I have a love/hate relationship with facebook.com. I love it because without communication I can keep up with people (not just friends) from home. They pretty much put their whole life out there. I know when their birthdays are just in case I forget or get drunk and just want to give them a shout out! I can see baby pictures, wedding pictures, graduation pictures, night on the town pictures. You name it. I feel like I know these people more than I ever have. It is a fabulous resource for companies to advertise, and build their business and to engage with their fans. BUT... the personal level of facebook.com not only weakens the communication skills of our up-coming society (among many other things) but also makes it much easier for anyone to track us down. Not always a bad thing but not always a good thing either. Wish people would be a bit more careful with what they post on the internet for their own safety but I do enjoy the insight.
They let my 5 year old charge $160.00 worth of charges to my account without my permissionand won't refund it. What loosers!
Facebook is good for people who are looking for old friends, providing their friends have a facebook page. It also a good site to show off your family pictures and actually meet new friends. So try it out and have fun! At times it can also get a little gossipy causin problems between people because of sending messages, but different strokes for different folks>
Sad! In addition to people competing for numbers of friends it amazes me the sheer number of people who get into this and every cousin, friend, arch enemy, hated co-workers, old bullies etc become ypur "friend"
The saying goes if you have 1 friend you have a treasure, if you have 500 you have FaceBook. AND I have not even begun discussing the legal issues and breaches in privacy!
I love Facebook! I think I may be addicted. It has replaced email and the phone in most circumstances, lol. But it also makes it much easier to keep in touch with people you wouldn't normally talk to but a few times a year. It's a really great site.
I generally like this site. I like being able to get in contact with old friends. I can keep up with friends and family members that live far away, and I can see what they are up to.
However, I am bothered lately that seemingly "fake" people have tried to friend me. They claim to be the same class as me in college. I friended them, and then immediately unfriended them. I was born in 85, and I was class of 2008 in college. Two girls friended me, one was supposedly born in 88, and the other 1990. How were they in the class of 2008?
Both of their profiles were not well developed. They didn't have anything posted on their wall.
I think fake people are being created, so you will friend them, and companies will get your information. They are trying to get past the security. If you use facebook, make sure you really know the people you are friending. Facebook is fun, but use with caution!
Pros:
1. Fun and interactive
2. Easy interface
3. First of its kind - original
Cons:
1. Server often too slow, errors
2. Major privacy issues
Facebook is a great way to connect with your family and friends. You can also find people you use to go to school with and even old co-workers. I personally love it because I'm not much of a phone person, so its perfect for me.
I have been trying to contact the site help center about drug dealing going on between kids in our jr. High. I have called the useless customer service # several times leaving a message every time. No answer and no call back.
Facebook needs to go bye bye. I love keeping in contact with my friends, but i will risk losing it to stop the drug dealing between kids!
LEASE HELP! I even called local news and NOTHING!
Facebook is the leader in social websites.
It is easy to use, fun, convenient, real time, and SAFE! You can view photos, send messages, chat, and even poke! In addition, it is becoming a gold mine for company's to advertise about their products. With that being said, you also have an array of applications or games to play to make your experience better!
Lastly, do NOT blame Facebook or anyone else if your information gets out. Facebook is EXTREMELY secure and offers great protection of privacy. However, you are in charge of how public or private your account is. No need to blame anyone else if you do not take the 20 seconds to change the privacy settings. With that being said, choose carefully if you want to add co-workers as your friends as they can see all of the information and photos you have posted though Facebook has now added features where you can choose to block certain parts of your page from specific people.
Good Luck! Have Fun! Adjust your privacy settings to your desire.
If you continually adjust your security/privacy settings, it is great. We use it to share baby photos and videos, etc with out of the area family members. For this purpose, it works great. However, keeping up with the ever changing privacy settings is getting old. The worst part about facebook is the games. It seams thsat the majority of updates from people are events in some game they are playing. I don't care if somebody buys a chicken on farmville. I should be able to turn those updates off.
Facebook is a lovely website, where you can add friends and chat and connect with them, play entertaining and useful apps like facebook game apps, and also share thoughts, ideas, memes, etc. but joining groups and liking topics and subjects, etc. Highly recommended.
Facebook is a social network developed by Mark Zuckerburg ( watch the Social Network for details). The website allows you to befriend people who you know and don't know. When you sign up, it asks you about things you like, what your name is, and further information. Facebook is notorious for identity thefts and cyber bullying. I personally don't think a kid should use it until they are 13 and responsible. On facebook you can befriend ANYONE you want. Once someone befriends you, you get the ability to chat with that person. That's the dangerous part, a child could be speaking with an older man rather than who they believe it is. I have no bad experiences, facebook is good... as long as you know how to use it properly.

Facebook rocks! A brilliant layout and design of a social networking website. A masterpiece!
I don't like the new profile settings. But facebook is a cool way to connect to people around the world
I love this site - I have met so many great moms in my area, and online. I also get a lot of helpful information from the local communities, such as child friendly restaurants, good deals around the city etc.
There are, of course, some moms who instead of helping others, berate and put down everyone who doesn't agree with them. This isn't the site's fault, all social sites have those kind of people. But don't be afraid to join because there are many more amazing, supportive moms than there are mean ones!
My experiebnce on Facebook was unconstitutional in my opinion. I was conversing on facebook a few times with a person. They asked me to be their friend, by a mutual friend. The next few contacts were from a former girlfriend making violent threats, and intimidation. After a few words of name calling this girl threatened to have me finished with access to facebook, and who knows whatever else. I was advised a report was made against me and to delete the person who had asked me to be their friend. Three times I asked what I had been accused of, which I was given no answer. I was restricted. I don't think it is constitutional to hear an accusation and accept it is true based on a one side story. I was threatened physically which also was not addressed. Then they changed their profile name on facebook. But I recieved the same e-mail on my e-mail account. But it is the same person. I was by the highest court of Facebook there constituted guilty of what and restricted because of... I don't know... I guess anything goes there, I read even personal information.
I think this site is the best of the social networks I have tried. You can post photos and share opinions for others to read and respond. The wide variety of games and applications are nice too.
Great site to network with friends, old and new. I am horribly addicted, but I see no harm in that. I personally do not share any information that I don't want public knowledge, so the threat of third parties using my information doesn't bother me. My only complaint is that some people post the most ridiculous status updates. But then again I did accept their friend requests.
I absolutely LOVE facebook :)! ! Its helped me get in contact with friends i havent been in contact with in years & even family members ive never met in another country! Its fun 2 read peoples status's. & even more fun commenting on them & getting into fun little debates where everyone gets involved! U can play games. Read horoscopes (my fav :). .). & even manage & build your own farm, cafe, ghost town empire! U can join crazy funny little groups which are shown on your profile page & helps others get an idea of the kinda person u are! It even helps update u on tv programmes uv missed coz EVERYONE has something 2 say about everything. From eastenders to x factor lol! As 4 peoples concerns about privacy... i don't understand the issue with it to be honest! Your in control of everything thats shared about u... even down 2 who can look through certain photo albums u put up. U can hav 200 people on your friend list & 5 photo albums but if one of the albums are of family or children u can adjust the settings so that out of your 200 friends only the ones you've registered as family can view that one album. & that will only stand 4 that one album! U can adjust the privacy settings for everything to suit u whether it b who can read your status's or who can find ya 2 add u as a friend 2 start with! & even if that aint good enough then its still the individual persons choice what to put on there in the first place! Its fun. Entertaining & in my eyes 100% safe & secure & i personally couldnt live without my facebook lol :) x

Answer: Because they don't care, and it's probably millions, not hundreds. There are no internet laws protecting consumers of that place. It would take a bill in congress, and guess who also doesn't care what FB does to its users? U.S. Congress! Zuckerberg is having private meetings with the thug in the White House, trying to cover his butt or ensure nothing happens to his precious company in liability law suits.

Answer: Same exact thing happened to me just yesterday and I'm so beyond pissed off and upset, I'm so worried whoever hacked my account will take all my videos and pics of my children and sell them to pedophiles and Facebook won't help me at all, I sent documentation to prove it is my account but they still won't fix it, UGH!
