They are likely the most expensive provider of pharmacudicals in the country. They do not work with any Drug discount and grantor companies or organizations. Go anywhere else if at all possible. Their customer service frankly sucks. They simply do not care.
They did nothing for me until I filed a complaint with Medicare. Then they started to fill my prescriptions very, very slowly. Formulary is highly misleading, even to the doctors who use it to figure out how to send in prescriptions. It's as though they don't want to use them, even though you are paying a Medicare Part D monthly premium. People you talk to on the phone are clueless. Not worth 1 star.
I wasted month and a half trying to get approved for a med I have been taking for 15 yrs. And still got denied. Because they state they didn't get all the info back from my pcp. Which was a lie.
Then they wanted me to start over.
My husband used Express scripts to get his blood pressure medication, he didn't have any problems with it they filled his blood pressure medication and he was able to get a 3-month supply of it. Okay that was great but here's my problem. My son was prescribed Nystatin ointment back in January because my entire household had covid and my son had really bad diarrhea which was causing a rash. I had no problem getting his ointment filled in January the doctor also gave him a couple of refills because he is sensitive to certain ingredients in foods and drinks. My son has been prescribed this ointment on and off for about a year. About a week ago I tried to get his ointment refilled and it kept being denied. I spent two days going back and forth with the pharmacist and my son's doctor because no one could figure out why it kept being denied through our insurance. I finally called our insurance company just to find out that our prescriptions were being handled through Express script. So they transferred me over to speak with someone at Express script and after going back and forth for about 20 minutes I was told that they denied my son's ointment because we had exceeded what the plan allowed for. The guy then tells me that my son's doctor can send a new prescription but would have to change the quantity from 60 to 30 and that if the doctor did that as well as a prior authorization it would be approved. Well I called my son's doctor she thought it was ridiculous as well but she did it. Express scripts denied the new prescription that the doctor sent over even though I was told they would approve it if the doctor changed the quantity to 30 and sent prior authorization. I ended up paying the $50 out of pocket for his ointment. This company is a joke and they should not be allowed to operate especially when it comes to people's medications. I Know a ointment is not that serious but there are people out there who need life saving medications and I would hate for them to deal with this company and be screwed on their medicines. My husband is calling this week to figure out how we can cancel Express scripts. They won't be getting another dime from us.
Pain in my $#*! service. Just by reading all of the reviews, it's obvious, I'm not the only customer who feels the same way. I don't see how they can be aloud to mess up like they do. My dog is more intelligent than their so called system. Just dealing with them over n over again, causes me stress, cause I feel I'm always needing call for mistakes and issues over their terrible communication system.
13 days later, still waiting for my Rx and when I'll get it, the order will not be completed. They still blame it to the doctor's office. Even thou two Rx were made the same day, same time and from the same doctor's office, after 17 days (from the day the order was placed) I will only get one Rx instead of the two Rx the doctor sent (e-script). I found out that do business with them is very stressful and, yes, it is unhealthy.
This is the worst company I have every had the displeasure of dealing with. They lost my nessacery anti rejection medications multiple times over a 2 year span. Getting them to correct these issues are nearly impossible. If you are a transplant patient aviod them at all cost.
I guess my 14 year old daughter's health is NOT important to them! I am SO fed up with this company!
I live in Montana and several times have had deliveries take over 2 weeks. The trucking company evidently does not have the equipment, means or will to cope with winter road conditions. They are incompetent, and unresponsive. VA/Tricare must find a new contractor for this vital service. Too many work from home employees means terrible service, why would we allow that in all of the places - Texas. Who is monitoring Expess Scripts performance? Someone provide some insight into how they got such a contract, sure looks political to me.
I am a diabetic and started to use Express Script this year 2022 as per Cigna that they could save me money and was approved for us to use. I ordered my medication on Feb 2 and according to the report on my account, the medication is still in process. I called them and was told it will be until Feb 18 when it will be shipped to me and will take approx. 3 days to get it to deliver. In the meantime, I am out of medication (Insulin). I called the pharmacy that I was using before and they told me that they would help me but it was going to cost me $268.00 for one pen or $568.00 for 3 months' supply. My insurance could not cover it because I had already ordered from Express Script. Wish I had read the reviews before.
Express Scripts flat out told me I'd have to pay for my child's prescriptions out of pocket (I'm talking hundreds of dollars) when we have disability insurance that covers his meds at 100%. The 24/7 pharmacy hotline reps do not speak much English and (several times) used this as their advantage to tell me they simply "did not understand." We ended up finding a new pharmacy to get the scripts transferred and Express Scripts ANSWERED THE PHONE but yet told them they are CLOSED and refused to send extremely important med scripts so we could get them filled. I have never cried and spent so much time on a phone over prescriptions as I did with them. Never, EVER will I go back to them. Unprofessional and liars.
Absolutely horrible customer service. On every phone call the representatives seem to be guessing or making excuses as to why a prescription can't be refilled. They constantly put the burden on the customer to contact the doctor in order to receive information they claim to need.
Nothing but the run a round, it's always somebody else's fault, Sure hope you don't have to use them, one star is too high of a rating.
Called about a important life med and get the run around after the stupid employee couldn't understand what I was talking about. No importance in his voice sounded like I was bothering him. Then he proceeds to talk slower like I was deaf or crazy. Dear people in charge re- train your telephone reps ASAP
As a new customer, I tried using ES for a mail order. Cardiologist entered prescription 1/19/22. Email received that day from ES saying "working on your order". "You'll receive a separate email once your medication ships. NOT MENTIONED is that you have to call ES and give a verbal approval BEFORE they fill the order and ship it. POOR! POOR! POOR! 10 days later aI called ES to ask where my prescription was and found out about this "protocol". The dummies don't mention this in their confirmation email.
Express Scripts is extremely incompetent. They screwed up just about every order they sent me. One went to wrong address two hours away from my new address. They told me their packages are not forwarded, will not be returned to them etc. Pretty much that I was on my own in getting but I still had to pay for it. They had me on refill for stuff I never requested, thank God I caught that before it was shipped. The insurance I was with at this time wanted you to use Express Scripts and I finally did because their constant emails and phone calls saying you could of saved x amount of money if you had ordered through us when I used CVS instead drove me nuts so I finally gave them a chance. Don't fall for it! Then Doctor upped my thyroid meds, Express Scripts filled it correctly the first time but the auto refill the next time they sent the old dosages which was half of the new dosage. I contacted them that they needed to not charge me full amount because they messed up and I had to double up and therefore ran out of meds in half the time. They never credited me and then it was sent to collections. I called Express Scripts and talked with two people that said they wrote it off and that my balance was zero and that they would let collections know. Fast forward a couple months later and collections starts contacting me again so I called Express Scripts again, the person I talked to (now the third person in this saga) told me that they show a zero balance because they sent it to collections and that I do owe the FULL amount. I explained to her how the meds they sent me were wrong and that they only lasted me half the time period. She said they sent the right meds even though they didn't so I was pretty much screwed, hard to win a battle with a company that lying is their motto. I ended up paying it to make them go away and not to impact my credit score. They are a dishonest company and extremely incompetent and every person you talk to will tell you a different story. My doctor told me that she has heard bad things about Express Scripts from mutiple patients. I don't care if it saves you money every month (which is debatable), they are not worth the constant hassle of their screw ups that they will never admit to.
I'm a chronic care manager for Medicare patients and I've now been on hold for THREE hours and TWENTY minutes! And they do this to seniors every day in hopes they'll give up when their medication coverage is denied. I am incensed at the exquisitely poor customer care. The richest country in the world and we have to deal with this? Just out of curiosity, I wonder how much the CEO of this POS company makes annually? $30,000 would be too much!
I spent three hours on the phone trying to find out what the problem was with the rejection of my prescriptions at the pharmacy I've been using for years. Turned out it was Express Scripts! These losers actually removed me from the system supposedly because I hadn't told them that I wanted to use a retail store. B to the S. It only cost me $20 to pay out of pocket but I can't imagine what people who need their insurance to show up are going through. Shame on you! Makes me want to be an advocate for people who can't figure this stuff out. You'll hear from me again soon for someone else. Horrible, horrible company.
My meds weren't delivered, even thogh the website says they were, and I'm almost out. Upon trying to contact Express scripts VIA their chat, I was told numerous times that all operators are busy, so I called the customer care number, which offered me no resolution. My insurance makes me use this service. I guess I will just pay full price out of pocket or face really awful withdraws. Oh well.
They don't tell you when they no longer cover a prescription. You don't know until it's time to refill. No letter or email is sent. Also it seems they want pre approval for everything. After approval it takes 2 to 3 days to fill, so by then you have been without for 3 to 4 days. All because they don't notify you before your prescription runs out.
Answer: Easy to get hold of, but a total waste of time, they will just give you their preprogrammed script and not listen to a word you say.
Answer: It's a legit company with the worlds worst service
Answer: No. And since hell would have to freeze over before I ever actually do purchase anything from Express Scripts I want to have a success story.
Answer: I pay a monthly charge which is part of my Medicare Supplement Insurance. The total premium is $439 a month but it also covers other charges Medicare does not. Then for each drug Express Scripts charges a maximum of $20 for 90 pills if generics are used. Non generics depend on the medicine; they can be much more expensive.
Answer: I had no choice, it is the only option through my employer.
