Express Scripts has lied, misdirected, gave false information and overall uses a system based on these cons to deny or delay coverage on approved medications by doctors
Need to be put out of business. I saw the negative reviews and I agree 100%. Been all over the world serving my country and never seen such a show as low & corrupt as this one. This years open season I will be finding a plan that doesn't use ES. Going to have to drive to Canada to get things done instead of spending hours on the phone trying to resolve issues.
I was just released yesterday from the ICU with an anti stroke prescription. I need to take them every 12 hours or I could have a stroke Its been 30 hours and they say I need an authorization and once they get one they will review it with in 72 hours. But its been 30 already and no one knows what the hold up is. Ive been on hold waiting to speak with someone for nearly 4 hours and no answer so far. This company is absolute crap. DO anything you can to not deal with them
THE absolute worst company on ANY planet! What a COMPLET circus good luck with These incompetent incoherent idiots brain dead morons. This is a find example of total in confidence at its highest level a new record. OF brain deadness at its highest level. Wow you must have to be brain-dead to work there.
I am under pain management and unfortunately need lain medicine to go threw the day. Multiple times ES wont authorize it when my doctors office has sent then the questionaire form and from there its a blame issue between the two without any work to get it solved. For a months I had to pay full price while consistanly calling both companies just to get something done. Not happy and by the reviews this is not a company to choose.
I was told to get doctors approval for this medicine. So as not to waste doctors time I asked for a price. They cannot provide a price until doctor approves. Twice my husband's doctor has got approval only to find out that because medicine is not on their formulary it costs $500 per month or more. My husband has fatal progressive disease that needs lots of drugs just to make him not suffer but they don't care
I have to call Express Scripts several times a year to straighten out problems! They always blame it on the Doctors. My Doctors are caring hard working professionals. They do not make mistakes when working with myself. Why would I think they would make mistakes working with Express Scripts? Express Scripts is inflexible! I work all over the country. They will not ship items to P. O. boxes, even when I've made previous arrangements with the box to refrigerate the items when they arrive. They're people will not make a call to fix a problem. They say they're an inbound call center only! If you have the chance to use another company, do it!
I signed up for Part D drug coverage with Mutual of Omaha. The sub that work to Express Scripts. ES billing department sent me invoices each month with different payment amounts. I paid what the invoice said. Six months into our plan I got a notice we had under paid our premiums. I called, talked to a Supervisor. His advice, pay what we owed or the an would be cancelled. Their mistake my problem. As soon as I can I will be cancelling our plan. Shame on MOO and Express Scripts for horrible customer service. It is obvious ES feels thg hey are too big to give a dam. I was amazed when I saw over 200 ES reviews with an average rating of 1.5 out of 5. That says it all. Suggest you avoid companies like Express Scripts at all costs. Good luck.

I have Tricare and they make you use Express Scripts, if you don't you have to pay full price for your meds. Well that's ok until Express Scripts doesn't have your meds, first they don't tell you they can't fill your prescription then they offer no other options to help. I called Tricare and they told me to have it filled at Rite Aid, when asked if they were going to help with payment they said no. Express Scripts is socialized medicine and it fails.
Express Scripts is absolutely the worst and most incompetent company I have ever had to deal with. I was penalized for not using them (because they could not fill my prescriptions for over 3 weeks and needed them right away) and for using my local pharmacy. One prescription cost me over $700 out of pocket. I paid this for 3 months and then called to ask why I had not met my deductible. They told me I HAD reached my deductible but was being "penalized" for not using their service. I have since tried to get my prescriptions filled through their service but told I will have to wait 3 weeks before I will receive them. I have talked with their customer service 4 different times and have been told each time that I could get an "override" to get my prescriptions since I am out and need them immediately. Each time I go to pick them up at the pharmacy they told me to go to, there is no record of me or the prescription. When I asked my local pharmacist to call the Express Scripts pharmacy help desk to ask for the override, they were told that my account is not authorized for an override. I have been caught in this catch 22 nightmare for the past four days and I still don't have my prescriptions. I HATE this company!
This company has no business in the healthcare industry. Their lack of empathy is reason enough to ban them from dispensing medicine. Delays, holds, and a host errors, all compounded by a culture that does not care about a patient's health, have created an environment where their customers may not survive. I would not wish this company on anyone - except those who answer the phone when you try to get what you need.
Warning! I called to speak to a rep and was on hold for an hour and thirty minutes, so I just hung up.
I was contacted by ExpressScripts b/c they said one of my medications (a generic) was on backorder. They told me "the manufacturer quit making it" - but there is more than one generic manufacturer, so why can't they order from a different vendor? What dumbfounded me is that they told me that the refill had been "cancelled" in their system and that I would need to call back periodically to see if it was back in stock in order to get it refilled. Really? I asked them, can't you hold the order open until the medication is back in stock (since I get a 3 month supply at a time, and had enough to hold me over for 3 weeks), and was told "NO." Over a month later, they are still out of stock, yet the FDA website does not list this product on their Drug Shortages list.
The pre authorization process for the simplest of things such as generic diabetic supplies of supplements is comical. I have two situations ongoing where my doctor would prescribe medications and they were denied. So then the doctor would fill out the appeal process with reasons why this medication would help me, and still denied. There is no purpose to having this company as a provider. And do t even try customer service. Still ongoing for months, horrible company
This is the worst company EVER. They have made it so hard to get my medication that I no longer even want to take it because it is way too STRESS and ANXIETY
Please be careful with this company. Said they will provide 90 day supply of medicine for 200.00 only sent one month and would not refund me the difference. Was without my medicine for several months as could not afford to pay $200.00 a month. Pray on sick people!
I have attempted to "refill" an existing prescription and guess what this year its on the excluded list with ES. They have substituted with a med that does not do the job of the original script. One of their reps staid no problem the second rep said no. End result is I don't get the med that works best. My doc made the case and it was still a no.
They love generic low cost drugs In spite of the circumstances, I wish I had an alternate provider but I don't and they love that. Perhaps others do and I would recommend anyone BUT Express Scripts!
We are military so in November 15 we moved on November 8 i change my address. Express Scripts delivered my 7 year old daughter's medicine to the wrong address but I did not find out until 3 months later when they call to ask me to pay a bill so they can send her next prescription. When I informed them that I knew nothing of a bill that I owed and that the last time I received her medication from them was in Oct 2019 which I paid that bill and she confirmed that bill was indeed paid, but the January medication they sent out that needed to be paid. They give me the address it was delivered to which is the wrong address but she tells me I still have to pay it because they didnt see the change of address made back in November 2019 but I log in a see it. So the want me to pay $120 for medicine I did not receive and to get the new medication
This is the worst Rx plan I have ever had. I am also paying more for my Rx's than I ever have. For one Rz, I never paid more than $45.00, this year, I am paying $168.00 for the very same medication. Run away from this insurance company.
They did not question an order that shorted me on meds for 3 months, after they said they would have everything taken care of from my md. Then i had to contact the md and get it fixed. They also said that I would be charged to get the rest of the meds to complete the 3 months prescription.
Answer: Easy to get hold of, but a total waste of time, they will just give you their preprogrammed script and not listen to a word you say.
Answer: It's a legit company with the worlds worst service
Answer: No. And since hell would have to freeze over before I ever actually do purchase anything from Express Scripts I want to have a success story.
Answer: I pay a monthly charge which is part of my Medicare Supplement Insurance. The total premium is $439 a month but it also covers other charges Medicare does not. Then for each drug Express Scripts charges a maximum of $20 for 90 pills if generics are used. Non generics depend on the medicine; they can be much more expensive.
Answer: I had no choice, it is the only option through my employer.
