I think it's a great way to keep in contact with family in friends that don't live in the same state as we do. But as far as privacy there isn't any if there was. There wouldn't be so many child predators on there. Also they are to willing to just give you information away so easily.
I am surprised there are only 113 reviews of this vial creature. Yes, it is helpful but damn! If they would only maybe, try to keep the customer happy. It's like they genuinely have outright stopped caring about the user and know that people NEED it now so they just go ahead and do what they want. It's like that fat mean kid on the play ground, really nice until it gets what it wants out of you (candy/information) then, screw you, buddy.
I like Facebook and I'm a huge fan / user but in recent weeks their lack of privacy controls has got worse, they keep updating things that were perfectly fine but yet don't concentrate on fixing the known bugs and issues, the privacy settings were just fine.
There is no way to contact Facebook over issues and usually websites that have no means of communication with them are fraudulent, so why Facebook doesn't have a contact us link is insane and so much for trying to be social when you can't even contact them is kind of ironic!
But due to their lack of privacy now I can only rate them with 1 *
It reminds me of "The Blob" Spreading and devouring everything in it's path! Lol
Too many changes. I do enjoy the because we can keep up with what is going on with our friends and family.
It's addictive... I only wish they would stop with all the privacy issues. It makes me want to just close down my page forever and not have to worry about it anymore... I really think it's great though that old friends who have lost touch can find each other through facebook.
Facebook can be fun. But if your friends are boring your experience will be boring. Not facebooks fault. Get better friends!
A few weeks ago I would have given this 4 stars, but given Google's attempt to try an make something better (and in my opinion failing) I think that I now have to give this site a 5 start rating. It's got many things wrong about it, including terrible customer service (it's impossible to actually speak to someone or email someone directly), it's just that everyone is on the site. Easier to contact people on here than email.
I love facebook. I log in 5 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is great in meeting up with all friends and family. I like browsing around and checking on what's going on with my friends. It really keeps me up to date socially.
You just need to keep on tweaking your privacy settings I guess. Of course, you shouldn't post valuable information like your exact address, cc information, etc.
As for me, I maintain my profile as clean as possible by making sure that I only add people who I really personally know.
Great way to find long lost friends and family members. It would be better if they can find ways to make information more secure.
Awesome site to stay in touch with all my friends and family I really couldnt live with out it. Helps me get through the tough times because I can talk to my family that lives out of state since we all have it on our phones sometimes its just nice getting a message on my facebook wall saying they're thinking of me. Plus i can show all my pictures of my ever growing family for my family to see its like they never miss a beat.
Facebook is a great social networking site with so many ways to contact people. You can chat send messages video call write on each others profile its so easy. It also allows you to post and like content from out side of Facebook you can share websites video's all kinds of content. Not only that you can upload photo's and video's and tag family or friends.
Though Facebook is like all other social networks. Be wary of privacy just because you think you are safe doesn't mean you are. When you join Facebook at 13 security settings are controlled for you but some people may believe it gives of to much information to people who might not know you.
Also there are sometimes scams posted through Facebook which are small virus's like worms which then post the link onto your friends. Though its easy to stop it change your password and log off the log back on. This normally fixes but if it doesn't Facebook is there to help.
Do not take this a bad way as Facebook continuously is upgrading.
I've been on Facebook since 2008 and, yes, it is *very* frustrating that they keep changing their privacy settings behind my back and that some of my less-savvier friends (and their friends, it would seem) have their profile pages, photos, you-name-it, wide open to everybody. The thing is, though, that people really do rag on Facebook about its privacy *but*, in this modern era privacy is really a relative term at best: emails and texts can be forwarded to anybody (think Tiger Woods), my phone number can be reverse-searched and my info accessed with a fee and thanks to StreetView you can practically see in my front window! What I *wish* Facebook would do is *lead the way* with strong privacy settings that can be made more lax by users... vs the other way around. I also *wish* they would stop breaking things that work, like their private messaging and chat (that they recently quasi-merged which is just awkward).
What I *like* about Facebook is that I can actually *find* my friends and overseas relatives and chat or message them. I can choose the level of privacy on my info, create separate groups of people and what those groups can see or not see, and I can truly *network* as I choose to. I can easily remove posts and if I want to opt out of dumb features like "let my friends check me in", I can do that too.
I knew going in that I would be sharing info and that my photos could be "used" for any purpose at any time. Do I actually *expect* them to do anything with them? Um, not really. Maybe that one that my friend's friend posted of her friend on a toilet... far more interesting (and, again, as with anything in life, think before acting and only share what you are have become public--same as in email).
There's advantages and disadvantages in using facebook. Me, I just need to connect to my friends and family, not the whole world in facebook where everybody knows what youre up to. Set my facebook account for friends only but facebook changed it without my knowledge. No respect. I discontinued/closed my facebook account. Privacy issues, they're not worth taking risk for and shouldn't be taken for granted. I won't be coming back to facebook.
Yeah go there! Tell you live to everyone, put your photos and photos of your friend without asking them, it's so cool to have so many friends there!
Of course stay away from this and all others "social network".
You have to say something to your friends? Then have a phone call and send pictures in e-mails
Hey wake up everyone... just think!
Facebook don't give you something but you give all your datas to facebook...
You can live without it, just try!
Advice of the day: go outside if sunny. NOW
I would say that i LOVE fb because i found my 2 brothers on there whom i have never met and i think i have found my dad aswell so its helpfull for tht, but honestly it is really OVER RATED these days, its boring they need to make some changes,
It used to be a great site. When it wasn't like myspace. Now, everything is spam.
GREAT social network to use for stalking pictures and finding out what's going on in the lives of your friends. With a click of a button you can look at all the embarrassing pictures and videos of your friends, and read all the things their other friends write on their walls! Awesome right?
That's the scary truth of Facebook. Unless you block and try to raise your privacy, EVERYTHING is everyone's business. It tells you when a friend makes a new friend, changes their profile picture, gets in or out of a relationship, gets in a "complicated relationship" (whatever that means...), and also where a person might be in their "places" tab. And also... it NEVER really goes awayyy! With a simple click, you can "delete" your facebook, but with another re-install it exactly to how it was before! O_O Scary right?
It's a fun social network, that's for sure... but if you get one, BEWARE! Know that everyone is watching you! And if you don't think you're a stalker? Just wait until you're bored and "it" strikes! You will find yourself wasting away minutes on this site! (Unless you have really good self control, which then, I applaud you! Wish I was as disciplined as you!)
Young and old--once you get a facebook and you get addicted, it's so difficult to just NOT use it during your boring hours at work or at school and at home! Again... GREAT Social network, you can keep in touch with lost friends without really having to SEE them physically!
If you're a closet shut in (and even if you're not), relax! Facebook is here to help you be a social butterfly online!:)
Anyways, what am I saying? FB is fun! Despite their template changes! Jump on the bandwagon and get one! You won't get TOO bored ever againnnn! ;)
I have been on facebook almost 3 years and haven't had a single site related issue. I've found long lost friends and have met new ones. There are plenty "In my opinion" plenty of security settings for you to choose from and "again" I haven't had a site problem or security issue since I've joined and I haven't heard any issues from friends or family members on facebook either. GOOD SITE :)

Answer: Because they don't care, and it's probably millions, not hundreds. There are no internet laws protecting consumers of that place. It would take a bill in congress, and guess who also doesn't care what FB does to its users? U.S. Congress! Zuckerberg is having private meetings with the thug in the White House, trying to cover his butt or ensure nothing happens to his precious company in liability law suits.

Answer: Same exact thing happened to me just yesterday and I'm so beyond pissed off and upset, I'm so worried whoever hacked my account will take all my videos and pics of my children and sell them to pedophiles and Facebook won't help me at all, I sent documentation to prove it is my account but they still won't fix it, UGH!
