The world's largest provider of online escrow services. Removing the risk from online transactions with our government licensed service since 1999.
Escrow.com garners mixed feedback from customers, highlighting both commendable service and significant concerns. Positive experiences often emphasize the professionalism and helpfulness of customer support, particularly during complex transactions, which many users found reassuring. However, a recurring theme in negative reviews points to frustrating delays in fund transfers and a lack of transparency regarding fees and processes. Customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the handling of refunds and the perceived incompetence in managing transactions. Overall, while some users appreciate the service for its protective measures, others warn of potential complications and inefficiencies.

Escrow.com is not good last 1 year specially. Before this company is really good. After they sold the company, everything getting bad. Customer support is terrible, not sorting out any issue... Now they want all customers, Buyers and Sellers passports, driving licence, bank statements... etc. To buy or sell anything...
I made an agreement with a seller to buy a very expensive item.Escrow.com held the money. The seller shipped a fake package to a location in my zip code and Escrow.com said because they cannot verify past the tracking number, That was good enough proof for them. Then they want you to go to Arbitration using Net-Arb. Read complaints that this was a sham. It took complaints to Business oversight division to get my funds back. Whoever has the funds is the one who gets screwed! Stay Away!
Hi Walter, Escrow.com verifies delivery of merchandise to a Buyer, or Seller if merchandise is returned, based off of the information provided by the parties in the transaction. When shipping companies display tracking information for packages to be delivered, they will not display a recipient's entire address on the tracking page as to protect and respect the recipient's privacy. As you had mentioned, through our system, we do offer a dispute resolution process. Since Escrow.com is a neutral third party and does not settle disputes for either Buyer or Seller, we do provide three arbitration company options. When this stage is reached in a transaction both parties have the option to sign up and initiate the arbitration company selection and depending on who signs up first the other party must follow the initiating parties action. Once this stage is underway, the arbitrator will preside over the parties case, deliver a legally binding decision to both parties and Escrow.com. We then abide by their ruling and execute that motion to close the transaction safely and successfully. If you have any other questions about our services I'd be happy to help.
I will never do business with this company again. They have changed wire information and policies several times during the last year. When I called customer service to ask about a form of payment, the rep that worked for Escrow, could not answer it. Don't they deal as an intermediary to make payments and deal in money? I am so disappointed that if I did not proactively address this issue (going way out of my way to do so), I would have lost over $10,000 USD. This is completely unacceptable and I believe that this business shouldn't be handling people's money.
Hello Andrew, we had previously migrated our bank account from Bank of America to Wells Fargo back in November of 2016, however, we have not migrated or changed our banking details since last year. For transaction amounts of $5,000.00 and over Buyer's must fund their Escrow transaction using a wire transfer to our banking details. We provide these details in the transaction when Buyers select their payment method as well as have them publically listed on our website in the event the instructions are not printed or copied from within the transaction. In reference to policy changes and updates, are most recent and successful update in policy is our account verification of customer accounts. This is to comply with federal and state laws which ensure that banking and escrow companies are doing their part to counter money laundering, terrorism, and the funding of illegal organizations and activities. If you have any other questions about our services or policies I'd be happy to help.
The team at Escrow.com are capable and reliable. Making a domain transfer between complete strangers smooth and easy.
Hey Travis, Cheers! We look forward to assisting you in your future transactions. Thank you for using Escrow.com.
They have a good system in place, but it took me 6 trails to get their so called authorization done, bad communicated on what they need, they keep changing their reasons, customer service was weak, turns out my payment is on hold (it was fully paid) because they needed me to call to verify my number! Didn't know and no communication sent. Overall, poor experience.
Hey Hussein, when verifying a customer's phone number, Escrow.com must be contacted from the registered phone number in the customer's account. This is sent in an email from our financial department to the customers who need to be verified. When Escrow.com is contacted, the number in profile must also be visible on caller ID so our representative can visually confirm that the number being used is the number in the profile. If a customer is unable to change the settings on their phone to display the number, then we do offer the ability to enter an alternative number in the profile. We also ask the customers to answer a few questions about their profile to complete this verification process. If you have any other questions about I'd be happy to help.
I cant believe people actually give these guys money. This has to be the worst service i have ever used in buying a domain. I still dont have it and its been over a week now. They are now pushing to contact the registar? Why do i even use you guys if i have to do all the work. Ready to cancel this but of course if i do they still get there money. Run if you can better services out there!

Grazie, Luca. Looking forward to handling your transactions in the future!
I'm confused by the reviews on here... the service was extremely
Straightforward and easy to use. I talked with customer service multiple times throughout the process with questions and they were super helpful and prompt.
Cheers, Michael. We look forward to handling your transactions in the future.
Sold a car to a buyer across the country. The buyer had their agent pick up the vehicle. Specified in the escrow instructions that the inspection was waived and that as soon as the bill of lading was provided to escrow.com the funds were to be released. escrow.com claims that their internal policy overrides the escrow instructions. escrow.com is instructing me to send a released title even though they claim that the buyer has not indicated to them that the buyer has accepted the vehicle. I WILL NEVER USE ESCROW.COM AGAIN.
Hi Kevin, Our service always provides a physical inspection period to the Buyer. Should the Buyer wish to waive this inspection period they can, but we cannot waive the inspection period on their behalf. I hope you understand our position that protecting all parties in the transaction has to come first.
Now they started charging to mail my money, they are charging $20 dollars. That is a robbery.
Will not do business again with them.
Hi Maral,
We do offer free disbursement via ACH (electronic check) which is available when you select how you would like to be paid out.
Best regards,
Escrow.com
Just used Escrow.com to transfer my name.
Have no idea why there are so many horror review.
Brilliant service, very straightforward and easy instructions by team.
To the point understandable communication - I am not a big web guy so transferring a domain was new to me.
Definitely use this service.
Made something complicated very straightforward and safe,
I used escrow.com to purchase equipment and upon waiting three days for confirmation of receipt of funds I was informed that the money was no where to be found. Why? After talking to a few agents, one from Manila, one from Australia and another from online chat, I found out that Escrow.com updated their system last week and for some reason mixed up the escrow instructions using the bank name as Bank of America and the Swift code and routing number as Wells Fargo. The result is funds sitting in limbo because it can't be directed to any account. It happens to be a holiday and it will take yet another day to get someone on the phone to figure out the mix up thus holding up the purchase and sale. NEVER USE NOR TRUST!
I sold a vehicle on Ebay to be delivered to Florida. As a safety measure for myself and the buyer, I chose escrow.com to complete the transaction. The buyer set up the transaction on Escrow.com site. Strangely, escrow.com wanted tracking information from me, the seller, even though the transaction clearly stated that the buyer was responsible for shipping. No problem... vehicle is shipped. I entered dummy information for tracking as there is no tracking on a vehicle shipment. Buyer confirms receipt and acceptance of vehicle in accordance with escrow.com terms. Then I receive an email from escrow.com that they are unable to confirm delivery of the vehicle... even though the buyer had done so already. I called escrow.com and asked what the problem was. I also stated that all terms had been met in accordance with their stated policy. I was told that internal policy mandates a 24 hour review because of the dummy tracking information. I asked for a copy of that document as it makes no sense for a 24 hour review when the buyer has already notified escrow.com that everything is good to go. I asked for a supervisor... apparently one does not exist. This is a rinky dink, one person show, that changes the rules to hold your money while citing unavailable policy as a reason to hold your funds longer. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! BUYER BE WARE! Any company that is unable to provide written policy to validate said policy should not be handling large sums of money!
Hi Randahl,
Trading used cars online and interstate can be risky. We do our best to track shipping of the vehicle all the way between the buyer and seller, as well other procedures in the background to make sure that transactions are completed safely and the buyer really has received the item. Entering dummy shipping information understandably throws these processes off and make it look like the vehicle hasn't arrived. Our Support team held this transaction for 24 hours to give them time to reach out to your buyer on the phone and confirm the vehicle's delivery. The Support team was able to reach the buyer less than an hour after speaking with you on the phone, confirm the buyer's acceptance and get those funds released.
While I completely understand the frustration at these funds not being available immediately, I would ask you understanding that our role is to protect both the buyer and seller all the way through the transaction, especially when funds are being released.

General Manager, Escrow.com
I did my part they failed and refused to do theirs. If i were you id hire the first guy on the street, give him a bag a cash and expect delivery to target
I have spent weeks trying to buy a web domain using Escrow.com as the intermediary for fund transfer and potentially their domain parking service. It is a process that should take only a few days, but i am now three weeks in, going back and forward, long delays in response times. And now 3 weeks in Escrow.com seems to have no record / memory of their dialogue with me. I don't know if it is new staff, or my history was erased, but I have spent ever more time writing to try to re-explain the history, but I am now treated as if I am making a first time enquiry. All very vague and unhelpful. I could not recommend Escrow.com for anything that you actually need to happen.
I have used Escrow.com for the last 5 years for large domain sales with overseas buyers but this was the first experience with the concierge services. Tanya was extremely helpful working with the buyer in China on the phone and GoDaddy
THANKS TANYA!
I have been working with escrow.com for the past 15 years, they have changed to the worst. I will no longer work with them, no customer service, staff don't know what they are doing, and terrible service.
I suggest you do not do business with them.

They refuse to refund my money for a cancelled transaction. Going to hire a lawyer to sue them.
I recently used their service. I had planned my transaction with one particular instruction, and despite talking to a number of agents and all of assuring otherwise, they precisely did the thing that I was trying to avoid. Its like having one job, promising to do it well, taking your money and then not doing it. Would never ever use them again in my life. I felt like calling them and giving them an earful, but then i thought what is the point. If a software company can't deliver on it customer service, it is doomed. They lost me as a customer, if all they wanted was quick money from one transaction, good luck to them - enjoy while it lasts.
Answer: Hi David, we've processed just over $3 billion in transactions to date, with transactions from $100 all the way up to over $10,000,000. In addition to our regular licensing requirements, I hope you'll take a moment to look at the customer testimonials on www.escrow.com
Answer: Hi Janine! Thanks for reaching out! As the largest online licensed and audited escrow operator, Escrow.com is your best choice for domain transfer transactions. Escrow.com safely holds or secures the Buyer's payment in a trust account until the entire transaction is complete. That way, Buyers can be confident that the domain will be registered in their name and Sellers can be sure they'll be paid. We also have the concierge service for domain transfers without content where the Seller needs not to wait for the Buyer to confirm receipt and full control of the domain as Escrow.com will essentially take care of that inspection in your behalf. The Seller will only need to transfer the domain to one of our secured registrar accounts and we can release the funds to them. On the Buyer's side, they don't need the inspect period to verify the domain because we will do that for them. Our concierge team will work directly with the Seller to transfer the domain to us so there's no need for the Buyer to stress with follow-ups about the domain transfer. As soon as we secure the payment, the Buyer only needs to advise us where they want the domain to be transferred to and we will take care of the rest. Our dedicated concierge specialists will assist you every step of the way. Feel free to leave your contact details and best time to call as we are happy to discuss with you further should you have other questions. Thanks!
Answer: Hi Milly, I'm not sure I'm understanding your question exactly but Escrow.com only displays bank information on our site and never via email. Check to make sure any emails you are receiving came from@escrow.com.
Answer: Hi Doug, start by making an offer to the seller through the AutoTrader.ca's Secure Payment platform. Once the offer is accepted you can pay into the escrow account and then go to inspect the car. If everything is as expected you can release funds to the seller right there on the spot. Two quick tips: Always make sure emails about your transaction are coming from an@escrow.com email address, and make sure you log into Escrow.com to make sure you're sending funds to the correct account. Hope this helps!
Hey James, to comply and align with regulators, state and federal laws which require all banking and escrow companies to complete account verification of their customers. This is to make sure that the banking and escrow institutions are doing their part to counter money laundering, terrorism, and the funding of illegal activities and organizations. Again, this is a requirement for all companies stating they are proving banking are escrow services. If you have any other questions about verification or our services I'd be happy to help.
