Hired a cleaner to arrive last Sunday at 11am at 11.02am I was informed that they were no longer coming. Highlighted that this was unacceptable, as I had planned my entire weekend around this. Was told I would be called on Monday with an outline of how they could make it up to me. Days later no phone call and my home is still dirty. Never again.
The worst company to deal with ever!
First of all this company is a rip-off, super over price.
Secondly they DO NOT have a customer service at all! They treat their customer like they don't give a f***!
I had back abd forth with then fir 2 months trying to cancel my plan over and over and they just not give a f***
It's a waist of time and money, please save yourself a headache and DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.
THEY WILL KILL YOUR MOOD, TINE AND ESPECIALLY MONEY!
I HOPE YOU WOULD HE SMART AND READ THIS REVIEW AS OF I DIDN'T HAVE BEFORE STARTED DEALING WITH THOSE FUC***
Used handy storage for 3 months and went with them because of the 1 month free deal. I regret it.
They keep your belongings in an open warehouse which is reaaaally dusty (throwing a tarp on top is too much?). So expect to spend hours cleaning anything you get back.
Furthermore, they put on super adhesive stickers onto all of your belongings that DO NOT peel off easy (see picture). It damaged more than 1 of our items.
When I emailed them about it, they said they have a "satisfaction guarantee" and if we send pics of damage + item info, they will pay for any damage. I filled out their claim report and never heard back from them again (even after sending a follow up email).
They contract local movers for pickup/delivery and Handy support messed up my time window when sending them instructions.
Overall, its not worth the $100 or so bucks in savings as you'll be paying for it with time spent cleaning + damage to your belongings.
So disappointed with Handy cleaning service! Beware of them, they lure you in with their offers then say you have to pay £60 when you want to cancel! Regardless of what views or expectations or experience you had with them! I had a cleaner bring in her daughter to help without informing me to get my consent or anything! I tell them Im not happy and want to cancel but they still insist that I stay or pay £60! Like really! Lol BEWARE EVERYONE lol
Handy treats both their customers and their "professionals" abominably. The person assigned to me called me at 4am to tell me she thought she had the flu and would be going to the doctor before she came for her 9am appointment. At 9:30 when she still had not arrived, I tried to call her back at the number she called from, and got a recording stating that I was not calling from an approved phone, and to call back using the phone number on my account. (Which doesn't exist anymore, as it is 4 feet deep in flood water.) Waiting in my vacant house with no internet access, I tried to contact Handy directly, only to learn that they only allow you to contact them via email. At 1pm I gave up and went elsewhere to access the webpage, where all I could do was file a "No Show" complaint. Handy never contacted me, but instead charged her a $150 penalty fee, which she called me back to complain about.
Handy has no interest in addressing concerns, fixing issues, or maintaining customers or business relationships, their only objective is to make sure they get their money any way they can. Their ultimate resolution was to apply $109 credit to my account for "my next booking". Pigs will fly...
I was a first time handy user. My experience was absolutely horrible. I was not getting notifications through the app even though I had set it up and my cleaner stated that she called through the app and I never got her call. I had been waiting 50 minutes for the cleaner. When I finally noticed she left messages. She already left. When I responded to her why didn't you call me like I asked, she stated that she could not. Called me hun and told me that she had been waiting since 5 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start. Complained that handy does not pay for her gas and travel expenses etc. I had given her my phone number to call me instead of texting me through the app. Common sense would have been to call my cell when I didn't respond. Customer service is super slow and now that I cancelled my account is non existent! $99 to cancel and they force new users to pay for at least a 3 month plan! What a scam and waste of time! Now I have to contact the BBB and fight to get a partial refund for at least
The last two appointments I will never use. DO NOT USE HANDY.COM! The app is horrible and I just wasted $300!
I am extremely unhappy with Handy. They are super sneaky. They do not send out a text or email reminder the day before the cleaning. The only reminder you get is 1.5 hours before cleaning and there is a 2 hour cancellation policy so you are screwed if you forgot about the cleaning appointment and not home to let the cleaners in. So I out $113 plus they charge you another $99 if you decide to cancel the plan entirely. There is no recourse. You are screwed.
I have used handy for last 6 months. Only time they let you know person is coming is 2 hours before, no texting emailing before. For a 600 soft apt their minimum time is 3 hours and most of the time cleaners leave after 1.5-2 hours saying there is not much to clean. They never clean inside of microwave, refrigerator or clean the bathtub sides saying we are not housekeepers. Have complained to handy many times no use. But they won't let you cancel service even if service is bad. Kind of stuck with them. I wish i had never signed up. Now can't get out...
Terrible experience. Terrible cleaning, workers are abused--the cleaner spilled his heart out to me. Horrible customer service. Ripoffs. The agreement is totally nuts and with all legal language is actually not a proper contract. They charge for cancelling agreement, but they breached it themselves! I should be charging them. They are in violation of NYS Labor Law and I hope that NYS closes them down as other services who are abusive to both contractors and customers.
I signed up with a discount trial and the first cleaner was great. The second time the cleaner wanted to leave after an hour. She did not clean the inside of the microwave, clean behind the toilet, mopped the kitchen with dirty water that smelled and left water marks. I had to go around the house to show her these things. After the second hour she wanted to leave and I was so frustrated I let her go. When I talked to customer service, they offered a $20 discount for the next visit which doesn't even cover the last hour she was not there. I asked to cancel and was told that I would be charged $150 cancellation fee and encouraged to "allow us the opportunity to serve you better". I followed this request and the next time the cleaner canceled 30 minutes before the arrival time. The company offered me a $10 credit and again said I would be charged $150 if I cancelled. Funny, if I cancelled within 2 hours I would be charged for the cleaning anyway. This is a HORRIBLE service! And the customer service is not helpful at all.
I decided to write this review as other reviews on here were from customers, I have experience from the other side, being a contractor for them. The pay rate is low, The customer expectations are sometimes extraordinary from the time and pay allotted. The rating system is unfair. In general just a bad experience. Two weeks after I quit accepting jobs from them I got a noticed that I got a one star review. The reason was I left early--well I never left a job early and does that really rate a one star review? How was my cleaning--was it outstanding?
Many times I had the issues that the customers reported. I signed up for a job, just to be informed that customer never ordered it.
One time I went way up in the mountains, no one home, I am guessing customer never ordered the service as they never got back with me. I made sure to always text before going--but this one no text back and a no show would have cost me $40 or more. So I went up!
So my suggestion is for both the customers and people looking to be contractors is stay away! But I love the idea of being able to pick up cleaning jobs as my schedule allows, not for such low amount of money, unreasonable expectations, and poor management.
On a side note, one of my jobs was for a young man who is investigating developing a similar system. He paid me to stay after I had cleaned and interviewed me about my experiences. So I hope he does develop something better!

Beware Everyone,
You do not know or have anyway of knowing if the person sent by Handy.com is actually the person whose name you were given!
The word is spreading to criminal element circles that Handy will background check any name you tell them without any verification. All the thieves are now applying to Handy to gain access to your homes and steal your valuables.
The thief (Pseudonym 'Joshua Sanchez') they sent to my home has a long list of priors and criminal convictions.
Handy is under investigation and will be shut down.
Feel free to private message me for more information.
Beware of Handy.com. Once they have your credit card information, they will make unauthorized use of your credit card. Yesterday they billed me three times, adding up to $100 for services I never ordered or authorized. I used them once five months ago. All of a sudden, last night at midnight I received a text five months later that someone was coming to clean up an apartment I didn't even own and I was being charged for it. There is no phone number on the site, nothing you can do to stop them. I had to get a new credit card to stop their unauthorized use of my card.
I had one unpleasant experience, but I do know happy customers of Handy, and I hope they improve, especially the ease with which users can submit complaints and cancel bookings (especially erroneously scheduled ones).
(My experience: Handy Pro showed up without me ever knowing - without me ever booking. Cause? Apparently I was enrolled in a bi-weekly plan, unbeknownst to me, even though I had used them only once 6 weeks ago.)
In a six month period, Handy have cancelled once letting me know 12 hours before the booking and then today, cancelled a second booking with no notification.
They sent a confirmation the day before, so I was waiting for the cleaner, only to find they had removed the booking from their system. The "mobile number" they supplied for the cleaner was actually just a voice recording.
There is absolutely no way to contact them when you have problems, which you will inevitably have.
They are more trouble than they are worth, avoid!
Handy charged me 87 dollars without even having a cleaning done. They don't have the option of removing 'recurring cleanings' on the website - you'll have to call in and get it removed or else they just keep charging you. Cannot recommend using a company that thrives on making it as hard as possible for their customers. Even the customer support could not care less about my problems.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
