
I recently have completed a domain name holding transaction with Escrow and had a seamless experience that was handled in a very professional manner. Brian and Lee were both fabulous and very patient at helping me every step of the way. They are an asset to the team. If you are doing any type of deal, whether it's large or small, would highly recommend Escrow.
I sold a domain name for around $1500 using Escrow.com's concierge service, for an extra $100 fee. Several times Escrow.com suggested how to deal with misleading or incomplete info from my domain registrar, and they issued many helpful frequent status emails regarding the domain transfer process. Make sure you follow instructions well and make sure your name, phone number and email match where important. Once I established the initial authorization to transfer my domain, Escrow.com did all the transfer details, and promptly issued me my ACH payment. Both buyer and seller both need to be motivated and attentive in order to deal with their part of the work. The people at Escrow.com were competent, prompt, helpful, professional and pleasant. I feel this went very well... Thanks.
I have been an escrow.com customer for many years. I am no longer a customer... all because of a $20 "dispute" or, more accurately, theft.
As a domain name seller, I've always chosen to have a check sent to me by escrow.com. This was always free.
In a transaction I started about two weeks ago, I again chose that a check be sent to me. There was no mention anywhere on the site that any fee would apply. (*just checked their site today and the $20 fee for check payment is indicated).
When I got my closing statement, I saw that I was being charged a $20 "disbursement" fee. I asked about this and they sent me an email explaining this was for an international wire transfer fee.
Of course I did not ask for an international wire transfer! I told them I always requested a check be sent to me and this was always free.
To make a long sorry story short, I was told they no longer send out free checks... that there is now a $20 fee and the only way to get payment that's free is through ACH. Of course I told them if I had been informed of this, I would have chosen ACH.
I told them the $20 check fee (their new policy) was not indicated on there site when I set up my transaction. They basically told me "tough luck" that is how it is now and can't do anything about it. I answered how can you charge me the $20 without giving me notice? An after-the-fact fee? They gave me many excuses but would not correct the problem.
There are many good escrow services out there. I will not work with a company that in effect stole $20 from me. Penny wise and pound foolish.
They received payment 3rd August, passed Tier 2 verification 5 august despite the fact that I had enough Tier 1 because the transaction is up to $ 3000, payment still didnt processed. Terrible, going to cancell transaction on monday!
Avoid at all costs. These people are insanely incompetent. They have the honor of being the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. At the moment, if you call their customer support number, they force you to go through a survey, which attempts to upsell you to DirectTV and other random affiliates. They are absolutely terrible. The worst in the world.
Paid for a car through this service and over 30 days later and still waiting for a title. Customer service is horrible and transfers you or puts you on terminal hold. I highly recommend using a more professional service. I again HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Hi Spencer, this transaction involves the payoff of a lien where the seller's financial institution has possession of the title not Escrow.com.
Escrow.com has paid off the lien at the start of July and continue to follow up the financial institution on your behalf.
I recently sold a domain name using escrow.com's concierge service. The seller wired payment to escrow.com and I transferred the domain to them directly. Within a matter of minutes the transaction was completed and escrow.com wired the funds to me. I imagined the process would be long and tedious but the entire transaction was completed in less than 48 hours. The concierge team went above and beyond as well. Even after business hours they contact both myself and the buyer and walked us through the process painlessly. I can't imagine a transaction of such a high ticket item going more smoothly. Excellent work!
I have been using Escrow.com for many years. Great service.
Very pleased with the service. Can't think of any other service for domain name transaction.
I spent 1st call on hold for 29 minutes after going from caller 5 to caller 1 only to be disconnected! This happened two more times! Tells me that there probably really is not anyone there--beware!
Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! Avoid Avoid! Avoid!
Hi Tom, I'm not able to identify your transaction to be able to provide you with some help. If you could send us an email to support@escrow.com or a private message I'd love to help out.
I have been using Escrow.com for nearly 15 years and have been very pleased with their service. I also have to say that when Escrow.com was sold to the new owners about a year ago I would have given them a 1 Star rating. Their service during their transition period as the new owner was problematic to say the least. I have been self-employed almost all my life so I can also understand the problems in transition of a new business or service. Right now I give them 5 Stars as they are hitting on all cylinders. I'm also starting a new website DomainNamesRus.com which will be up and running by mid July -2017. We will have about 2,000 premium domains for sale and Escrow.com will be handling the Escrow on all Sales. You better be glad that Escrow.com is out their as it would worry me greatly if they was not an Escrow.com to go too. Thanks for listening... David Webb
I bought a domain through Escrow and everything went so smoothly. I am so happy with their services.
This useless website getting $38 Extra for Instant payment., My client make payment first time and failed, he make again and failed(but payment debit on the card, they told 'The authorized funds will automatically drop back into your balance')., any finally make payment third time on Friday night., but their technical team won't work on weekends., so they only can secure payment by Monday., Mean while my client change his mind and cancel the transaction. What an excellent service. Stupid peoples. I'm stupid looser.
Money? I have an issue or actually I want to prevent to have big troubles.
I have a lender and he's asking a 5% interest rates, if I give him 10% cash down. He said with address of my home I own.
He told me with escrow.com I have to accept both side of the transaction. I have to accept. Is it true? I will have the money when i signed the contract and accept the terms so both of parties will get the trasnfer of the money at the same time? Do you think it's true?
Hi Tommy, Escrow.com does not participate in real estate escrow transactions so we wouldn't be able to help you out on this transaction.
They delay payment as long as they can, I assume they have it invested and the longer they have it the more they make on it. Find another way to do a transaction!
Hi Brian, in accordance with California Financial Code Section 17409, funds that are held with us are put into a non-interest trust account. Depending on the transactional situation, additional confirmation from the parties to the transaction may be requested to ensure the proper and safe release of funds to the Seller in a transaction. Escrow.com aims to have funds released same or following business day, however, if a situation such as shipping details are unverifiable or shows non-delivery of said items, Escrow.com reserves the right to seek the additional confirmation to ensure the safe release of funds. If you have any other questions I'd be happy to help.
Answer: Hi David, we've processed just over $3 billion in transactions to date, with transactions from $100 all the way up to over $10,000,000. In addition to our regular licensing requirements, I hope you'll take a moment to look at the customer testimonials on www.escrow.com
Answer: Hi Janine! Thanks for reaching out! As the largest online licensed and audited escrow operator, Escrow.com is your best choice for domain transfer transactions. Escrow.com safely holds or secures the Buyer's payment in a trust account until the entire transaction is complete. That way, Buyers can be confident that the domain will be registered in their name and Sellers can be sure they'll be paid. We also have the concierge service for domain transfers without content where the Seller needs not to wait for the Buyer to confirm receipt and full control of the domain as Escrow.com will essentially take care of that inspection in your behalf. The Seller will only need to transfer the domain to one of our secured registrar accounts and we can release the funds to them. On the Buyer's side, they don't need the inspect period to verify the domain because we will do that for them. Our concierge team will work directly with the Seller to transfer the domain to us so there's no need for the Buyer to stress with follow-ups about the domain transfer. As soon as we secure the payment, the Buyer only needs to advise us where they want the domain to be transferred to and we will take care of the rest. Our dedicated concierge specialists will assist you every step of the way. Feel free to leave your contact details and best time to call as we are happy to discuss with you further should you have other questions. Thanks!
Answer: Hi Milly, I'm not sure I'm understanding your question exactly but Escrow.com only displays bank information on our site and never via email. Check to make sure any emails you are receiving came from@escrow.com.
Answer: Hi Doug, start by making an offer to the seller through the AutoTrader.ca's Secure Payment platform. Once the offer is accepted you can pay into the escrow account and then go to inspect the car. If everything is as expected you can release funds to the seller right there on the spot. Two quick tips: Always make sure emails about your transaction are coming from an@escrow.com email address, and make sure you log into Escrow.com to make sure you're sending funds to the correct account. Hope this helps!
Hi Cory, are you sure you've called Escrow.com on 888-511-8600 Toll-free (USA and Canada) +1-415-801-2270 (International)? Our hold music doesn't mention or advertise any of our partners, and certainly would never advertise Direct TV.
